  1. This is Dr Pinto, in Portugal. Really didn’t expect this expense! Is it unusual to have to do blood tests?
  2. As the title says guys. I hadn’t budgeted for this added expense and naively thought I’d get them done on the NHS! does anyone have any advice?
  3. I think this is perfect. It’s incredibly natural. Job done, in my opinion. im in with Bruno in Jan. if I can get a similar result, ill be delighted.
  4. At what stage are the grafts “safe”? I’m a builder so assumed, given my surgery is on a Monday, I could return to work the following Monday…. Any advice on that?
  5. I’ve just booed my window seat, for the return flight! Did you fly the day after surgery, mate?
  6. yeah I contemplated business class! Did you just upgrade on the day?
  7. Hi all. I’m booked in with Bruno Pinto on January 15th. I’m from the UK and will, obviously, be flying for my surgery. 45 quid! Bargain! Anyway, I’m a bit clumsy and worried I might do something to hurt the grafts! Does anyone have any tips? Maybe pay for a better standard of travel? Gonna feel a right tit at the airport! Can’t imagine there will be many transplant folk about! anyway, if anyone has any tips, I’d really appreciate it.
  8. So, after cancelling, I’ve booked back in with Pinto and got a cancellation for January! mad said above, my hairloss is mild, but it saddens me when I see myself! I’ve been told by a UK doctor that I’m unlikely to need a second transplant. I think I will, at some point, and I’m happy to do so. I will continue to commit to Finasteride. my only worry is he turns me away, on the day! Here’s hoping he won’t! This was suggested by another doctor, in a recent consultation…
  9. It really is a hypothetical…. When I was thinking of going abroad, I had this nag in the back of my head saying, “what if I travel there and they can’t do the op… what if I’m loosing more hair than I think” etc…. The problem with going abroad is that you can’t realistically have an in person consult, before hand. just wondering really!
  10. Hi guys…. Just wondering if this is the done thing? If you had a UK consultation a few weeks back, but decided to go with a clinic abroad, is it a good idea to tell the clinic abroad about what was discussed at that consultation? Hair calibre, required grafts etc…. just a hypothetical! face to face consults are ideal, but if you can’t meet your surgeon untill the day of the op, maybe it’s a good idea to share the info?
  11. This is really interesting! Feel like I should shave mine to see what I’m hiding! Always worn my hair long and, while the front has gone thinner, I assumed everywhere else was ok! My dads dad was slick bald at 40. My dad is thinning at 67 in a NW 6 pattern, but nowhere near what his dad was…. Interesting…
  12. Is it me or does he look like he’s got one of those dodgy Turkish hairlines?!! Seems to have shaved his head recently again, and can’t help but think he’s had something done….
  13. For what it’s worth, I got in with Pinto really easily. His Coordinator was really good. I’ve since had to cancel (really regret it now!) but his wait list wasn’t too long at the time….
  14. This just popped up on my Facebook! Fair play, some just get lucky! nothing more to say really!
  15. Hey mate… any pictures to share? It would be a big help to us here in the UK…
  16. I think we all need to understand each individual…. I look a lot older with my hair off my face…. Because my hairline is thin. If you recede, have a smaller forehead, and the hair that’s left isn’t think, it looks good. I think I’m a good example of what doesn’t look good… I thinking hairline with a big ish forehead. Not “bald” by any means but it definitely ages me!
  17. Seriously, I think this is ridiculous! Mate, I can not see any reason at all for you to have issues with your hairline. It’s pretty perfect! I think it’s the most “you don’t need a transplant” post I’ve seen on this forum.
  18. I’d like to see more of his work. More close ups and comb throughs…. I’ve spoken to him and he is a really nice guy.
  19. Hi all. just a quick one. I was booked in with Dr Pinto for Later this year. I’ve since had my hair cut shorter and realised that, for now, I can hide any issues I have. I’m disappointed to have cancelled but numerous people on here have suggested leaving surgery as long as possible, so that’s the option I’ve taken. I’m currently on holiday and yeah, I get a bit self conscious when hair is wet, but I think I’ve done the right thing, for now….
  20. He’s probably a bit younger than he looks too… I’ve noticed a trend of younger grey haired men! Must make older grey haired men feel bloody awful!
