  1. I'm prepared to get more in the future be it 8 years or 18 years down the line but I'd rather not need another one in 6-12 months.
  2. And yet I still don't know if the result will be shit or if I'll need another transplant within a year 😂
  3. Aww. The suspense is killing me, not even knowing what my odds are is nerve-wracking lol.
  4. Cool! I've gone with Dr Saif. He's meant to be pretty good. Its such a bummer having no certainty as to how its going to work out lol. A second session would be so annoying. Do you know what are the odds of needing a second procudure in 6 - 12 months, based on my pictures? Like, 50-50 or something like that.
  5. Cool. Yeah, I'm aware of all this. I believe if the grafts are angled properly it can favour a good result. I just want to get it boxed off in one session instead of going back for another transplant in 6 - 12 months lol.
  6. There's a bit of length in it now. Usually its a lot shorter. Now that I see it the donor hair might look a bit more wooly from this angle because its longer than usual. When its cut very tight it looks more blonde and of thinner texture I think.
  7. There's the left side of the hairline where it needs most hair. Can you get an idea of my density and hair quality by that picture? I can attach more pictures. I'll also send my donor hair now. I think donor hair is naturally a bit more dense.
  8. I see. My level of hairloss is deep recession in the hairline. I've been qouted about 1,800 grafts. The density in the parts that are not bald is not too bad but I think the texture of the hair is naturally thin. I have no idea how many 1's, 2's or 3's I have, and no idea how well I will receive them.
  9. Hi everybody, I'm due to have a transplant soon. I've noticed that some people are unhappy with the density they achieve in one session. I've noticed that some people get a touch up 1 year down the line or thereabouts. Getting an unsatisfactory result from 1 transplant would be a pain in the bum for me. Having to return for another transplant to finish the job in 1 year would be a bit annoying. I'd love to just get it boxed off and out of the way in one sitting. Will I likely need two transplants one year apart from each other to get the right result? - Ross.
  10. Cool. That's interesting. I'm hoping to have a hair transplant soon and I think they will examine my hair with a microscope when I go for the procedure. I wonder will they be able to predict how bald I might go on my crown, or mid scalp, if they examine it with a microscope. Perhaps they will be able to see where it is thinning most and where it is thinning the least, and maybe they will be able to predict how much mileage I will get from finasteride and Regaine?
  11. I see. That's interesting thanks. I'm 30 now and I started using finasteride 4 months ago. Maybe I should have started using it 10+ years ago 😭 Hopefully it will work well for me from hereon
  12. Saifi does seem good but I found at least 1 review here whereby a patient didn't get great density from Saifi and that's what I'd be worried about. Saifi, Anastasakis and HRBR told me that they should be able to provide me with all my needs in one session for now. A top up will likely be neccesary years down the line but for now I'm hoping that one transplant will be enough to surfeit the receding hairline. If you look at Bisanga's work, for example, he's often able to achieve a smashing result in one session. Saifi's work generally seems good, and I'm hoping that he can really delight me, but I have a small worry that I might be underwhelmed. Check out Anastasakis' work on Insta, Youtube, FB and on his website too. I reached out to Dr Peter Prendergast myself to ask him about his own personal experience receiving a hair transplant from Dr Anastasakis and he assured me that Dr Anastasakis is world class. I also asked for some photos of white skinned fair haired European patients via email but they don't share such photos because GDPR laws restricts them from doing so without the patient's permission. Honestly I'd be comfortable with Anastasakis, he's one of the only docs I'd be comfortable with, but I felt the same way about Saifi, its only now I'm starting to feel a niggling worry about Saifi because I found a review where a patient didn't get a smashing result, however, the patient was in his late 40's and I think some of his remaining hair was slightly thin anyway so maybe a less dense hairline was transplanted onto him purposely. Who knows.
  13. You think Saifi seems safe? I think he seems great too but there's still the tiny niggling doubt that it might not turn out to be amazing but I guess these kind of nerves are just natural. I spoke to an aesthethic doctor here in Dublin, Dr Peter Prendergast, and he assured me that Dr Anastasakis is absolutely brilliant. He received a transplant from Dr Anastasakis himself and he is delighted with the results, therefore I am comfortable in suggesting that Anastasakis is really good.
  14. I whittled it down to Dr Anastasakis and Dr Saifi, and in the end I chose Dr Saifi. I hope I am making the right choice.
  15. Ok. Most results do seem good and patients do seem happy. But having seen results that are not as mind-blowing there's always that niggling doubt. I'll try to remain optimistic. Thanks.
  16. I am hoping to have a hair transplant with Dr Saifi in a few weeks. I will probably go for FUE but I still haven't ruled out FUT. Like most people I want an awesome result with wonderful density. However, I saw a post on this forum where a patient of Dr Saifi's received an FUE transplant and didn't get great density. This worries me. I don't want to need a second transplant a few months down the line, and I don't want to be left with an unsatisfying result. Should I be worried or is there a good chance that I'll get an awesome result? Also I've noticed loads of people say one side of the hairline grows better than the other. What's the deal with this? I'm kind of shitting it lol.
  17. These are interesting and valid points. Again this subhect proves to be quite convoluted and messy. I'll stick with it for now but let's hope I'm not one of the 3.8% that experiences bad side effects.
  18. Cool. Glad to hear you weren't left with bad effects. I'll stay on with for now so. Cheers.
  19. Wow. Scary! I'm sorry to hear that you got bad side effects. Mind if I ask did you recover when you stopped taking it? I started using it 4 months ago. I take approximately 1.25mg per day. To be honest some of the stories I've been hearing have been scaring me. My status is that I am 30 years old and I have no bald spots on the crown, I have no bald spots on the mid scalp either but I think its a bit thin there. Most of my baldness is in the receding hairline. I have been on it 4 months now and I haven't grown breasts. I don't think I'm feeling depressed or weird from it, I've been a little bit less energetic and optimistic lately but I think that's mostly because of lockdown and being stuck at home although its hard to be sure. I also find I'm not hyper interested in sex but again I don't know if this is from finasteride and its not something that is actually bothering me as I have no partner anyway. I think I can still sustain a normal erection so fingers crossed everything is good in that department. I'm hoping to not get any bad side effects and I'm hoping to get awesome results from it.
  20. I briefly read over that link. Interesing, thanks for sharing! I'm actually not familiar with that website. What is it exactly? 1,100 lawsuits for finasteride seems frightening and shocking to me. It really does make finasteride seem dangerous and scary, and yet so many seemingly ethical doctors reccomend it quite casually. You'd wonder why its prescribed so easily. Out of curiosity what's your own attitude to finasteride? Do you use it yourself? Do you believe its highly dangerous etc etc?
  21. No worries. I prefer to hear honest perspectives even if it can cause worry or concern. There are probably some doctors that don't follow such protocol and its probably always better to be safe than sorry. I'll try to keep my scalp in perfect condition. Cheers.
  22. Great to have your expert input as always Dr Barghouti. Perhaps then HRBR reccomended tea tree shampoo for one week to help militate against sebum/dryness etc. I do bear the burden of some skin conditione and HRBR are aware of that. Maybe they believe tea tree shampoo encourages a more healthy scalp in patients like myself, who knows. I'm intrigued now when you say you test the scalp prior to surgery and you don't operate if anything suspicisous shows. There is a little worry in my mind that maybe my skin/scalp will flare up when I need to have surgery and consequently I'll be sent home with no transplant. That would be such a bummer. Mind if I ask what would discourage you from proceeding with a transplant?
  23. Well HRBR are probably the most expensive clinic in the world and they are the ones that reccomended tea tree shampoo. Dr Saifi is affordable on the grand scale of things but he is by no means as cheap as a hair mill or a budget friendly Turkish transplant. Regardless of whether I shampoo a day in advance or not though I will make sure I smell good lol.
  24. Haha. HRBR reccomended tea tree shampoo and I didn't mind spending €1.77 because for such a pittance you wouldn't buy much else anyway. Dr Saifi reccomends you do not wash your hair the day before surgery and apparently he is a very good doctor.
