  1. Glad to see you're happy! I must ask though are you on finasteride and Regaine? You would want to be if you want to get good mileage out of your hair seen as you are only 26. Dr Bicer seems awesome. I had a nice time chatting to her and her coordinator via Whatsapp. They seem lovely. She was the only surgeon in Turkey that I considered for my own hair transplant. However, what threw me off was that she estimated I'd need more than 3,000 grafts and that I would also need another HT next year. I assume she was going to take 3,500 - 4,000 grafts throughout two procedures ovet the space of 12 months. I didn't like the sound of this because no other professional told me I would need so many grafts, and no other professional told me I would need two surgeries. I just wondered why was Dr Bicer the only person that gave me those figures. With the figures she gave me, I personally felt as if she uses too many grafts, and this is why I chose another surgeon. I think 3,400 is a big job, so hopefully your results last a very long time. Anyway, the hairline looks good so fingers crossed you'll be impressed in 9 months time. Best of luck with it and best wishes bro!
  2. It is, its exciting, scary, nerve-wracking. Now that I think ot it, those who don't know what its like to experience hair loss and a hair transplant don't know how much of a rollercoaster it is. This part of the journey - choosing a surgeon and having the operation - is the most nerve-wracking part of the whole journey.
  3. Thanks very much for your professional input. At this stage I feel like I should be paying you. This information now inspires me to swing more towards Dr Saifi as most of his work seems to be well done. Thanks again Dr T Barghouti.
  4. Thank you so much for this kind response. I will check out this video. I actually went to a cheap clinic in Poland for a hair transplant 3 years ago but they didn't operate on me because I had a rare and unfortuneate outbreak of psoriasis on my scalp at the time. I'm looking to get a transplant this winter because I have so many gaps in my timetable that its convenient and easy to fit it in, whereas if I start a new job in the new year, and if coronavirus disappears, it will be harder to plot 1-2 weeks off for a HT, so the next couple of months are really convenient for me. Its true of budget I could save more and go for Bisanga or someone similar at a later stage but I'm feeling comfortable enough to opt for Saifi or Anastasakis this Xmas, provided they are not booked out. If they sell all their vacancies before I reserve my spot then it might well lead to me kicking it out another year or two and visiting Bisanga instead, but I'd really prefer to just get a good job done sooner tbh. My hair loss does seem slow. The most noticeable recession/thinning happened very fast in my late teens/early 20s and then it just seemed to slow down by itself. I think I receded again a bit more in the last 5 years or so but I never treated it with finasteride or Rogaine up until only recently (3 months ago). So please God the meds that I have started will stop any more hair loss and restore some extra density. Its interesting what you say about my unique features. I find my head is very flat and big and of a strange size. My jaw is kind of big too. Maybe this makes me a difficult case that needs more care and professionalism. Maybe for that reason I should go with Anastasakis instead of Saifi, unless Saifi also adapts his work to unique facial features?...
  5. Yeah, thanks. I still haven't booked Anastasakis or Saifi. I'm still trying to pick one 😂 Thanks a lot though.
  6. Cool. Of course that makes perfect sense and Sikos is not the only one that favours that approach. It was hard to find enough positive information to make me choose him though. Another thing I noticed is that he doesn't post results very often, most of his website results are old and he only seems to post a result once or twice every year. He should definitely invest more heavily in marketing, it would help him a lot because the market is now so competitive. Its good to hear an opinion from a real Hungarian. You're opinion is valid because you can find and understand more information about him. Maybe if I had of heard from more Hungarian guys I would have chosen Dr Sikos a long time ago.
  7. Hi, can anyone tell me how does Dr Saifi design his hairlines. His work looks amazing but I'm all too aware that one size does not fit all and that every patient is different. Some professionals will apply a conservative hairline if a patient is aggressively losing hair. Some professionals measure facial features and take into account the shape of a patient's head and face and so on. Some doctors seem to have a few variables when it comes go designing hairlines, others are not as finnicky. Just would like to know what criteria Saifi follows as I'm either going to choose him or Anasatsakis.
  8. I'm not basing my decision entirely on cost though. Cost is encouraging me to shop around but I'm going for quality above all else. I'm trying to get the best of both worlds from cost and quality. HRBR in Dublin are probably one of the most expensive clinics in the world and the hairline they offered me is nowhere near as good as the hairlines I've seen in some other cheaper clinics. If I was totally loaded I'd have gone straight to HRBR without looking overseas, and consequently I'd probably now be wearing a transplant that is less than 100%. Cost and quality is what I'm trying to blend, and yes Bisanga has a guarentee on his service but having spent time exploring options a little further afield I've found other trustworthy professionals at a more affordable cost.
  9. Yeah, its pretty much price that has spurred me on to look a bit further afield. I'd have probably picked Bisanga or Feriduni if I was rockin' way more cash at the minute. Anastasakis is the treasurer of the America Hair Restoration board. He's won a few awards in Greece recently. He's also published a 903 page scientific study on hair treatment, soon it will be dispersed throughout the world to most hair restoration professionals. He has been leading a lot of presentations and world talks on hair transplant surgery. He's been shooting through the shadows via Instagram lately. I spoke to a dermatologist on Linkedin - Peter Prendergast. P. Prendergast had a HT from Anastasakis last year and he said he was brilliant, and P. Prendergast is an aesthethic medical professional himself so that's a good sign. I just get a really good feeling from Anasatsakis. He seems to take pride in his work and good care of his patients. I've investigated HDC too and they look really good but I did discover a bad review here relating to HDC and I prefer the vibe I get from Saifi and Anastasakis. Sikos was one of the first guys I tried to investigate but he has a handful of bad Google reviews and his results online don't look as good as results I've seen elsewhere. Also, nobody on any of these forums knew anything about Sikos. Its hard to find patients who have had a transplant from him.
  10. There's the top and sides. I'm looking to have the hairline done, with most emphasis on the temporal points if possible.
  11. Wow. I see. Interesting. God it really is such a hard decision to pick one surgeon 😂
  12. Ok cool guys. Cheers. I think all the places I've asked are top quality. I'll probably go with Anastasakis or Saifi. They've estimated 1,800 and 2,000 respectively. Maybe I'll just message them and ask them what if their estimates are wrong...
  13. I met with one clinic in person. It was HRBR Dublin, I've been going there sporadically for years to track my hairloss. They designed a hairline but it doesn't include temporal work - which I thought was astounding. They don't do temporal work there because they say it looks unnatural as you age. For their non-temporal hairline they estimated 1,200 - 1,500 grafts via FUE. Based on pictures: Bisanga said 2,300 - 2,500 Feriduni said 2,200 - 2,800 Saifi said 1,800 Anastasakis said 2,000. I'm kind of just eager to know how accurate their estimates are in case I end up having to spend more (or less) than expected due to extra grafts being needed on the day of surgery. Like, if I expect to spend €5,000 for 2,000 grafts it would be a bit of a bummer if they told me "you actually owe us €7,500" because we put 3,000 grafts in," on the day of surgery.
  14. Apparently Dr Anastasakis measures several facial features, including your jawline, when he is designing his patient's hairline. I'm not sure if Dr Saifi does this, or if it is common practice. Can anyone tell me is this common? Does it signify aesthethic skill if a surgeon takes such measures in designing a hairline?
  15. Yeah, that seems like the most professional sensible policy; pay for what you get and get what you need.
  16. Wow! You would think that maybe they would measure the bald spots and use the measurements to calculate precisely how many grafts they need. I see I see ok.
  17. Cool. It would be nice if they don't charge for extra grafts. My top two choices have estimated 1,800 and 2,000 grafts respectively.
  18. That's a hairline model that does not include temple work. The clinic that offered me this hairline estimated 1,200 - 1,500 grafts. However, I want to do the temples which is obviously going to need a bit more. The reason I'm asking really is because I'm trying to ascertain if it might cost me more or less money than what has already been estimated.
  19. I see, cool. Unfortuneately that's the drawback with HTs. Most people will need at least 2 transplants in their lifetime. My hair loss seems to be relatively slow. In the 11 years that I've been losing it (I'm 30 now) my only fully bald spots are in the hairline. I never treated it up until 3 months ago. I started using finasteride and I started throwing Regaine in on top about 3 weeks ago. I'm willing to stay on these medications if they work well. There seems to be a bit of thinning in the mid-scalp but maybe I can add density to it during my HT and if that happens hopefully I won't need my second transplant for a long time. However I am fully prepared to get a second and even third transplant later on in life if neccesary.
  20. Okay, just wondering, do surgeons overestimate or underestimate the number of grafts that they will need based on pictures? Of my top two choices Doctor 1 has estimated 1,800 grafts and Doctor 2 has estimated 2,000 grafts. Are decent surgeons usually pretty accurate with their estimates based on pictures? Or do they sometimes undershoot, or overshoot, by a few hundred grafts?
  21. They both have a few dates because of Covid. Its very exciting. Its just so hard to pick one over the other ha!
  22. I completely understand where you're coming from, but Dr Anastasakis is doing great work in the field of hair restoration. He has just published a 903 page scientific book on hair. I also came upon a dermatologist - Dr Peter Prendergast - who had a transplant from Anastasakis, and he has good things to say about him. Dr Prendergast reccomends his own patients to see Dr Anastasakis. I'm just surprised that he doesn't have many reviews here because he seems like an awesome guy. He's also had 3 transplants himself, he details it in a blog on his website.
  23. This coming week I will book a hair transplant. I have whittled it down to either Dr Marwan Saifi in Poland or Dr Konstantinos Anastasakis in Greece. Both of these surgeons seem to be top quality, yet there are not many reviews here concerning Dr Anastasakis. Can anyone tell me about him? Thanks.
  24. Wow. Ok that's really cool and that's good to know. That means the hotel and taxi are practically free. Awesome. Thanks for letting me know.
