  1. Hi guys. I started oral min 6 weeks ago. 2.5mg dose. The last week I’ve been feeling very tired and had a few dizzy spells. I’m contemplating stopping min, to see if I feel better. After just 6 or 7 weeks, I assume it won’t be at the detriment of my hair? I’m 8 weeks post op and all is going well. I would like to stop oral minoxidil. I’m fine with Finasteride.
  2. You drew your own hairline and the doc just went with it?! Is that normal?
  3. Why do some docs round the corners off like this? Looks a bit “Turkey” to me….. Having said that, when it’s all grown out I bet you won’t notice…
  4. I’m relatively new here, so forgive me…. The point I made was, if money isn’t on the table, surgeons won’t get recommended (i think!). Dr Reddy was an interesting one. When I approached him I thought he was recommended, but he wasn’t. Well, he was, then he wasn’t! Now he is again! Thats how it is. I get it. It’s a bit clicky!
  5. I had an online consult with Ted Miln. He’s a lovely bloke. He’s a warm and honest person. I also had an in person consult with Mani Mital, who I also really liked. a different character to Ted. More relaxed. I think they are both good, in my opinion. It’s very difficult mate. The recommend Surgeons list is useful but it’s worth remembering that they pay to be recommended. One of the reasons I went where I did, ironically, is because my doc is highly regarded here but doesn’t pay to be “recommended”. I was actually put off by the list!!! You’re a completely different case to me. This forum is great, but the research shouldn’t stop here.
  6. Fair enough! Just wondered if anyone else had done it! Forget I said anything.
  7. Hi lads. Hair getting very fluffy on top now and would like to start putting wax or paste in it. Would that be ok at this point? Don’t want to nag my patient coordinator too much so thought I’d ask if you lot have done so… cheers
  8. Is this guy the best in the world for bigger cases? Certainly seems to be a candidate! looks amazing, mate.
  9. Yeah, I’ve got it from there mate. I’ve noticed this company called ‘Manual’ sell it too. Seems to be cheaper. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
  10. I understand not everyone is as relaxed about telling people. I also understand many wouldn’t go out during the ugly duckling phase without a hat. I’m lucky that it was a small case and my shedding, to this point, isn’t that bad! I do honestly believe nobody cares or judges people having a transplant though. The only comment I get is “how did you afford that?” To which I reply “with great difficulty”! observations so far…. In an ideal world, I’d have gone slightly lower with the hairline. It’s 6.5cm to my eyebrow. My forehead muscles are quite high and Bruno was adamant that we respect those and stay with the outline of the hairline that remained. Temple points could be improved, but again, he was happy with them and I think they look ok. Will I need another surgery? Who knows. The feeling was that I probably won’t. My hair is very fine so will always look “thinner” than your average Joe. having started 2.5mg minoxidil since the operation, I’m intrigued to see if I notice any difference to my hair generally. I do think I may have had some shock loss of my donor but it’s hard to say. Again, my hair is very fine!
  11. I got my pics back from the clinic earlier….. just in case anyone wants to see straight after surgery…
  12. Melvin, you know more than most…. How is this possible? His donor even looks better after the surgery!! Non of it makes sense. Make it make sense.
  13. Can anyone answer how on earth he does this? Doesn’t it put to bed the notion that surgery isn’t for everybody? Seriously… if he can do this, he could do anything for anyone?
  14. You’d be better off calling this topic “help, I’ve got too much hair. Help me get rid of it”! Seriously, mate, you have nowt to worry about.
  15. Given the hairloss on his father’s side, isn’t he quite likely to loose hair behind this transplant, given he’s only 36? Feels a bit risky, no? looks lovely though!
  16. As a massive hat wearer, I’m all for them. As someone who’s always had long hair, they really helped me hide the hair I was loosing at the front! However, I wear hats because I like wearing hats. I’ll continue to do so. I wouldn’t wear a baseball cap but that’s just not my thing!
  17. I’ll be 7 weeks tomorrow. Nowt much to report. Shed a fair bit, I think. Don’t seem to have lost any native hair though…. not paying much attention to it, to be honest. I am very bored of the short hair now though and will not be doing it again! Nothing hurts or itches. I’ve been relaxed about telling people. A lot of support and “fair play to you mate” comments when I’ve told people. The stigma of transplants has gone, I assure you. Just be open and honest about it. NOBDY CARES!
  18. I’m kind of hoping to ride it out, and home my native hair gets long enough to cover it! If not, I like the sound of what you did!
  19. Hey lads. Not the most followed thread but thought I’d do a 4 week update. shedding has started, but that’s to be expected. My donor looks good. Don’t think you can tell anything’s been done really. No numbness. Very little itching. A couple of spots have developed in the recipient area. All in all, everything feels good. I’m going out as normal and just telling people that notice I’ve had a transplant. Not a problem. anyway, here’s some pics right informs of my window. cheers all
  20. A top doc actually told me a story about this. I’m sure he said that Silva actually had an emergency back home, which meant he couldn’t go back the next day to finish his surgery… if you look, it looks like the front line has been done, but he wasn’t able to fill in behind it straight away…. edit… I don’t wish to make light of a horrible situation. It looks like everything turned out ok.. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-6373217/amp/David-Silva-opens-anguish-seeing-baby-boy-fight-survival.html
  21. I’ve been speaking to his patient coordinator, Emilio, via WhatsApp. Very good after care. He’s requests Frequent pictures. I’d say they definitely don’t have a stressed attitude about after care. No bandages after op. Relaxed about scabbing etc. just let the body do its thing.. send pics and Emilio tells you what to do. so far, so good!
  22. I was extremely happy with the experience. Bruno is a really good man, and very skilled. Emilio is a great patient coordinator. Neither of those numbers are his, however. Shall I PM you his number? Not sure it’s right to post it here…..
  23. My surgery was Jan 16th. He was €3.45. You need to contact Emilio, his patient coordinator, on WhatsApp. He’s a really good guy. As for waiting list, I didn’t wait long but was able to fill cancellations. If you can do the same, it will better your chances.
  24. Hello! For those interested, it’s exactly 3 weeks since my surgery. All seems fine. I think I’m starting to shed a little. not really thinking about my hair. What will be will be! a reminder of my (pretty decent!) start point
