  1. Best of luck, I think it looks like a really tidy job!
  2. I think it looks good. I wouldnt force the scabs off, let them get to a stage where they are ready to just be rubbed off. You will know when they feel ready. Once you are washing the area correctly they will naturally get to that point very soon. Best of luck!
  3. Thanks Andy. I had 3200 grafts overall. The communication before was one of the main reasons I chose Dr.Bicer. Both herself and her assistant who posts on here were amazing. I cant compare though so only based on what I experienced. Initial contact was a few months I think, but that included me rearranging the trip. I had a few video consultations before committing and plenty of messages etc.
  4. Hi @Andy H, welcome to the forum and I agree, it's a great platform. I went with Dr.Bicer so can comment very positively for her based on my experience and results so far (4 months). Regarding the current climate with travel etc. I had to rearrange once and it was perfectly fine with Dr.Bicer. I paid a small deposit when booking and that allows for surgery at some point for 12 months ahead. I think every respectable clinic will need to offer plenty of flexibility at the moment. Let me know if you have any questions I'd be happy to help! And I hope you find a good solution that works best for you.
  5. Hi, here are some updates 4 months after the surgery. So far so good, I'm very happy with the progress. Just had my haircut today, as mentioned before I like a skin fade on the side so not sure if the donor area will show properly but I've had good growth in that area since the surgery so I'm not concerned. Happy Christmas!
  6. Hi, hopefully will get some more photos tomorrow!
  7. Hi @candleshades, I can only comment on Dr.Bicer as I had my HT with her 4 months ago. As @JohnAC71 only 1 patient per day was massive for me. So far I am super happy with the results. If it needs to be Turkey just take as much advice from people on here who have had HT and left real reviews and go from there. If you need any info directly from me let me know, happy to help! And best of luck with the search.
  8. Yes! Great results I'm very happy for you, it seems to have really made you happier. Will keep up with your progress!
  9. I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow so will get some more images up on the progress but the donor area for you looks very clean I think you will have great results.
  10. Hi everyone, I'm coming up to 4 months since surgery so thought I would update with a few progress pics. Personally I'm very happy with the progress and lots of people commenting lately which really does help with confidence. Still early days and plenty of time for things to develop but I can really start noticing the smaller hairs popping through and thickening. If anyone has any questions I'd be happy to answer.
  11. If you are strategically positioning hair it will only become harder and harder to keep getting it to a place you feel ok at, that's what I felt anyway. My advice to you would be if you are in the fence, then go get a HT if you are in a position to financially etc. It's the little things now that make such a difference for me like not fiddling with my hair to cover up or when its windy trying to keep it in an ok position. You never know, the shaved head might really suit you, then you wont need to go through anything!
  12. My opinion on the spraying would be less is more. Only because I would want the healing process to kick in. I would maybe send some images to the clinic to get their advice. It will all be worth it in the end!
  13. I did during lockdown as I was on the fence about whether to get a HT or not. As soon as I shaved it I knew I wanted at HT. It grew back absolutely fine over the next few months, just before I got the HT. If you are debating a HT, shaving it will probably just push you along to make a quicker decision. Took a few weeks to get used to a shaved head, and it has its benefits! But I'm almost 4 months post HT now and absolutely delighted with it. I dont think I would have gone ahead with it if I hadnt have shaved my head. Good luck with whatever choice you make!
  14. Don't overthink it, keep things simple and follow the clinics advice. I didn't spray at all. When using shampoo, I was advised after some follow ups to be a little more aggressive with the scabs (about 4 or 5 days after surgery). You will know yourself when the hair is stable trust me, it's a different feeling. When the hair starts to fall out that is when the real mental challenge starts! I dont think you will have damaged the follicles bumping it. Scratches would be more damaging so I'm sure you will be fine!
  15. Looks good Thomas, will keep up with the progress. I'm almost 4 months gone since a transplant with Dr.Bicer and I'm so happy with the results so far. Hair is really thickening and people are commenting a lot which is a really nice feeling. Stick through the first few months and don't get discouraged if the original hair grows and you are not noticing much, it will come!
  16. Hi Rossybop, my honest opinion is that isn't a big enough change. You can find a nice balance in between conservative and aggressive but ultimately you need to be happy. You say yourself in the post you were hoping they would propose a wider hairline, there is your answer. Some of the options jimcraig152 has put forward are much better in my opinion.
  17. Sorry guys let me put some clearer pics up, I used selfie images originally so poorer quality. These are clearer. Yes, I always kept my hair short, I think it looked tidier with my horrendous hairline! Maybe if I get decent growth in the recipient area I will keep it longer all over.
  18. Looks great Jake! I had a similar transplant to you in the middle of August (around 3200 grafts) and also went to Dr. Bicer and can agree with everything you said in your review, fantastic team who made me feel very comfortable in a difficult time. I'll keep up to date with your progress!
  19. Hi guys, I'm 2 & 1/2 months after surgery and wanted to put a few progress pics up. I had my hair cut over the last few days so it should give a good indication of the donor area which I think has settled very well. I'm very happy with the progress so far and the pics probably wont show the small hairs popping though which is a nice sight and anyone who has gone through the process will know! Its starting to fill out a little more each week. I think the last month or so was the toughest for me, as the implanted hair had fallen out and your other hair continues to grow, for me, it highlighted the implanted area even more so and impatience set in. Will continue to post some updates and happy to help anyone looking for advice.
  20. Hi, here are some pics of my donor area now. Pretty much two months after the surgery. I haven't had my hair cut since, I will be getting it cut in around a week or so, it will probably give a better idea but hopefully this gives you an idea, especially if you intend on keeping your hair long.
  21. Hi Rossybop, my experience differed quite a bit also. Ranged from 2000 to 3500 in the discussions I had. I think via pictures or video calls make it tough compared to in person. Ended up being around 3200. My first consultation estimated about 2500 so when I was told upwards of 3500 I was nearly disappointed. Ultimately, when your new hairline is drawn you see the coverage is much greater then you might see in your eyes or images. Speaking in person to the guys on Blackrock will help. From looking and only comparing to my own hairline I reckon 2500 - 3000 seems reasonable. I would ask the clinics direct and specifically why they say the number of grafts they are saying in comparison to other clinics you are speaking to. Let them explain their thoughts.
  22. Thanks jimcraig, I have plenty of photos so I will post some with some better timelines in the next few days. I guess for me regarding the donor area it has never been as important, I usually keep my back and side very tight so have never been as bothered if the donor area showed signs. Thanks for the heads up on GIMP, will take a look.
  23. Yes, my donor area is good I believe. I will post some pics tomorrow, I haven't cut it since the surgery so it should show a good indication. Will post some more pictures of the transplant area also.
  24. Hi, yes i'm very happy so far, but too early to see any results just yet. My opinion would be to go with who you feel most comfortable with. I spoke to a few clinics after a lot of research and Dr. Bicer felt right. that's not to say you will feel the same but I think its very important to have that connection. It's a big deal and if you're not in the right frame of mind, not feeling comfortable etc. I think it would have a big impact. Dr.Bicer and the coordinator were really good with me in the lead up, during and after the procedure so I cannot fault them. I have lots of info about travel, transfers, hotels, aftercare, preparation etc. So if you need to ask anything specific just let me know.
  25. Hi Rossybop, I posted a review a week or so ago for Dr.Bicer. I had surgery in mid August. Happy to help if you have any questions.
