how to easily manage the "ugly duckling" phase?
Yan bio replied to Yan bio's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
That’s actually an interesting idea 🧐 -
I'm 7 weeks post HT, and waiting is getting more and more difficult.. Now since I have a tendency to look for new signs of growth everytime I see a mirror I had just put all the hand-held mirrors I own in a closet, plus I've put a towel on the big mirrors which I take off only when shaving. That's stupid, I know! But I do feel it makes things easier. I actually do plan to do this for the next 4 weeks (meanwhile, my native hair will catch back, hopefully, after it suffered a pretty harsh shock-loss). Any tips from the veterans? Or just tell me I'm crazy 😅

Is this area bare of grafts?
Yan bio replied to Yan bio's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Oh.. is that it? didn’t know some follicles shed fully and others don’t.. 🙏i thought if it sheds - it sheds completely. I wonder what might affect this. -

Hey everyone! It has been exactly one month post HT with Dr. Maras @ HDC. There's something I have noted - I have an area of the size of around 6x8 mm which looks devoid of any signs of grafts. I've been looking at post 1 week/2 weeks pictures, but this is the location which had some more drastic blood clotting and scabs so it's hard to understand if there were / I had follicles in this area. I've added a magnified photo, one with a yellow marking indicating the mentioned spot and one without. I think this is the only transplanted area which does not show sighs of small hair 'black dots' and I'm concerned it might turn/stay bald There's

Transplant at 22 NW3. Quick question.

Hence the word "IF" in my original quote: "*If* you're having full schedule.. there's no reason for you to.." and only ~3-4-5 surgeons? I'm genuinely surpried 😅 -
Transplant at 22 NW3. Quick question.
Yan bio replied to Dev123's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Just a general note about this logic (with no relaion to H&W or anyone in particular): when someone refuses a patient, it doesn't mean they're being ethical. If you're having full schedule (1 month waiting list or 1 year waiting list), there's no reason for you not to refuse a patient - your supply is already smaller than demand anyway and refusing a patient does not represent any potential loss of money. -
Continued growth right after a transplant

When is it safe to say sheding is less likely to occur? After 1 month with no sheding? -

What about maras? -
Hey, this is immediately post op: And the one above which says “before” is of course the pre-op im not sure what is the density, but by calculating that my transplanted area was about around 48 cm^2 and 2950 grafts were inserted, maybe it’s an increase of arouns ~60 per cm

38 YO, been on minoxi+propecia for the last 8 years. Balding status is stable. I wanted to strengthen my hair line becuase the only way I like my hair style is ~5-6 cm long brushed to the back with clay/wax. Sounds stupid I know but it really does change the way I look and feel. I was Tired of using toppik and devoting20 minutes every morning to hair styling. Iinitially the Dr evaluated ~2000-2200 hair follicles will be needed, but during transplantation I've been told my scalp is actually in a very good condition and we can achieve quite high density (as you can see, my initial condition is relatively ok), and eventually 2900 follicles were transplanted. We also lowered the hairline in about 1 cm (1.5..?). We didn't adress my crown as it is quite good, and I don't mind continue using toppink in this area as it's much easier to apply there. Here're my 2 weeks results. Ofcourse I know this is probaby going to shed, but as everyone I pray (and probably be disappointed) it won't
