  1. Why would you take oral Min? Seems very risky.
  2. Yeah not sure how it could come off. More likely is it could lift in a spot...but even this is unlikely. My advice is the sooner you do it the better, I started wearing when I had a tonne of hair that made the transition not noticible and much easier.
  3. I would do your research and go to a renowned top doctor.
  4. Yeah but i guess its only a small expense compared to a very large one, and I would be looking at a lot more than £3000, I'm sure you'll have great results, but I would have to go to a top doctor and I'd be looking at £10,000 even for 2000 grafts. But its never been the cost that concerns me. There are pros and cons of wearing as there would be if i decided to have a HT. I'm happy i've found a solution that I like, that's easy, cost effective and flawless, the only downside is its not all my own hair lol. But i would never rule out having a HT because in the end nothing beats having all your own hair with no help.
  5. True the hairline is the toughest part, what really helped me was going grey...no knots and i'm amazed how it looks, there's just no way you can tell. Having said that there's people with jet black hair who wear completely slick back Hair pieces and look incredible. Hair pieces like HT's have progressed so much over the past 2 decades.
  6. I agree with Grincher, but if I had to pay £2300 a year I'd be going down the HT route. I spend around £450 a year that's everything i need. But I'm in a similar position to London1982, i don't have as much hair loss, I'd imagine I would need around 2000 grafts and that would be me done. I would go to Canada or the US for mine. I would be very concerned about Turkey although i have seen good results there are some scare stories. But its looking good mate I hope you have great results, I'm 47 and I wonder if I'll take the plunge in the next few years. The transition might be a little easier for me as I wear a hairline piece and i might need to wear it a little lower. I do think of it from time to time, but i guess your never ready for a HT until your in the chair.
  7. That's a long tome I've worn since 2007. Sill think of a HT every now and again. I disagree with the above post. Wearing has been amazing for me, and its probably one of the reasons I never had a HT which I'm thankful for given I would have done little research and got bad results. At least now if I did a HT the surgery is sop much better now and the top doctors are well known. And the pieces you can get now are incredible. I don't know if I'll ever have a HT but its nice to know the option is there. of course being on Hair loss forums for so many years I know people who've had HT'S and just not happy they end up wearing anyway.
  8. If you have thin or short sides a thick mop on top can look odd, i would either thin the piece out or grow your sides out.
  9. Blimey $400 a month? I only pay around that for a whole year...you really didn't need to pay that kind of money. Never had a feeling that I was wearing or itchiness. Good luck with your HT.
  10. Yeah its not for everyone. I remember as I wore a hairline piece deciding that I'll keep my hairline and instead fill in the recession, but I was so obsessed I kept looking in the mirror. But as soon as I went back to my hairline piece I hardly ever thought about it, so the opposite was true for me I thought about my hair more when I wasn't wearing it. Of course if the colour doesn't match that's a big problem, I don't have that issue. Some people just can't seal with it, for me its been incredible. Not ruled out a HT though but so thankful I have other options in the meantime.
  11. You only spot the bad ones though, like bad HT's. And if your system never matched your native hair then someone made an error.
  12. Are you sure that above pic isn't a piece?
  13. Theoretically its a good idea as the hairline is always the hardest thing to look realistic. You would still have to match the density correctly. But its certainly an option if you dont have enough donor.
  14. Not sure about that Crickhair especially severe loss, you'd have to have very good donor hair and a very good surgeon, Besides we've all read the advantages and disadvantages of Ht's and Hair pieces so i won't bore people listing them but there are reasons why some people have HT's and some choose to wear.
  15. Yeah and I know people (not wearing pieces)who have hair brushed back that actually doesn't expose the hairline it kind of comes out the scalp at an angle if you know what I mean lol. A bit quiffy.
  16. I actually prefer the look of hairstyles that don't have an exposed hairline, well its a mixture really as there only so may styles you can have either way. I wouldn't take what a certain magazine says is or isn't 'cool' as another magazine would probably say the opposite or the next year styles have changed and the list is totally different. But if you do completely expose the hairline then yes you'd have to know what your doing and be confident about it.
  17. A ht + system could work be a little tricky matching density with the hairline. Some people like those posting on this thread had anxiety about wearing yet others have the opposite effect the anxiety dissipates when they wore because it stopped them feeling insecure about their hair loss, everyone's different. I wore a really small piece and have gone through times of not wearing, i can achieve a similar look with my existing hair, and if anything i felt much more conscious when i wasn't wearing even though i pretty much looked the same. The piece did make me feel more secure and i actually thought less about my hair with it than without it.
  18. Not sure I understand the logic here. Surely if you shave your head then get scalp micro pigmentation people will know you had hair loss? So why does it matter? But i might be missing something here.
  19. Yeah like everything in life wearing suits some people doesn't suit others, that's a given. People do keep mentioning hairlines but how many people get really close when they talk to you? How many stare at someone's hair when they speak to them? Plus plenty of people wear and don't expose their hair line at all solves that issue.
  20. Bottom line is both HT's and Hair pieces have advantages and disadvantages, we all could list them. I certainly wouldn't do hair clubs as they all seem to be very expensive and most people go down the custom route and save themselves lots of money. It really is something that you have to answer yourself you really shouldn't be asking people whether you should wear or have a HT you should be the one to decide as lots of people will say wear and lots of people will say HT. But the most important thing is to research.
