Even the very best of the best will have a few negative comments. Most of the time it was unrealistic expectations, low donor available which limited what the surgeon could actually do, and maybe side effects or costs. But most top notch surgeons have good before/after results-- if looking at pics--make sure they are untouched and no airbrush or digital enhancements. Welcome. First mid 20's is the earliest anybody should be considered for a transplant. Most top notch surgeons would not take a patient younger (so this is 1 red flag if the do!) I think 24-25 is probably the youngest. I personally had my first at 23 and should have waited a couple more years. One suggestion, do NOT get aggressive with your donor because you will continue to loose natural hair over the next 20yrs. So you will have to have future procedures. This is the pro/con of doing HT younger. More than likely (not always) you will have to have another HT procedure with future hairloss. BUt the Pro is when you start younger you can stay ahead of the MPB and people really never know you have anything done (it is more subtle than being completely bald and drastic change). This is the approach I took when I made the decision when I was your age. I've had 5 procedures over 15 yrs. With todays advancements and technology, even starting early with potential future losses, I couldnt see anymore than 2-3 total in your life if done by a quality surgeon who has "future progression" in mind and the artistic ability to plan accordingly with your donor. Welcome to the forum. We have many experience verterns of HT as well as doctors on this site. First, I'm sure there are good doctors in India but for HT surgeons, I believe they are probably about 20yrs behind. The main reason is the volume of clients is greater in the West and top HT surgeons are where the demand is located. Thus North America overall has the most and best HT surgeons. I would suggest researching this site for some top doctors -- say 10 that fit what your needs are. Then go to their individual websites and do your own research. Narrow down to 3 for a phone/internet consult. Best of luck. You have one of the best in H/W for a NW6. In my research and insight, Hasson seems to be one of the best for "full coverage" for men like yourself. At 7 months you are probably only 60=70% final. The next 2 months you should see a lot of maturity of the hairs that have already grown-more stronger and thicker shaft-- as well as maybe 10% more new growth. 12 months you should have a good sign of what the results will be BUT some paitents (not the norm) but some see growth and improvement up to 18 months. My suggestion is to wait at least 10 months, then if you not happy have a follow up consult w Epstein. Epstein has a good reputation and give him an opportunty to address it. The condition that you explained (if doesnt get better) sounds like a technique surgeons used in the 90's with grafts. They placed the grafts in certain angles and direction so that when they grow out they "grow over" each other thus haveing the appearance of thicker hair. But this is a very old and outdated technique. With FU grafting and improved technology, I havent heard of TOP 20 physicians doing this placement technique in over 10 years? Dr. Feller also has a good reputation. My personal bias opinion since you just need temple/hairline/frontal core work, is to have a consult with Ron Shapiro in MN. He's one of the best if not the best with proven results on hairlines. He also has done repair work as well as work on other surgeons patients for fill in. He is truly an artist with hairlines. I have researched that sometimes if your hair follicle is predisposed to turning gray, that transplanting it might speed up the process but I dont think this has been scientific validated. I will say, I know of some patients personally who have experienced this. Zinc with B6 is suppose to help slow down graying???? Women and men although not talked about much, experience huge hormone changes and different HRT drugs act different with each person--much like birth control pills. I would consult both a dermatologists and your OBGYN. Also a nutrienist might be able to access your daily minerial intake and offer suggestions on your diet. Make sure you are getting enough folic acid and fatty acids (Omega fish ect). In addition, women need more protien in there shampoos than men-- so make sure your shampoo has a protien treatment once a week. With HT, more and more women are having HT. This is common request by most surgeons. Rogaine can increase bleeding during surgery, Shapiro said stop 1month before surgery. Stay on Propecia and can add Rogaine 1wk post-op and add to frontal area as well as it can help stimulate growth and shorten dormant period.

Mid 20's is not too young if you have a history of MPB and have already experience some stages of it. Charging for a consultation is crazy. That tells me that doctor isnt doing enough cases/surgeries to make money, so he charges consult fees so he can pay his vacation home,ect. Some docs like to shave the head as it is easier and faster for them. But most give the option to the patient. I have never shaved my head. I did a ton of research over the past 15 years. Dr. Lehr is in OKC, he was hand selected by the reknown Dr. Norwood before Norwood retired. He trained 5 yrs under Norwood then upon Norwood retirement, he bought the practice. I think he graduated #1 in his medical class and does other costmetic procedures at one time--Facial and scalp stuff. I have visited with him about 5 years ago and he seems like a nice person. Many men who have limited donor hair decide to focus on the frontal core and hairline with intentions of later having a system for the crown. With your HT surgeon, you might be able to design a plan without using a system on crown. Depending on angle placement and hairstyle-- ALSo with the improvment of concealers for the crown area, you might not need system as well. Last HT, I started a few days post op and it did help shock loss and 75% of grafts did not go dormant and fall out-- most continued growing from the "whisker" implant texture.
