  1. Hey guys, Been a while since my last post. Alright, so I've been on Propecia since January '06 and I'm not sure its doing anything. Im really starting to seriously thin out all over my head. Furthermore, I've been having some sexual side effects lately that I think can be attributed to Propecia ( question: Is is possible for sexual side effects to just start showing up a year after beginning treatment?). Anyways, I think I may get off the finasteride and try this laser. What have you guys heard about it? With a 90% satisfaction-rate its gotta be worth a shot. Thanks guys. Ty
  2. I have taken really crappy care of my body ever since I left high school three years ago and since that time I have had progressive thinning all over my head, especially in the hairline. While still in high school, I never had hairloss, and I rarely smoked and played sports all the time. Following high school I have smoked a pack a day, not really had any consistent exercise, and have drank heavily prob. at least 2 nights a week... absurd, I know. My dad is a Norwood 5-6. He had lost almost all his hair by the time he GOT TO college. Heres the sixty four thousand dollar question: Realistically, do you guys think that if I stopped smoking, started running, and slowed down the booze my hair loss would slow down? I am not looking for a miracle here, just opinions. I know it owuld help my cardiovascular health, which promotes blood flow, which is good for hair, right? Once again, I don't expect to stop my hairloss completely, just slow it down... I'm only 21 for Christ's sake.
  3. What difference does it make... You can already get Proscar, which is the same as Propecia, for a lot less anyway. You can patent this.
  4. I just got the Full and Thick stuff last Friday, and I can already tell the difference. I've tried thickening shampoos before and they have seriously damaged my hair. However, I think that if you alternate using Full and Thick with some moisturizing shampoo daily, you'll be fine.
  5. Hey all, I think this is my third post in two days, but I'm fairly desperate... Anyways, I have a question about the correlation between having a flaky, dry, dandruff-y looking scalp and shedding. Is the reason I have been shedding so fiercely recently due to my really dry scalp? Side notes: I did experience one shedding period this large, but I assumed it was normal because it was about two or three months after I started using Propecia. Also, this is the first summer where hair loss has been a major issue for me. I am a big time golfer and I have never worn hats; could my hair loss be from sun burn? My current regimen is Propecia once every 1.5 days and multi-vitamins (if they do anything). Should I add a moisturizing shampoo? Are there moisture-rich shampoos out there that can also thicken the hair? Thanks for taking the time guys, I really need your help

    Follicles

Thanks for the input... Keep on keepin on.
  7. What up Don't think I'm a couple chromosomes short or anything, but as I am going through a real shedding phase right now and at the end of some of the finer hairs I am seeing almost microscopic white balls... Are those my follicles falling out with the hair, thus negating the chance of ever growing hair there again? I'm tweaking out a little bit here....
  8. Hey again all, Just had a quick question... I've been on Propecia for seven months; I've went through the initial "shedding" phase at about two months. However, its started again and my crown coverage is diminishing. I'm considering switching to Avodart to block both types of DHT. My question is: will I re-experience shedding when switching drugs? Does anyone have any experience with switching from one drug to the next? Thanks ya'll
  9. See a different doctor or get generic Proscar online... ITs cheaper than Propecia and you don't need a prescription

    Propecia Time

Hey all, I read recently on this forum that Propecia will block DHT for 36 hours... If this is the case, why do doctors say take it once every 24? IS this just to make sure we remember it?(As if we could forget our hairloss)... Anyway, if the 36 hour thing is true, I may switch from taking Propecia once a day to once every 2 days (I've had some bad sexual side-effects). Peace out, Ty

  12. Trips - I've been on Propecia for seven months now and just recently I have noticed that my hair loss is coming to a halt. As for the minox, I started using it about three two months ago, but stopped two weeks ago- it was just too messy. Anyways, I have had a bigtime loss after stopping. I think that you should only start on minox if you plan on staying with it for a LONG time. If you stop, all the hair you grew or protected will fall out very soon after discontinuing Minox. T
