  1. Depending on your expectation, if you will be fine with only frontal restorarion via FUT, i think it will look good with very conservative doctor who works with less grafts, Bernstein in NYC specializes in small graft proceedures, i think Dr Wesley in NYC as well, & Dr Dorin.
  2. I would just use fibers, vitamins, dermaroller till the wheels fall off. Prolong not getting ht for as long as possible, cause if you going to NW6+ you will keep needing more hts. Better wait till very end & get it done then( granted your donor will be sufficient). By 40, you will get a better idea which part of donor is more dht resistant & safer to use.
  3. From what i understand fin can slow down progression of further loss like lateral humps, crown dipping lower & some studies state it can thicken donor area . This made me wonder why some doctors still don't recommend it. Certainly topical would not be useful for NW6-7, but oral , i would think can still be of benefit.
  4. I would like to know if any solid Norwood 6 or 7s who take fin or dut actualy see any benefit? The 2 doctors that i consulted with told me it will not benefit NW6+ , & thus did not prescribe me any , even though i was willing to try microdosing.
  5. I would not proceed with transplant in this situation, considering your age & none response to meds, it might not end up well. Talk to De Freitas about this, they might refund your deposit, he has a long wait list & surely in no loss of prospective clients. Hair systems came a long way, and can look very realistic, search on youtube, some great tutorials on how to get started .
  6. There was some research that finasteride impacts GABA receptors in brain, which can cause anxiety, ocd etc in some people. It's best to consult with doctors before taking this medicstion & if one is prone to aforementioned, probably best to not take it.
  7. Thank you! Seems i did have some shock loss in some areas of donor, based on patches in the back, 5k grafts over 2 days is no joke -) hopefuly in few months it will improve further.
  8. Quick update, it is now about 43 days post op, shedding started few days after last update . Also, showing donor area, i have not trimmed nor cut hair.
  9. Give it few more months & also let the doctor see this as well, some people start growth a bit later, don't be discouraged.
  10. It would be helpful to see some pics & who was the surgen?
  11. I was on 1.25 mg fin back in 2009-11, before there was generic 1mg. It worked well for about 2 yrs, but eventualy it started losing effect. My doctor at time tried to increase dose to 1.75mg. I then started noticing sides, & was advised to quit immediatly. Now that i reached NW6, the 2 doctors i consulted with advised me there is no point even microdosing as i lost most hair on top & fin does not stop hair loss but slows down. I think those with retrograde & dupa might benefit from fin , but most NW6-7 with relativly strong donor, will probably not see much benefit.
  12. His work looks very natural & has excellent donor management skills based on photos from patient reviews, looks good to me!
  13. Excellent progress! the crown filled up well, considering the high contrast between scalp and hair, it is now barely noticable. I would be happy if my crown will also look same, we have similar contrast.
  14. Its always best to first have an in person evaluation with your local reputable doctor to rule out any conditions such as retrograde, dupa, etc, from side view pic its difucult to assess if there is any thinning of that donor section.
  15. I don't think you need any transplant, hair looks perfect.
  16. The donor area looks very much improved, and its only been a month.
  17. Which method he use, implanter pens or premade slits?
  18. If you have any skin conditions like Rosacea etc, i would be cautius of topical minox, especialy at night as it will get on pillow & face.
  19. Sorry to hear that, at what age did you do the surgery? Has the doctor looked at hair density of donor to not harvest from unsafe areas?
  20. It's different for everyone, i notice very few hairs shed since day 20, some say the sooner most of it sheds the sooner it grows, not sure if it's true .
  21. The donor looks great, lateral humps are high, i think 5k grafts with right surgen will be more than enough for good coverage & frontal density, the contrast between scalp & hair is low, which is very good.
  22. I am only 22 days post op & honestly, after 10th day of ht i came out of the house for the 1st time without a hat in 10+ yrs. I forgot how liberating it is to finaly have hairline in long damn time😀
  23. Certainly a tough situation for OP. On one hand doc can rebute and say "why did you just not say no to such design? " on the other, you felt he knew what is best & did not want to protest professional's opinion. Inmo, its very important to trust yourself as to what you really want. For my surgery i was prepared beforehand to not accept, under no condition V shave hairline, that is just my preference to have more round desin, others might feel differrent, but i was glad my surgen drew what i pretty much had in mind.
  24. Not shocking, with his excellent results, Seems NW 1s book years in advance knowing damn well by the time their consultation they will be NW6 😀
