  1. fantastic work from gur as expected and great results. when you are not in bright light this would look so dense. even in bright light , your hair looks dense in all angles except one. Only from one angle i think it looks slightly thin. If you ever go for a second HT then you can ask them to put some grafts there to thicken the frontal area just a bit.
  2. i like the graft placement patterns of dr pittella. he is using limited grafts in huge recipient areas creatively. good luck for results!
  3. welcome.. as a norwood 6 do a thorough research and wait out long waiting periods for good surgeons if you have to because any failure can be a big setback at this stage. if you are doing right procedure FUT/FUE and are in great hands then you stand best chance to utilize your donor to max limit and get good coverage. in my opinion search for surgeons who do nw6 cases.. the names you mentioned are one of the best 2 in FUE. you can search for more surgeons based on budget. if going FUT then hasson and wong in canada do good work. they are best in FUT.
  4. if you are a good candidate for FUT due to great scalp laxity then you can hope for a thin scar, otherwise scar may stretch. and if it does then you might end up using up grafts to fill in the scar area. FUT does open a chance for you to get 1k+ grafts if you are actually a good candidate. People go FUE so that if they have low yield or failed HT then they can just have a buzz cut or shave it off or go smp. but with FUT due to scar, they will have to rely on smp to fix that scar spot too. in body hair, the beard has best survival chance but its slightly(1 percent) lower than scalp donor survival rate.
  5. see over harvesting isnt visible because they increase the donor area. they extract a lot from sides , nape area and also from area very close to crown. The sides area extraction nearly goes upto temple. yes its outside of traditional safe zone but for a nw 6-7 you need to go all in approach. over harvesting is visible when area of extraction is small and lot of grafts extracted from that limited area. And also its lot of their skill. the way they extract , unless there is shock less in donor / more hair loss in donor it always looks good at present. they also use beard grafts when the donor is slightly average or when 9k-10k grafts are done. That way the scalp donor area gets a little relief and doesnt look depleted and shock loss can be avoided.
  6. definitely check with a doctor if you plan to keep taking it. I used oral min for 2 months, at start i got slight swelling in arm and it went away. I checked with doctor and did my annual full body test which i had knowingly planned after a week of oral minox for such situation. everything came out fine and swelling went away in few days so i continued for last 2 months.there was one or two instance of slight tightness in chest in 2 months but i also used to do lot of workout so thought maybe that caused it. I got tightness in chest last week when i took the med and i had to go out and there was slight physical activity done when i had to hurry to catch my movie. Maybe the physical activity caused it or maybe doing physical activity following the med wasnt best idea. I have stopped it and since then nothing. I have hopped on topical min again for time being , I will try to see if i can find out if oral min caused it though little later. For now little scared 😄 . I had taken topical for nearly 6 years without any such issues.
  7. wow your condition doesnt look bad at all with dry hair. If you use toppik after this then i dont think anybody notices anything. Use the meds , fingers crossed there is no sides and you get your hair to thicken a lot more and maybe get some regrowth too in crown area. if it does either of these 2 then its a success. post 6 months you should know if meds are working or not (results take 1 year sure but you can get an idea at half way mark if its doing anything). Then you can consider your options about HT. HT will be always there as backup.
  8. hairline work is quite good. need to see crown results pics.. also inform about the graft distribution details if possible.
  9. are you on meds? i think you can save your crown and avoid HT there. And also i see miniaturized hairs in hairline which can be saved.
  10. do upload the graft placement pics with donor pics. then we can comment on the work done. hairline wasnt lowered much and its quite a good amount of grafts used (3.5k). you should have dense frontal region. if use meds then the miniaturized hairs and existing hair in that area should improve more and help you even more in density.
  11. great result in first HT and crown i thought it looked fine already during results of first HT. But yes it had a thinning look so maybe to get a fuller look there HT was dine by you. Good luck for great results in crown too .
  12. you can consider pekiner too . he also does hairline work a lot. he is just like de freitas. probably a perfect like for like replacement. both brunos are great too. and are in same budget. bruno ferreira does hairline better than pinto in my opinion. since freitas is out so among other two , tough to pick one . Maybe for hairline i lean towards feriduni. but that is my personal hairline choice between the two top surgeons.you can search for their hairline work and decide.
  13. what is qoute from first 2 surgeons ? actually there is a slight preference from surgeons (and there is nothing wrong in it) for the hair type they usually work on. You have straight, fine and light coloured hair. if you had darker, wavy and thicker hair then surely you would get accepted as that is how spanish hair is. Which can give amazing results from HT.
  14. you dont need HT, you are golden for now. meds did great in hairline which is rare
  15. cant say this hasnt crossed my mind too for any future HT i have 😄 seems i wasnt only one.
  16. bro relax.. its all about being supportive. especially to someone going to have his procedure soon. 🙂 this discussion about why a photo was not used/use of hair fibers is not beneficial. soon his pre-op pics will come, then we get the answer to your questions.
  17. see crown always gets less grafts and its a whirl , so for you to see results there you need all the grafts to grow back and grow to good length for more coverage. You can also use minoxidil which helps crown a lot. by 12 month crown should be covered decently and by month 18 your final result will come. after that there will be no improvement coming. at month 12 also you may get final result but depends on individuals.
  18. its tough to judge at 1 month. give it 3+ months and keep checking until month 6. your donor should have filled in by then if its just shock loss. i do agree that it looks depleted for now. overharvesting or shock loss that you will get to know in coming months.
  19. well it might be your existing hair. you are bound to shed them due to hair growth cycle. Doesnt matter what meds you take hair will shed so new healthier hair comes back. 100 hair (+/-50) shed is completely normal per day. But if you are absolutely sure that its transplanted hair then its little worrying .. you can probably document hair growth with pics at different months and compare them and you will know that which areas you are losing/gaining hair. send them over to your surgeon and check with him.
  20. very true that we dont have many people sharing their stories on forums and we might have a small percent of them here .. but just like transplant when large number of people go through with it, the data should come. I agree for this we will have to wait for either publication from research which are large scale. and another way will be word of mouth from results posted on forums. I do wish though that the outcome is positive as we need lot of alternative approach to stopping hair loss other than just oral route in which people worry a lot about sides and sometimes quit even if they dont have any but are scared about it and some people actually do get sides. I dont think oral route is feasible for everyone.
  21. yeah i can agree that fin and dut mostly work on retaining hair for majority . And after sometime they slowly lose them unless they increase their dose. Its in some rare cases that fin increased their hair count at 10 year result mark when compared to the initial hair count before starting meds. Risk is very low with this mesotherapy with dut. There might be only positives even if it just slows down the hair loss. No problem in giving it a shot. Currently not many do it as they want to stick to cheaper and well researched oral meds which do come with certain risk of increased sides and also its not provided in many places. Surely more data from patients will come with this getting popularity just like prp in future.
  22. i also use the "combining it with a meal " idea. I take it 30 mins after breakfast (during water intake regime post meal) where its most easiest to take. I keep it near to place where i keep my water bottle so i dont miss it. afterwards it becomes a habbit which you wont miss even during travel.
  23. considering the big area size and low grafts count it looks good at 5 months. your hair texture will play a big part in final result (for which you need 7 more months). any changes in crown with meds?
  24. better wait out the full one year result and then consult with your surgeon about how much density can be increased safely without damaging existing grafts or native hair. Your expectations have to be realistic so that you dont do more damage than good. Dont rush into second HT, plan it well.
