  1. Two trains of thought on this 1. If you’ve had a receding hairline then all of a sudden you can style it like you never previously could…you will 2. Lesser skilled clinics pack the frontal first few rows out. The weird angles help hide the inability to create density right through that frontal 3rd region. Countless clinics show head shots with seemingly amazing results but never pics from above for this reason.
  2. You need to carefully consider how you’ll look in 10-15-20 years and not just the next few years before you get another transplant. There’s a very real chance you would end up a NW6 or even 7 given your baseline now at 30 without meds. Potentially any transplanted hairs taken from outside the safe zone are still at risk, and naturally your native hair will continue to regress. Given your age and aggressive nature of hairloss medication is a must.
  3. For the stage you’re at this is a very very good result already.
  4. I’m 9 months post transplant. My new hair is still developing but has moved on from the thin wirey stage to a mild frizz. It’s fine for 6-8 hours but towards the end of the day frizzes up a little. What’s everyone using to negotiate this stage? I’ve also found styling powder to be effective but I don’t fancy using it on a daily basis as it’s quite harsh on new hair. Gels have always been a no go for me (even when I had a full head of hair) because my hair is relatively thin naturally . Any pointers are much appreciated
  5. Are you lowering your hairline too? Naturally that would add graft numbers to any frontal work.
  6. Best of luck. You’re in very good hands with Dr Bicer (speaking from personal experience!)
  7. Have you reached out to Gurs clinic recently? This does seem a little sparse for the amount of grafts. Yes it’s a large area and may have needed a second pass anyway but I’d also be inclined to say at this stage there should be more noticeable progress in the frontal region.
  8. If you are going doing the FUT route they are top tier. Vastly experienced with a ton of independent cases on line. You’re in very safe hands.
  9. 2 surgeries should get you full-ish coverage with a good Dr. Breaking it up into 2 parts also helps limit the chances of damage to your donor. It can certainly be done in less than 3 or 4 surgeries if you choose wisely
  10. From experience plenty of the top tier surgeons tend to have slow initial contact responses. I’m guessing this is down to the sheer number of enquiries their representatives receive. Don’t let it deter you though, if you have your heart set on a surgeon just keep messaging regularly. They’ll eventually note how serious you are and get the ball rolling.
  11. That’s my personal opinion. For the record I’m a Bicer patient and had a nice result so I may be a little biased in my view.
  12. Personally I’d like to know the Dr performing the surgery and look at their previous results. In this day and age I don’t think that should be too much to ask.
  13. It’s a life medication first of all, if you do choose to use it you need to 100% commit. Stopping a few years down the line means any stabilisation achieved will dwindle and you’ll be back to the point nature intended. If you do intend to use it then jumping on a year prior to your hair transplant is good idea because a) You’ll be able to see if it does stop further recession b) In a small % of cases people respond with new growth (although that’s mainly minoxidil) c) You can be sure your body tolerates the meds d) Dr’s can plan a hairline or procedure in the knowledge your situation is now stable. So they can make a better judgement of what’s appropriate long term for you. Not every Dr will insist on its use. The ethical ones will factor in your age, family history, current hair loss and potential future hair loss before recommending. If for eg it’s quite aggressive and you are only touching 30 then it’s a much better idea to jump on it than say if you are 50+.
  14. This Dr is elite. One of the if not the very best out there I used to say you can’t guarantee every result is going to be decent every time but this Dr’s is. I don’t think I’ve seen a bad case yet? The early growth is phenomenal too. Whatever technique he uses it’s clearly a step ahead of 99% of other surgeons Theres enough evidence across the usual forums and groups to dispel any suspicions as someone has mentioned earlier. The willingness of the clinic to post super high res photos and videos also demonstrates how sure of his work they are.
  15. Steer clear of a transplant and exhaust meds first , the risks in your case far outweighs the benefit. Your hair is still excellent. Yes in your mind you may feel a tad worried having experienced some recession but it still looks natural.
  16. Both are very good with extensive examples across various forums / message boards. Cross platform examples are important as it eliminates bias one forum may have through paid or unpaid relationships with surgeons. (This isn’t a dig any anyone btw, just an observation) I can’t stress enough though no result is guaranteed. Choosing a good surgeon significantly increases the chances of success but there are outside factors beyond a surgeons control that can impact on the final result. Speak to the clinics and get a feel. Take cost out as a factor to start with and weigh up the pro’s and cons. Consider as others have said your hair type, characteristics and experience the surgeons have working with similar cases. If you have any small scalp issues get them ironed out before surgery. Go for blood work pre surgery to make sure you aren’t lacking in anything too. Give yourself the best possible chance of success. I know this doesn’t answer which of the two you listed is best but only you can answer that. After factoring in all the above go with your gut. Good Luck
  17. Outside of the US €11 Euro seems very steep. Some of the best surgeons in the world are still available for between €3.5 - €5 euro a graft.
  18. That’s why I’ve posted shots in harsh light and various styles in my own thread. It’s not fair on people doing their research to try and deceive. Oily yes likewise, doesn’t look as strong. Maybe I’ll add that pic to my own thread for perspective. And obviously goes without saying wet it’s a lot thinner.
  19. If it’s done right you won’t need concealer or extensions. I style mine in a side part and it looks much thicker but even when it’s not styled it looks ok. I only use a small amount of sea salt spray to hold it in place. In harsh outdoor light it holds up very well, it tends to look a little thinner under direct UV light for eg in my bathroom. I can cope with that.
  20. Followed this thread prior to my HT and again after. It really is essential reading for anybody planning a procedure. There’s far too many social media outlets pushing results that are quite frankly impossible to achieve. How many people post surgery are left disappointed and psychologically damaged because of these unrealistic expectations? If only they’d stumbled upon this forum and thread first they would have saved themselves a lot of angst. Here we have pages upon pages from real patients operated on by some of the best Dr’s in the world. Blunt honesty about the pro’s and con’s. It’s funny re reading post transplant how much more you can relate to things! I’m very happy with my own transplant but it does still have the usual weak spots under severe UV light or when parted in a certain way. As a NW5 however given my starting point is absolutely delighted with how it looks. That being said if I was coming in blind and duped Into expecting coverage and density like It was in my teens I’d feel a little disappointed. This is why education is essential for patient well being.
  21. I had a 4000 graft session in one day with Bicer. Looking at your hairline that would be a similar procedure.
  22. Thanks I feel like a new man. The plan is to reassess at month 12 I’ve a second procedure booked to strengthen the midscalp, if needs be can also reinforce the hairline too. To be honest if you’d have given me this as an end result I’d have bit your hand off. Any growth / thickening going forward now is a bonus.
