  1. Aaron I would love to see Doctor E in Boston. When is he coming and where will he be? I would like to have him examine my progress and see what the game plan is for the future. Thanks Dennis from Boston
  2. the new ht hairs have all stayed pretty much!!! Over the last couple of weeks my mid scalp/crown has thinned out big time (shockloss). If you look at the shot where I have my head down it looks terrible. But im not going to complain its early in the ball game and its not over on the crown mid area. Hopefully it will all come back.
  3. Houston your ht looks very nice after the 8 day pics. you got a very clean neat ht from what I can see. Congrats!!!!
  4. Im growing it out now!!! I just wanted the minox to penetrat the scalp better. I did get major shockloss on the crown!!! one pic shows it bigtime, but im praying it all comes back. Also wanted my hair short so my donor scar was being thouroughly cleaned and moisterized to not have infection and reduce scar size to pencil line
  5. sorry but I thought I could post more on one page, no luck. I did put up a new photo album with 4 or 5 pics with frontal
  6. shockloss crown/mid scalp came late and went fast. New ht hairs pretty much still intact which is rare.
  7. It seems I did get shockloss very late on my crown and mid head area. I had the frontal 1/3rd down with my ht. if you look at my before pics on my web blog you will see the difference. My crown and mid area where pretty good and did not even consider an ht there, but boy its thin now!!!!

  9. Actually you can be a rare case as myself. I have kept over 90% of my transplanted hairs. I am at 3 months post-op and these puppies aint movin. I did start to use minox from 2 weeks after my ht. I kept my hair short as you asked and was using the minox twice a day and proscar once a day. It can happen bro, but it is rare. Like I said I Have all my ht hairs pretty much. I skipped the ugly duckling stage. I am going to post my 3 month progress very soon. I only have post-op and 1 month pics. So bro yes it is very possible, but rare.
  10. I read a post before on this before. It has to be your hair only it said. Look on the search engine and you might find it. it was 2-3 months ago.
  11. Im glad you have done your homework. I popped Dr. T on the search engine and Pat the facilitator gave this doc a great thumbs up. keep me informed bro
  12. Good analysis emperor, that sounds very logical, because I know for a fact my crown area has lost a good amount. I have before pics on my weblog and we will see the difference when I put up my next set of pics. I hope we get our back bro!!! How long have you been waiting?
  13. Had an ht almost 3 months ago on my frontal 1/3rd area. No ht to my crown/mid section. Can you experience no shockloss on the ht area and then experience shockloss on your crown/mid section from a ht procedure???

  15. I am a little under 11 months post op. I Did not loose many grafts in my transplanted area. I saw from reading posts that this was rare and I did not fall into the catagory of most of the guys, because there ht grafts did fall out. I have been staying away from the mirror and I have been allowing nature to take its course. I have been a bit of a junky in one area and every month I have been shaving my head down to a #1 buzzer or shorter (stubble look) My mind is saying the minox will penatrate better on short hair and my donor scar will heal better with a little more air and aloa vera being supplied to a shaved head. I guess I just want the scar to get healed as soon as possible and to be as thin as possible. But tonight for the 1st time in 3weeks I took a look to see whats been happening in the mirror. I did go into my bathroom with the bright lights and diagnosed my head!! I was in shock at what I noticed and thought WoW!! This seems very strange!!! My ht area 1/3rd frontal has not had any significant shedding of lost grafts. I then looked at my crown area and it looked really thin compared to what I had before my ht. It was thicker and now its lookin pretty bad in that area. I never planned on an ht on my crown because it was not so bad. But know it looks really thin. So whats up with that guys??? Ht area no shedding of any big amount and looks nice and crown took a turn for really worse. I am on proscar and I was on Proscar and minox only 2 months before my ht. This is strange would think??? loosing my crown fast!!! and not loosing newly transplanted grafts. I am thinking shockloss at a rapid rate in the crown and middle of the head. I am not going to shave my head anymore and just let the hair grow out to see what the difference is. I always thought my crown/middle head was pretty strong compared to the frontal 1/3rd. I hope its just temp shockloss and just curious why the possible shockloss went to the crown/middle of head and not to the newly transplanted hair in front. Has any one ever heard of this type of situation. I would greatly appreciate any input.

  17. Thats great that your health care will take care of it for you. You will need a script from your primary doctor to get approved for the co-pay. Just tell the doc why you want proscar and be honest with him. Tell him that loosing your hair is bothering you and you are starting school and you want to keep your remainding hair for the future. Yes same active ingredient finasteride!!! proscar & Propecia Some primary doctors will not approve proscar and then you will need to see a ht doc and he will give you a script. also try the rogaine foam!! Its a bit pricey but these 2 routines are the best! You can buy the minox which is the same as Rogaine. Minox is the generic name for rogaine as proscar is the generic for finasteride. You are a young guy and I would wait atleast 1 year on the meds to see how they work for you. Everyone is different on the results they will achieve. You might be one of the blessed ones. Again you are young and you dont know what your future will be for hairloss. Say you get an ht and then 3 years down the road you might need another. Its a roll of the dice and you want to make sure you have enough donor hair for your future. Take a look at the men in your family and see what there hairloss has been like. Ask Questions to them on the time frame they started to loose and when it slowed down. My friend please take your time and dont rush into anything. Give the meds time to work and then consult with great docs. I know alot of docs might deny to give you an ht because you might be a little young and these docs are saying this for your best interest. Do you have any pics? Bill is a great guy on this site and I believe he will agree with me. I dont know to much about Dr. Tessler but if I was going to choose a doc, distance would not be my facor. I just traveled in Feb 2008 from Boston To Miami to have my 1st hairtransplant. Remember you are going to have to live with this ht for the rest of your life and your young!!!!!! I would hate to see a mistake ruin your life because I see from your 1st post that this hairloss really bothers you. If I was going to use a doctor from the coalition I would check out my doc Dr. Epstein and Dr. Feller and Hasson & Wong or Ron Shapiro. Thats my list from the results Ive seen on the site. Again never heard of Tessler. I paid Dr. Epstein $7900 for 2953 grafts so your doc tessler is in a pretty good price range of 1500 grafts for 5k. I would not do 1200 grafts for 5k. My doc gives a great price of $3.30 per graft and is not about just the $$$$. Shop around !!! Also tell the doctors that you are using your school $$$$ to get an ht and they just might have compassion because they see this is really bothering you.
  18. $75.00 per month from a local pharmacy. Go to your other question on health insurance. I gave you good advice on how to get finasteride which is the generic propecia at a great price. You will need to cut the pill with a pill cutter in 1/4 tabs and take one per day (walgreens has the best pill cutter with the straight edge razor) you will need to eye out equality
  19. check into proscar its the same as propecia but you will need a perscription from a doc and some health insrance companies will cover this. My health insurance will not,so I pay out of pocket!!! But the cost is way cheaper a 4 month supply for $90.00 to $100.00 where I live . So thats only at max $25 per month out of pocket. Check out proscar on the search engine on this forum. Lots of good info
  20. Let me take a crack at your question??? I think the reason health care would not cover an ht firstly because it is costly. 2nd its a cosmetic surgery and is more of a luxury then a need. I understand what you are saying about depression, anxiety and the pains off hairloss. If health insurance covered hts then alot of people would be on that bandwagon. The health insurance would be also a very high premium to recoupe losses and high payouts. For Acne I believe the reason that health insurance covers this is because it deals with the skin and for some people acne can be painful with soares and pockholes etc. keep your chin up and lets just be thankful that there is a remedy to bring back your hair. What about all those guys in the past that did not have the luxury of being able to have an ht. (fathers, grandparents, im sure they had feelings like this also of depression and low self esteem) press forward my friend, dont give up the rewards of life are givin to those who endure and finish the race. save your $$$$$ (how old are you?) I had to wait 9 years for an ht and I had to save my money. God Bless
  21. I think you should do research on your doc to see who is splitting and who is not. Thats pretty bad!!! If you find the right doc you will not have to worry about being ripped off. I think good docs want there name not tarnished. If I was just coming online and read $$ per graft or Cm2? I would understand the $$$ per graft easyier. Like Bill said what if the doc promised you by a flat fee this amount of money and per cm AND THE DOC COULD NOT GET THAT AMOUNT OUT OF YOUR DONOR AREA. I LIKE PER GRAFT AND I WOULD WANT 90 PER CM NOT 40 PER CM
