  1. I've been trying to look at the differences between Shapiro, Freitas, Cuoto, Feriduni, Ferreira, and Pinto. So far I am not able to figure it out. If you showed me one of their patients, no way I would be able to point who it was done at.
  2. That's a bummer. If you can post a draw of what you wanted, vs what you remember he drew, maybe people can point out where it may differ from established hairline principles like rule of 3rd, or the finger up from highest forehead crease, etc. Or perhaps we can point out that it may be his personal hairline principles.
  3. Wow, sorry to hear that. He is on my list of hairline doctors to consider.
  4. So he does placement but not extractions? That's interesting, usually it's the opposite. Can you post a picture of the hairline you wanted, and then the hairline he gave you? I'm curious to see what are the differences. He does 2 a day, but I believe both of them are over a 2 day period right?
  5. I've seen principles where they use landmarks to great the hairline design. Rule of 3rd, 1 finger away from top forehead crease. So it is pretty much the same now? Follow the principles? Or, is there variation on what top hair transplant doctors do?
  6. I specifically looked up complicated cases as I was one due to subpar techniques used in my first hair transplant. My research led me to Dr Shapiro. Out of all the elite surgeons, he's been doing it the most, he is the biggest pioneer of current practices out of all the currently practicing surgeons, and he's still loves to learn from others. Check out my post history for an early review
  7. Amazing that tours are taking place. May I suggest considering Northern California? I think it's the only hugely populated area without a top tier hair transplant surgeon. Edit Went down a bit on a rabbit hole, but I can't think of any largely populated area that is like this. LA, San Diego, Florida, NYC, Chicago, TX, Atlanta, SC, NC, Phoenix, Portland, Seattle, etc. Only Northern California is the only highly populated metro area without a strongly reputable hair transplant surgeon within a day's driving. And not just the Bay Area, but Sacramento, and Santa Cruz area too. Plus, the Bay Area skews heavily towards males, in the bachelorhood, with some of the most wealthy areas in the nation. I would put it top 3 for sure for number of people who can afford your treatments within a day's driving, along with LA and NYC just from the huge populations, but considering the Bay Area is an absolute desert of strongly reputable surgeons within a day's driving, I would easily put it as number 1. Just seems like a low hanging fruit. I know that Dr Mohebi has a clinic in SF, but he's not there I believe, it's someone he trained. Went on a bit of a rabbit hole but if I were an up and coming surgeon, norcal seems like a low hanging fruit.
  8. Not with Shapiro Medical Group, I have Dr Shapiro's main line and have one of the surgical professional's phone number that I can call or texts.
  9. I did a search but I haven't found any info on this. How soon can you start microneedling the recipient area?
  10. Sounds like a smart idea, probably the most populous area of hairs outside of scalp, beard, and chest. Though like chest, I think it grows out for a while, but then stops growing and stays dormant for years?
  11. Sorry, I missed it the first time, but the angles and graft selection was too poor. They were larger, blunt hairs, and the angles were weird, so they would have been hard to blend in. But having them blended in is also a legit approach. The people I consulted with were split 2:1 of relocate vs blend in. I went with relocating them. I'll be re-filling those areas in a future procedure.
  12. One thing I'm thinking of is if the FUE punchout an optimal site for a new graft. An incision doesn't remove skin, so the site is able to grab onto new grafts. A FUE punchout area is like a hole. Perhaps @Melvin- Moderator can ask in future podcasts.
  13. I get it now. The price makes sense since it's a combo of FUE + BHT. Does anyone else do this? I looked on Bisanga's website but it only says regular BHT/Donor restocking stuff.
  14. My personal experience with Xyon topical fin is that combining this with topical min results in side effects, my guess is that the carrier in the topical min foam also carries the fin. I am on oral min now so I will be trying again. I'll update on how this goes, but I'll be starting with 1 pump per week.
  15. Let us know how you respond Melvin. My personal experience is that combining this with topical min results in side effects, my guess is that the carrier in the topical min foam also carries the fin. I am on oral min now so I will be trying again.
  16. Great write up. I had a similar experience, I asked for a conservative hairline, but then the hairline he drew was even more conservative then that by a little, I was looking at my old facebook photos to see if it matches the one I had in mind but he said we can build it up later which I liked because I rather it be too little and build it up later, than too much. My first hairtransplant ended up being lower than the agreed upon hairline, which is not only bad because of the repair work involved and losing due to the transection rate of both implanting and relocating, but the first transplant was very low yield, it may have been like 300-400 out of the 1300 grafts, if I my surgeon had been more conservative, then less grafts would have been lost due to low yield.
  17. FIT FARMING - Fue Clinic From the definition you gave and on the website, it still sound like the same thing. Moving body donor to the head donor to restore the look and so more grafts from the head can be used in the future? Is is that not quite right?
  18. @champybaby So there was only 4 months in between a FUT and then placing beard grafts into that same FUT scar along with the old one?
  19. Yes, that's the same doctor. I too was drawn to him by his extensive youtube channel. I have since learned to rely on the independent patient reviews, instead of their self published portfolio. If you search this doctors name on here, you'll find many had similar patients issues with their results to me. From what I gathered in my other consultations with both top hair transplant doctors or their trusted patient advocates, is that not the best technique was used in my procedure. One of which criticized his work on my transplant live on hair (I submitted my photos for the consultation) Somehow the hairline ended up lower than what we agreed upon during our consultation. The placement, angles, and resulting hairline design are the doctor's technique and I don't believe depend on my biology,. I also seemed to have a low yield, which some other patients of Dr Diep also experienced, it can not be ruled out that it might be my particular biology, which is one of the many reasons I picked Dr Shapiro, who I rated number 1 in the world for complicated cases. Other people who have had procedures with Diep have written more extensively on his techniques, so I recommend doing a search for his name on here. There are certainly cases where his work turns out very well. I would like to know what is causing these differences. If you are in South East Asia, I believe that there are doctors from Thailand on the recommended list. Have you checked them out yet?
  20. When I was doing my deep dive into hair transplant doctors, I also noticed that Dr Mwamba and Dr Bisanga seem to have the most experience with afro hair. I was particularly impressed with Dr Bisanga, I put him in top 3 in the world. His best friend is Dr Mwamba, I think he's a little Jr to him. As someone who had a procedure with Dr Diep and had to have a detailed repair for that procedure, where they actually had to remove much of the transplanted hairs and relocate them, I can not personally recommend him. Details about my repair:
  21. I see that phrase a lot. Is the phrase all there is to it, or is there something that they mean specifically, maybe using certain facial landmarks for something optimal
  22. Assuming you're doing different areas, [vertex, mid scalp, front, etc] , what's the ideal wait time between procedures?
