15 Week Postop Update: Just had a video call with Dr. Bicer as I had a question for her assistant if the transplanted hair would eventually feel like my native hair. She reached out to answer the question and check up on me. I also asked her opinion if she thinks I would need to do my temples in the future if they continue to recede. I've included 2 more pictures of my side profiles to see what you guys think!
Dr. Bicer assured me that I hadn't even seen the results of the growth of the new hair yet, that the majority of the growth right now is just the result of my previous HT. The new hair will come in the next 3 months at the proper angles which should help disguise the look from my previous HT where the hair was implanted at improper angles.
It's been 9 weeks of using Oral Minoxidil daily, 3 more weeks before it should start having a real effect.
Continuing with Fin 1mg daily. Derma roller 0.5mm twice a week. Oral minoxidil 1.25MG.

I’m sorry, have you been in contact with Dr. Mwamba?
No I haven’t waiting until the 12 month mark either way I don’t have the money for a touch up right now

I am sorry to see this poor result. I always considered this a layup case since you are only a nw2 and this is before your surgeon's density problems became known. A NW2 straightforward implantation should not be this lackluster...
Even considering this is only your 1st HT, i would have expected significantly better density in the temples, especially considering this doctors reputation.
Especially the right side temple, it is hard justifying that result
You seem satisfied using fiber, so if you truly want to leave HT world for the time being then fiber seems like a great solution.
I can’t afford another one right now 😂 just bought a house so fibers will have to do for a few years

Sad to see this I’ve been very busy lately with life so haven’t been on the forum in a couple months but I’m sad to say my result has not been what I expected either I gave up in the progress photos after getting no replies on them my density is just not what I was told it was gonna be and if from what I’m reading is correct there will not be any free or highly discounted touch up in a few years I’ll probably finish up the journey with couto or Cooley

9 month update
Hey guys here’s my 9 month update nothing much to report when I rub my scalp I still feel the stubble hairs that are stunted hoping for them to grow hair looks good with fibers not so much without will need another surgery to finish things off unfortunately most cases aren’t one and dones but I can create the illusion of full hair with fibers so I’ll see what the doctor says at 12 months but I do not plan on any other transplant any time soon

Yea they are definitely getting better I’ll probably do some research of good smp artists in California just wanted to see if anyone has done it in the donor and the gotten 0 guard fades it’s only about 200-300 dots that are visible

Simple shock loss in my opinion extractions look nice and spread out I also had a bit of shock loss in my donor is came back in a few months

So do you think the shaven donir and unshaven recipient fue option might be operated for me as well?
Yes it would work you I did it and have no regrets
-
Unshaven only works with it’s ok the hairline I did it and no one ever has found out I got a transplant just take like a week off as you probably need around 2000-2500 grafts for your crown but need to take fin
-
Let’s all pump the brakes here I still have 5 months to go and although I do think results aren’t what I expected at this point I have to be patient and know there’s sometimes cases that grow way later then anticipated i remember it being long days but don’t know much about how long grafts can be in the solution and survival etc I like the hairline design I like the fact that my donor still look’s pristine so if my result grows in more I will be satisfied if it doesn’t on the other hand I will talk with the doctor about this and hope for a solution

I had the same stalled hairs also with Mwamba. Unsure what the significance is.

7 month update
Hey guys heres my update starting to look decent still for some reason feel a bunch of stubble hairs that are “stuck” they don’t seem to grow I still use fibers day to day but these pictures are fresh out of the shower no fibers as you can see under bright light and under normal light I think it looks pretty decent I hope I get more growth though as it looks rather thin without fibers but I love the hairline design a lot and if any further work is needed it y would just be to fill in the gaps donor is completely undetectable after 4-5 days after zero guard fade would probably want to get the donor addressed some day maybe verteporfin becomes a thing 🤞 we use for that but donor healed perfect and no signs of surgery unless you have a keen eye

They are in Belgium flight isn’t bad I went for mine about 9 hrs
-
I’m in the same boat rn although I still feel stubble in my hairline I’m a month ahead nov 2022 poking through and hair looks satisfactory with fibers on it there’s still a lot of time left about 5-6 months of growth still possible

I get why you mean by the density def needs a few hundred grafts more
-
All those things after 2 weeks micro needling I would wait longer
-
Wow that’s a ton of grafts long journey
-
I did it and would do it again just get a high fade before doing it so it doesn’t look too weird after a week it just looks like a bad fade if the extractions are clean and left the top which effectively hid the transplant
Is hair transplant an option for me? Using a hair system at the moment...

I think the meds will thicken the middle I think you should wait until the meds do their magic because you risk permanent shock loss if you do a transplant now plus that allows you to wait for doctors who have long waiting list since your gonna be on meds anyways no need to rush in
