I just had my 1st ht in Miami, I flew from Boston Down to Miami. Checkout Dr. Jeff Epstein on Sunset blvd. Here is his site with lots of pics of before and after ht pictures. To the Emporer, yes we may have been a little hard on him,but that is what this sites all about! Finding truth and sticking together to weed out the false. He may have been more diplomatic,but just look at our diplomacy and ask yourself do you believe everything you hear or read. Thank God we live in a country with freedom of speech and sometimes things in diplomacy can get nasty. This is the nature of the beast! We my friend Emporer are freedom fighters and we want truth!!! I am sorry to hear about your scar and I hear you on going fue in your case. I would want the same also if my scar was to wide. Emporer who did your work? There are some great ht docs out there. Dont go for area docs if they are not to your satisfaction. You will have to live with your ht for life. Bosley????? Terrible a roll of the dice!!! That Dr. You mentioned Gianatto!!! Take a look at the surgeon reviews portion. I just responded yesterday to the question (How does it look) by its_going_fast I think that will answer your question on him . Good luck take your time and if you have to travel a little bit futher than you wanted to (you will be much happier in the long run!!! New york has some great docs!!!! I went back to work 4 days post-op and no one could tell. My doc is Jeff Epstein and he didnot shave the donor site. Take a look at my weblog and this will show pics right after the ht procedure. What norwood class are you? For not shaving it depends on how many grafts you intend to have. I had 2953 grafts,but if you are going to go for a mega session than you might need to shave? 1 MONTH YOU WILL BE FINE,BUT THE QUESTION IS WILL YOUR SCAR SHOW AND DO YOU WANT PEOPLE TO SEE THAT SCAR? CAN YOU WHERE A HAT TO WORK ALSO?

If your grafts look to far apart? I would ask the question about dense packing? Did your doc bring that up? That was my big question on my ht procedure

I think the incisions look a larger than what my doc used on me. I have one question? Are you a drinker by chance because Booze will make you bleed more than a person like myself that is a non-drinker.

Most of the guys are saying aloa vera gel, spex just did a thread on it. You should read about the pinkness. Your other question will need to answered by someone more qualified like your doc

Hey agentharley: you are about a little over 2 weeks post op? If thats correct? At your stage I did not use anything accept the rogaine and I started that at the 2 week mark of post op. My head was itchy from the ht and when I started to use the rogaine it Really got itchy. I also was using a mild shampoo for two weeks after the ht (johnson & Johnson baby shampoo my babies lol)After 2 weeks post op I started the revita shampoo. The revita shampoo is alot milder than the nizorel. Alot of guys told me they only used it 2 to 3 times per week because it was making there scalp flake more and some more itchyness. I bypassed nizoral and went right out of the gate with Revita. Only because its shampoo and I dont think its going to play a huge role,but maybe it might help? who knows to early to tell. I think you should be on the propecia,rogaine for right now!! If my head was to get itchy I would take a shower and use the baby shampoo and that would take the itchyness away. I did not want to take a chance with the aloa vera yet because alot of guys said maybe thats to early on my ht area and wait to about 1 month. I followed there advice!!! Then I put the aloe vera on in the shower after I washed my hair and a liitle more aloe after I pat dryed my head when getting out. I did this only once per day and actually used the aloe vera every other day. It seemed to work that way for me. My big itchy area was the donar scar. It drove me crazy not to scratch!! Buit I did not want to jeopardize stretching my scar or opening it up because I had suctures. I just started less than 5 days ago applying aloe on my donor scar and switched only after 2 days to this product scar zone and its better than the aloe I think, plus it diminishes scars also,thats its purpose. My doc said to leave the scar alone for atleast a month and bear through and after 1 month this regiman on my scar with ointments would be fine. I hope this helps but Im just telling you how I did it and there are alot of guys who do it other ways also. I think I was practical in my methods

Propecia/proscar and rogaine/minox !!! I use the proscar witch is the same as propecia and costs alot cheaper. You just need to find a doc who will prescribe it to you.Then you cut the tabs into 1/4 doses. I use the minox kirkland costco brand which costs $17.99 for a 6 month supply. I am going to change to the rogaine foam which is $40.00 for a 3 month supply but alot of the guys like it because they are only using it once per day before bed and not twice with the solution. Definitely wait a year and see how the meds work. Start doing research now on hts and find a great doctor. If you decide to do ht in the future dont let distance be the main factor. Where do you live ?

I am a non drinker and I have to say that is probobley one of the reason my ht area came out nicely without deep redness. My ht area was a little pink but not really noticeable. Guys dont drink to get a clean recovery

Looks great and you healed up fast. You must be pretty happy from your results. Have you had any shockloss?

agentharley, I also did not want to take a chance with adding anything to my ht area. My head way so itchy though!!! I just started using aloe vera on my head a week ago and the pinkness does leave. The itchyness is more on my donor site and I started using also in the last couple of days a cream called scar zone with green tea super antioxidant. This scar zone is for my donor scar. It seems to be working nice. You can buy this at any pharmacy. I would not using anything for about a month after your ht. The only thing I used was the minox kirkland costco brand on my ht area to help for faster growth. I also use the revita Shampoo once a day which is really nice but expensive at $27.50 per bottle. POMPADORE: I am also the solution for the minox,but I am going to change to the rogaine foam as soon as my 3 month supply is gone. The foam is more expensive,but some guys are only using it once per day at night before they go to bed. Also the foam penatrates better on the scalp than the solution and the guys seem to like it better on this site.

Im 35 days post -op and im pretty satisfied with the doc. He also gives a good price if you ask and travel to Miami. I am from Boston!!! he also gives out free grafts. did you see his site foundhair.com take a look at my weblog and you can see that he does some nice clean work. He also does not shave which was a bonus. Some people think you need to shave,but again it all depends on the # of grafts. How many are you looking at? I had 2953 grafts with no shave and a hair count of 5560 new hairs

Pompadore Thanks for the kind words. Yes my Ht did not even look like I had one. The ht area was a little pink. My wife was amazed and said you cant really tell. Those pics where the 4th day when I came home from Miami. This thread gave me alot of good info on shedders and non-shedders. But im good with the info I received. You will be ok pomp you will see those new beauties growing back in shortly. Are you using rogaine foam/minox on the transplanted area? That will speed up the process from what my doc says I did not have shockloss,so I would have to say that im not sure.maybe someone can answer that ??? for you when they read this message.

Yes ng2g2b you clarified everything from your post and thanks for your input. From all the info I gathered its not bad to loose grafts and its not bad to keep grafts. Its all the same in the long run. So yes I am the world champion graft keeper as we speak. One correction Djdennis weighing in at 2945 grafts not 2953 I did loose 8 or so grafts!!! Im not undisputed yet we still have a couple of more months to shed. I did write to my doc and I will copy and paste his reply to this topic on non shedders

No I was not freaked,just concerned that my chickens where not flying the coupe.From all the posts ive been reading most guys loose them in the 1st month. So me being a rare case of having 97% of my hairs still at 35 days post op was very significant compared to the others. I think the closest guy who posted about not shedding said after 2months he still had 50% of his ht hairs still in place and that was the last of him chatting about it. So I have 25 days to loose 47% of my new hairs and then I will be tied with that guy as the longest non-shedder on the site. I do believe I will be the new world champion in non-shedding contest or how can I say it freaken mutant ht non shedder. Thanks for trying ngtg2b. Not freakin just thinking why???? Sounds a little abnormal. lets ask this??? is it possible and ever heard of to keep 97% of transplanted hairs with non shedding of 2953 ht grafts. My only thought was that I responded well to the rogaine and proscar and this might be possible that those new hairs got stronger and they would all just keep growing without shedding at all and I would not go through that phase at all. Just thoughts since Im a Newbie

I just pm notgoing2bald and he told me that its rare not to loose new ht hairs and im one of the lucky ones. Im getting a little confused because jana says they will leave in 3 to 5 months probobley. Whats the real deal Bill,joetronic or spex

Agentharley what you wrote is what I believe also. Hair shaft falling out and I did not bleed either!!! The hair foliicle that is deep inside is attached and secure after 10 days they say. So the hair that we are losing in the shaft is a great sign that the new follicleis like pushing out the old for the new. Its strange how some guys loose there grafts fast and other guys it takes some time. Are you gents putting rogaine foam or minox on your transplanted area. My doc suggested after 2 weeks post op to start applying the med to my ht area for faster growth I wonder if this is the reason my new hts are not falling out because its making my hair stronger. The meds really worked for me before my ht. Just look on my blog pics using the meds alone for 2 months prior to my hairtransplant. Thats great that we are 9 days apart from our procedures. We can get some sort of idea where we stand in our happy hair growth. I will be watching your guys progress.
