  1. A few more photos. This is what my hairline looks now .. that “cowlick” on my left temple doesn’t help it at all. It definitely adds to the thinning appearance. as for the donor area, here’s what it looks like now with a skin fade. FUE definitely isn’t a scarless procedure by any means.
  2. i was told the reason for thinning COULD be due to further recession, which isn’t really crazy to think about because my thinning was starting to get worse before I had the surgery … but he primarily said to give it more time before we came to any conclusions because even at 13 months there could still be more growth on the way.
  3. thank you for the input. Yes, I see now that I should’ve never gotten a transplant but at the time I was desperate. im on fin now 3 mg per week (M W F). I’m going to carefully consider a second , smaller FUE procure to add density to my left temple, though tbh I will probably just leave it as is and hope it gets better. I don’t have the energy to go through a second procure again. It’s a lot of stress and waiting then for me to only come out more unhappy in the end only puts makes it harder for me to convince myself a second surgery is worth it.
  4. Hello everybody, I've recently completed the one year mark (almost at 13 months now) of a 700 graft (350 each side) FUE procedure in the East Coast. I've always been light on the temples and soon as I hit 30 i noticed it started to get worse. that's when I opted for a hair transplant. Which im starting to believe was probably one of my worst ideas yet. i feel like it has made my temples even worse. the first 4 pictures are me now, the last 2 with a blurred face was me before transplant, the Last 2 after that was on the day of the procure. as bad as it was before the procedure, I could've just grown it out and hid it pretty well. now it's almost like there's an un natural looking bald spot on the left side of my head no matter what I do. obviously this is an extremely depressing and frustrating situation for me. not even so much the money I spent (that too) but much, much more so, not getting the results I was hoping for. now I'm on the fence, another HT would just be more money and stress/headache, but at the same time it's extremely aggravating to leave it the way It is now. what are your thoughts? is another procedure and more money / stress worth it ? thanks in advance. TL;DR I should've just gone to Turkey 🙃
  5. appreciate all the replies everyone. as for my procedure, had a 700 graft fue done on my frontal band area to address thinning. ever since I was a teenager i was always thin on the corners of my hairline. soon as I hit 30 i feel like it started to get worse. picture of me with headphones is what I looked like pre surgery , then the 2 post surgery pictures showing the grafts, then what it looks like now 3 months post surgery Dr says everything is looking good/normal and I do have faith in him seeing as he's a reputable doctor whose work speaks for itself, but of course I can't help but to be impatient and anxious for the final result.. this is obviously something that's very important to me, as I'm sure it is for everyone else on here.
  6. here's the 3 month update.. still looks pretty bad , still can see the little holes and redness. I know 3 months is too early to see results but I would've guessed the donor area would be well beyond healed by now. Just emailed my Dr. and awaiting his input on this though, it is getting better.. just very slowly so.
  7. it seems like the general consensus is that after an FUE you're expected to let the hair grow to mask the scars .. i always shave the back of my head (high skin fade) and honestly believed that a 700 graft FUE would be minimally evasive enough to still be able to keep the back of my head shaved. I'm reaching the 4th week post surgery in a couple days now and it's still red , still slightly tender, and (what really concerns me) is the little "holes" that are still there ... however, I have been buzzing it so maybe that was irritating it more like other posters have said. I sent that picture to my surgeon and he assured me this was normal and fine. I'm going to remain patient and wait another 2-3 weeks (without buzzing it) before I really start to raise more concern ...
  8. Hey everyone, recently had a 700 graft FUE procedure done at a pretty reputable clinic in NY, however, like the title says.. this is now 3 weeks post OP and the donor area still looks pretty bad. after a quick Google search every other result that popped up claimed the donor area should go back to normal after 5 or so days. just wondering if this is normal or not. Obviously I have reached out to the clinic that worked on me before coming here and am awaiting their response, but in the meantime I figured I'd see if I can get anyone here who's had experience with FUE to weight in on it for me. I'm gonna wait it out and see if it'll heal more.. but 3 weeks post op is definitely starting to get to the point where the worry sets in.
