Hair Transplant ‘Top up’ for density
TheGreatPretender replied to Leadley's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
A word of advise, don't just Google around for surgeons. Search for them well enough to know about them and build a shortlist based off the results similar to your situation/needs. Trust pilot, Facebook, Instagram, etc are just NOT a good place for reesearch, forums such as this one are what you are looking for to make the right choice. -
Eugenix: Sleep quality days after HT
TheGreatPretender replied to homebound's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
I practiced sleep weeks earlier before op and was able to sleep quite well post surgery. I remember that I used to fall asleep while just watching a show or playing a game while being in a neck pillow. -
Oral Dutasteride
TheGreatPretender replied to Big Rome's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Have been on it since first week post op. I honestly dont care about side effects, I am willing to ram my system off if necessary to get my hair back but in regards to that I feel the same way I did before starting and pretty much completed a month. Dont plan to stop either as I want to speed up results as quick as I can. So I have been on the combo Dut 0.5 + Oral Minoxidil 5MG once daily each. -
Procedure with dr. Freitas
TheGreatPretender replied to Mat16's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
He is a good doctor and will likely give you a good result. Good choice or not that is subjective. My advise to you is to consult with different surgeons and get a general idea on what they would want from you before taking any final decisions. I did my procedure with him but for you it may be different depending on your preferences such as styles, implantation methods, Tech involvement levels etc. If you have it done already and feel that de Freitas is still your top choice then by all means book it. -
Yep. But that is because I am looking for a more androgynous look overall so long hair matches my goals. And mine do grow very long pretty quick, even the thinning ones. I remember back in the day when I started thinning out they used to keep my hairline from being exposed. The saloon lady just asked me if I wanted to get some extensions since they could help me mask my thinning, I told her to do what she had to so we opted for that. Once I cut them down it was a nightmare and I truly saw how bad it was getting. My biggest mistake was not starting fin by then, but that's another topic.

I think at that point I will just go to the saloon and add extensions ahah. I need my hair long, fibers aint just gonna cut it tbh. Hopefully Oral Minoxidil can boost that area, Doc said I was a norwood IV and not V which came as a surprise to me and mentioned both Oral Min and Dut could potentially help the crown recover a bit.

I think you should be out of the Wds in that regard already. I am quite optimistic that starting next month or the one after you should have a bit more improvements then now. I just hope I can have a good amount of hair at month 9 because I am going to a concert around that time. I will fill the back of the crown with some nice extensions if I need to ahah.

Don't want to speak so soon cause I still have ways to go but I am on my 4th week and like you I have seen minimal shedding so far. Don't get me wrong, I still see lots of transplanted hairs coming out but not as many as I was expecting. I suspect the next few weeks will see some form of accelaration within the shedding phase before new hair starts growing again. I think you had something similar.

Honestly I am a big fan of Long Hair so in order to try and make it look fuller I will always resort to Extensions. They will come with maintenance costs, howeaver they are great if you're looking to add volume and density. I am not a big fan of Fibers as I have used them in the past, but they're good for people who may like more buzzed styles, which in all fairness ain't my style.

Simple Online Pharmacy is your place to go. For Minoxidil you can easily grab it from Amazon or Ebay, dont know why you went to boots as they are expensive as it comes.

Medication After Transplant
TheGreatPretender replied to Big Rome's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
I would always follow what your surgeon has to say and go along with it. They are there to advise you anyway. As I said numerous times before I would always advise using medication as the first resource when combating this desease and only use surgery as an absolute last means, but to each their own. If you ask me I think you will be fine starting Finasteride at least. -
Medication After Transplant
TheGreatPretender replied to Big Rome's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
I was instructed to stop Finasteride during surgery and start Dut (agreed to switch) day 10 post op but was allowed Oral Minoxidil 3 days post surgery. The reason they gave was mostly due to avoid having too much medication in my bloodstream so stop and start specific ones at specific times. I took no big deal out of it because I knew I would be able to restart and I wouldnt really lose much ground (if any) for stopping. I think they advised Oral Minoxidil starting day 3 so I could get the grafts anchored as quickly as possible since it could help in the healing proccess from my understanding. -
Those are some quick gains man! Impressive for sure. No doubt this can only get better.

Dying hair post fue
TheGreatPretender replied to jamesosterberg's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Depends on the clinic. I wouldn't use any products at such an early stage. My clinic at least tells us to refrain for at least 3 months.- 8 replies

I had a great time sleeping to be honest. It was easy as hell like 90% of the time. There was just one time when I was about to roll over but stopped myself from doing it. But I practiced like weeks before so I knew how to do it and took my own pillow as well which helped. I didn't used the clinics because I felt like it wasn't firm enough to hold me in.
