Thanks mate it’s all just started happening and tbh wasn’t expecting growth yet so a great start. Id kinda been trying to forget about it having a shaved head since surgery makes it easier to not constantly look then I just started to feel it there and what do you know it’s growing! Lol 😂 excited to see the next few months now

Are you considering kostis and bisanga together or kostis alone? I had a procedure in July with kostis and bisanga. Obviously I am yet to post results but allot of the work coming out of bisanga now is the two of them working together at a reasonable cost as well. Dr kostis I would have good confidence in but obviously I am yet to have results. Check my thread for pics pre and post opp etc. he also did my consultation

I’ve been on minoxidil for 4 months ish in the lead up to my bisanga opp in July no side effects and definitely had improvements in hair quality pre transplant. Hoping it has helped me not get any real donor shock loss and aid in growth of the new hair

1 month update most of the new hair has shed I think. Donor looking in good shape considering I have now had a total of 8500 grafts taken (6k by prohair 10 years ago in 2 sessions and 2500 from BHR this time around.)

So day 19 today just wanted to quickly share a donor pic as it’s growing fast! I’m really pleased with the donor recovery as was a bit nervous but covering well. recipient shed a few hairs already but will be time to wave goodbye to that for a bit soon! also went back into the office on Monday which was only day 14

Thanks for your comments, I agree a major reason for choosing Bhr was their reputation in care of the donor and extraction pattern. We agreed we could take higher than my last opp ten years ago given my age and obvious pattern. The pictures really show the totally even extraction. Makes me excited though knowing I have made a good choice of clinic and done all I can to get the right result. Now to try and just forget it for a while and let the body do it’s thing.

Official pre and post opp pictures came through today. Great to have these to monitor progress. Incredible to see the beard immediately post opp here as it’s completely healed today on day 11 tbh was healed in a week and looks like nothing has been taken

I actually have pics from previous prohair surgery here opp one and two in order here but I still had some native hair (also included my pre opp state 10 years ago) all that native hair will have been lost by now and made it appear thinner. Also worth noting is a very fine hair diameter. Someone could have 6k with thick hair and look very different.

Hi mate I had two oops of 3k each in 2012/13 totalling 6k. dr bisanga and kostis suggested under in person consultation that I could have around 4K available left from scalp plus obviously a good amount of beard. This opp was 2.5k scalp and 700 beard. So In total I e had 8.5k out of my scalp. This time we could go higher in my hair line then usually would be done say when I’m 25 given that the hair there has never diminished so can be deemed safe to use so provided a nice amount. But grafts as you can see we’re spread all over. My left side was not touched this time meaning I have some definite reserves, the exact amount will be judged at a later date as the plan will be to reinforce the frontal third in 6-12 months time.

Hi all, I wanted to document my recent experience. Hopefully this will be useful to follow as covers a range of things I know people are interested in: crown transplant, oral minoxidil user, combination of Bisanga AND Kostis and beard hair. So hopefully an interesting or helpful thread, and hopefully for me help me through the coming months of recovery and hopefully 🙏 growth! so the stats: i am 37 I have had two previous FUE with Prohair Clinic Belgium (they now focus on SMP as the lead doctor retired). These totalled 6k grafts and covers front then the rest in two separate ops 10 years ago. These were successful from my perspective, but ten years on I had least any native hair I had then (not any meds until recently) and wanted another transplant. Long story short I had several consultations remotely from recommended doctors and travelled to Belgium from uk in April for a face to face consultation with BHR. Having done allot of research BHR we’re my number 1 choice. Dr Bisanga was unable to be there (family emergency) and I was offered the choice to change date or see dr Kostis, I was happy to proceed with Kostis. After having 6k grafts in my previous surgeries I was keen to understand what was possible and in a detailed consultation with dr Kostis these were my results: Hair Character - Straight Hair Thickness - Very Fine Donor Density - 70/70/80 (average - 73FU/cm2) Hair Groupings - Mainly 1 and 2 hair grafts Pattern of loss - If no previous surgery, likely a NW7 progressive pattern i was very surprised when The doctor suggested I had in the region of 4-4.5k scalp grafts in the bank and a good beard and 2 separate surgeries were discussed to address frontal third density and the crown. The crown bothered me the most and as all my hair in the front was transplanted hair (so pretty safe) we agreed on a plan of 2.5k scalp and 500 beard to address the crown. After this we would review to see what was achievable with the remaining donor. Oral minoxidil was recommended to reduce miniaturisation of my donor and strengthen overall all my hair ready for surgery. with my very fine hair and hair groupings I knew that this is still an illusion of dentistry even at that graft number due to the actual number of hairs we’d get and diameter of each. i won’t go through the whole day and build up but happy to answer questions, what I will say is Ian the patient liaison is superb and tbh a big reason for me picking Bhr as I had offered from several very good clinics (obviously and the drs and the rep was my no1 reason!) but he was so detailed and responsive. The in person consultation for me with dr Kostis was critical as if I’d have been told what I was told without an in person using microscopes etc I would not have believed it. i was offered dr kostis and bisanga as a pair or you can have either on their own all at different price structures. This is made very clear. I was very comfortable with dr kostis and trusted the partnership which I believe is the package offered initially to most now. on the day (Monday 25th July) It was not easy I won’t lie as was there from 730am until prob 930pm but the whole staff were amazing both drs and all the technicians who worked so hard with no breaks. The anaesthetic was allot more painful than I remembered! But it’s a means to an end! Bisanga I believe did all my incisions and kostis all the punching extractions. The same tech team is used regardless of dr choice which was a great point made by Ian as they play such an important role. we ended with 2500 scalp and 700 beard and I could t be happier with my choice of clinic. Obviously no results and I have to trust the reputation of the clinic here. id like to thank them all as hardly got to see them all before I left as it was so late but after spending 13 hours solid with them, they were lovely people and made me feel very relaxed and safe. We even had a few laughs at times!! here are my immediate post opp crown and day after the donor. I will share all the official pictures from the clinic when I receive them and will share pre opp below as well again official pre opp will follow. and breathe! If anyone wants details of the day etc I am happy to answer but didn’t want to give my life story.

Do you mind me asking why you stopped? I have been taking 5mg for past 2 months ish in the lead up to a bisanga transplant

It’s called a luxury studio think it has a little kitchen and stuff but not sure what I can do for food round there so any tips would be good as obviously not fancying going anywhere with a bloody head 😉

Hi mate great write up and looking forward to see your progress. I have a transplant booked with Bhr at the end of July and have booked to stay in that value hotel. Just wondered what the issue was with it? I booked the large suite room as I thought it may be a little uncomfortable just wondered if it’s something to be concerned about? As it seems so convenient to be able to walk there! Wishing you the best for your recovery and future hair growth!

I started on oral minox 5 weeks or so ago and noticing quite allot of shedding I am hoping that is a sign it’s going to work. Time will tell but I trust the recco of the doc in this case who recommended it ahead of my transplant in July

Hi mate I actually am in process of booking a face to face with him. Just worried he may not want to do it if I’ve had 6k grafts from a different clinic as may not be an optimal patient to work with but that may be me being overly worried. My experience with hair dr has been great communication wise so far so don’t want to judge myself just interested to hear from patients.

In consultation it was made clear that only dr arshad would do all punching and incisions given I’ve had multiple transplants it’s a more tricky procedure.(so that’s a positive having them most experienced doc doing that part) But just wondered what made 2021 throw up quite a few bad results from them after loads of good ones. thought maybe I experienced technicians doing the placement and prep or something perhaps but that’s just me guessing. I’m due for a consultation with bisanger hopefully next week to get a in person look. But at least I have an option in the bank with dr arshad just want to be as confident as possible like everyone!
