  1. Having been on topical for two years I am just curious about how much benefit could it bring for transplanted hair though in terms of post op progress. I know each person is different but in theory it could possibly wind the clock forward a couple of months no? This might be one of the reasons why some surgeons recommend Minoxidil (sometimes even temporarary) to get the results quicker then you would expect. I wouldn't expect it to grow it all under a month but possibly accelarate it to the point results start becoming noticeble on month 3 for example.
  2. Sometimes people are too scared of side effects to start taking the drug. Knowing Tate and the minor risk of ED he probably didn't want to risk it happening to himself so he neglected medicine and went straight to a HT without knowing the consequences. I don't think he is being honest about being able to grow a full head of hair because the bald look seems more like a way to hide how messed up his hairline really is.
  3. Yep, oposite to his brother who seems to be taking meds even despite having had a transplant.
  4. Looks great Vann, I am happy that things are going smoothly for yourself.
  5. Absolutely normal, I wouldnt even try and touch it.
  6. Excelent choice, probably would have been my go to doctor if I wasnt in with De Freitas. I think you are in for a great result.
  7. Yeah I will try and see if I can book in a day or two maybe. Because I do acobwledge that I have a bit area that will be filled with grafts so I may book one or two extra days and maybe fly out on the third.
  8. I am booked in for June and I was told that it would be safe to fly out back to the UK post surgery. I am only afraid for bumping in to anyone so am considering staying a couple of extra days as precaution but not sure atm. It scares me to death just the thought of it.
  9. Interessting, it goes in line with what I think. It seems De Freitas is highly strict when it comes to his own transplants which doesnt seem to be a bad thing. Also out of curiosity how did you get the extra days at the hotel and how much you paid for it?
  10. Honestly, I wouldnt go for a transplant anywhere in the UK. I speak this as a UK resident because there is just no surgeon here that produces the same quality results as doctors from Belgium, Spain and Portugal. There are no shortages of good surgeons to look for outside, especially in europe. I would still consider increasing the budget for your surgery though to get better results because finding a good surgeon at that sort of price is usually a needle in a haystack, especially if your baldness is advanced. Results > Convenience
  11. Hah! Someone is also a Final Fantasy 7 fan, respect! I honestly Am planning to grow above and beyond, once it reeches the desirable lenght Im not planning to cut it off. It will likely be a hassle to maintain it as I do have oily hair + dandruff so I am planning to probably wash it more often but man, to have those luccious hairs just growing to the front, sides and back I say its 100% worth it. I have been told to have a good donor, so hopefully I can pull it off. It will likely also give the flexibility to comb both sides where needed, which I find it great.
  12. It has been something that has been lingering in my mind as I have been planning to grow shoulder lenght hair post HT, I am a Diffuse NW5 shapped, howeaver unlike several in my situation I have lots of thinning hairs growing as long as thicker ones so hopefully this will help me get to the end result. This is something I will discuss with my doctor once HT comes, but from my understanding is easier to hide thinning with longer hair then short, so this should play in favour to anyone planning to grow it this way.
  13. I live in the UK and I second this. You shouldn't trade your results for convenience, if you want to go down this route you should always do your diligence and chose a clinic that you are able to travel without much fuss, there are loads of them around Europe.
  14. I read somewhere that he indeed had a HT at some point during the mid/late 2000s after Batman Begins. I think he gave an interview admitting his surgical intervention.
  15. It's usually safe to say that, howeaver you want to make sure that you have explored the maximum capacity of the drug even in terms of stabilization before undergoing surgery just in case. But it's a safe bet that it won't grow back though I have seen some extremely bald hairlines coming back from the dead with just Finasteride and Minoxidil though not very common.
  16. Looks good howeaver you should wait at least a year or two to see if medication is able to possibly give you the results you want, if after that you're still unhappy then go for a surgery. Always remember that this is your last resort.
  17. True, but if I aint mistaken its possible that some of the hairs (not grafts) fell during once some of the scabs healed. From my understanding this is something that may occour sometimes. I might be wrong though, time will tell. Hopefully OP has a good result.
  18. Nop, he recommended me Finasteride 6 days a week when I already have been in it for 2 years back then.
  19. Medication asap, since you are in India you can have a look around Eugenix as they seem to be good with hairlines such as yours. If you are willing to travel you have De Freitas, Bruno Pinto, Bruno Ferreira, Bisanga and Mwamba in Europe. Bicer around Turkey, in EUA Hason & Wong. I may be missing many but these are only some of the good doctors you could check with.
  20. I have a similar pattern and will go to De Freitas this June aswell. Good choice overall, hopefully we will both get some good results out of the surgery.
  21. Looks good, it seems you did your due diligence when chosing the clinic as it seems to have been done meticulously. Overall I think you will have a good result, I would though in your place just let the hair grow longer so you can more easily cover the thinner spots, at least thats my plan aswell for my post surgery. You should be able to have enough coverage by doing this imo since longer hairstyles from my understanding should require less grafts. I am 4 months away from my surgery and I can tell you sometimes I still look on the mirror and ask myself if I really need it since sometimes I feel the meds are actually giving me good results. The problem is that its just in my head the soft ilusion happens because I havent really cut the hair in 6 months. I have been on Finasteride for almost 3 years (in 3 days its going to be the third aniversary) and Minoxidil for almost 2 so it will be extremly hard for meds alone to get where I want to be since the pattern of NW5 actually glows when getting my scalp hit with direct light so surgery will be the only path I will be able to take moving forward. I am also aware that it might require me two surgeries to get myself fully fixed so there is also that... Diffuse thinning sucks and I feel for you but look at the positive side because in the end its very likely that you will come out as a winner in this battle against the so called "slaphead curse" paraphrasing our brother Kevin Mann.
  22. Wow, one of the cleanest jobs I have seen in the forum. Looks great and hopefully will turn into a home run result.
  23. A lot of doctors do tend to refuse operating if the patient isnt medicating or willing to start medication especially when it comes to Finasteride. I think you are still a good candidate for a HT in case you are aware of this because from the pictures you shown you still got some hair and any surgery strategy would have to bear in mind the fact that you would eventually end up losing them on the short to medium run. You can always try and consult with other clinics in the meantime.
