  1. I’ve just been through the exact same thing from upping my dosage to 1mg daily. It’s a good sign that you’re likely to further benefit from the increased dose - just wait it out a few months and im sure you’ll be back stronger than baseline. MPB related Balding doesn’t just happen like that either, to put your mind at rest.
  2. It’s because it is easier to ascertain the density when grown out, which in turn helps formulate the extraction pattern. Exactly the same as scalp donor, clinics always ask patients to refrain shaving down their hair before day of surgery.
  3. Picture quality is awful, but comparing your 2023 picture to your 2016 picture - it looks like your hair quality has strengthened. Why are you stacking finasteride on top of dutasteride? I would suggest a more logical direction to look into (research and consult with a professional) would be to up your daily OM to 5mg, drop finasteride, and potentially think about a topically applied anti androgen (which won’t get medical approval obviously). 0.5mg daily dutasteride is more than enough. I don’t know what your aim is by increasing your already very comprehensive regime - I think in any scenario, it would be unlikely that you experience any regrowth of your recessed hairline given the length of time it has been bald, and the length of time you have been on medication. I think you look to be a good hair transplant candidate - a successful hairline restoration and continuation of your maintenance regime will stand you in good ground for years to come.
  4. I would be very surprised if 75% of transplants carried out in 2023 are FUT.
  5. I would personally wait until afterwards incase you induce a shed and it changes the landscape of what the Dr believes he has to work with. However - I would reach out to the clinic and go off the Dr’s advice, not mine or anyones else’s on here.
  6. Growth has been seemingly pretty good, but they have messed up the front somewhat. I agree, it is their likely attempt to create a refined and softer look that has unfortunately caused the weird appearance, it’s almost like they have tried to soften it by transplanting multi’s in a less dense structure, as opposed to picking out fine haired singles and maintaining the higher density required. Maybe he will reach out to you Melvin and source a repair surgery through you, you’re both in LA right ? Surprised at his reluctance on fin - the rest of his hair seems pretty solid at the moment, so should there be any deterioraron, I’m sure that his mindset will swiftly change.
  7. If you can push Nadimi gently into a more aggressive direction, she will most likely tick your boxes in terms of getting it done this year, and leaving your donor immaculate. I believe Hasson has generally been considered the hairline man out of the two, and Wong the crown. My personal opinion on this clinic right now however would be to hold off and seek further clarity as to what’s going on there. Going off the most recent case I have seen from Hasson, it really does not fall into the category of ‘every surgeon has one or two bad cases, cut them some slack’, rather there be a multitude of red flags that should simply never occur in a reputable clinic.
  8. With a budget of $20-30k you could fly business to Europe, enjoy a few weeks Interrailing between different countries, choose one of the elites in Portugal, Spain or Belgium, stay in 5* accomodation for the full week of surgery, fly back, and still have enough left over to buy yourself some new hair paste for 6-9 months down the line. Portugal - Dr BF, Dr Pinto Spain - Dr Couto, Dr De Freitas, Belgium - Dr Feriduni, Dr Bisanga, I quite like the work of the Dutch surgeon who’s been posting on here recently from FUEGENIX, but it’s too early for me to label him as a valid option until we have a decent collective of patient posted results as well as his own. Anyway, food for thought if you fancy getting a few stamps in your passport. If you choose to stay state side, I’d consult with Nadimi and see what density she would be willing to pack with, or consider Shapiro as an option also. Dr Rahal in Canada could also be a good option - he gave @TorontoMan a stellar result, and you hair calibre seems to be somewhat similar to his. All the best!
  9. Your plan is sound , I think after a year of meds you will be satisfied with some visible improvement for sure. If you’re committing to minoxidil for the long haul, it’s worth reading up about 5mg oral daily, as it may offer you a preferable alternative to sticking on rogaine every day. Other than that, dutasteride is as good as it gets for what we have available at the moment, and it will almost certainly maintain what you have - and no doubt strengthen the hairs you still have remaining, and additionally your donor area. I would predict that your regime will strengthen your front and mid section to the point at which you could get away with not touching this section at all (given you are content with the receded temple points) and solely focus on your crown, which in this situation - I too, would recommend as being the optimal strategy to achieve aesthetic improvement. All the best,
  10. If you are trying to recreate such a juvenile look, then it needs to be performed with higher than normal transplanted density, because like has already been mentioned - this sort of aggressive and juvenile design has to go hand in hand with aggressive and juvenile esque density, otherwise it just won’t look natural - which straight off the bat rules out the majority of hair loss candidates as they simply don’t have the donor reserves for this. I can’t remember his username , but the guy who went to Brazil last year and had an aggressive hairline and temple point design has probably got the closest results that I have seen online that you seemingly aspire to get towards. Hopefully someone could tag him for you. Great result, and very high density was achieved from a single pass.
  11. If you’re able to get to Madrid, you could just walk into the clinic and speak with the staff directly. If not - I would look on the Spanish forums and look out for users who have recently had contact with the clinic, be it for a surgery or consultation, and ask them if they have direct contact details they could provide you with.
  12. It’s hard to comment without pictures, but both are usually required to compliment perfect facial framing. For example, if hairline has recessed yet temple points have remained prominent , a simple hairline lowering and straightening should leave a pretty nice result - however this wouldn’t suffice if both hairline and temple points had recessed, only focusing on the hairline would still leave a wider impression of the forehead as the temple to hairline closure angles would remain looking more open. If you receive any recent examples of temple point restoration from any of the above three doctors, would be great if you could share them on here?
  13. This a great transformation so far for you mate, and I’m sure the best is still to come after your second procedure. I’m very impressed by your donor, it looks untouched at this length - i would imagine you have a good few K scalp grafts remaining here. Your wavy hair characteristics are also a massive bonus. Looking forward to seeing you further progress this year.
  14. A hair surgeon based in Manchester. The pharmacy is legit as far as I am aware. The brand name Loniten oral minoxidil is manufactured by Pfizer.
  15. Coming from the guy who claims to have stabilised his hair loss from PRP, ok Mike thanks for the maths lesson that I have been blissfully unaware of all this time 🙄 Off the top of my head - look up @Aftermath and @Rolandas 2x NW5 patients with fine hair - Did the maths not add up for them either? You need to forget this general rule of thumb rhetoric you continually drive down peoples throats, and encourage people to research and learn about hair restoration specifically towards their individual set of circumstances. Going around brandishing statements such as anyone that is NW5 or above to be destined for displeasing hair transplant results is both incorrect and unhelpful.
  16. There are a vast amount of patient reviews on here - just type his name in the search bar and look for the threads created by individual users.
  17. This is just stupid. You can have a NW5 with fine straight calibre hair and a donor density of 70 grafts cm2 vs. a NW5 with thick wavy calibre hair and a donor density of >90cm2, producing two completely different surgical restorations both in design and aesthetic. And that’s not even factoring in head shape and surface areas of the individuals recipients. Advancements in technique, and a higher success rate of the utilisation of BHT has led to NW6’s now undergoing temple point work with their donors still looking healthy, and further availability of scalp grafts. There is never a one size fits all answer for hair restoration, and the quicker people let that cement in, the faster they will be able to realise their own individual potential. Is medication essential for a hair transplant? Guess what - it depends on the individual. It depends on the individuals goals and what they deem as satisfactory in appearance. And it depends on the individuals propensity to experience further loss. Perfect candidates for hair restoration are educated patients, who understand the ratio between their goals and limitations (what is realistically achievable), have researched the science and industry for hours, are happy with their choice of surgeon, surgical strategy, and future preventative strategy, should they choose to follow one.
  18. Poor guy could get successfully scanned at a checkout. All I can think of is that the clinic have tried to implement micro irregularities using multi’s and following a pattern (which defeats the whole purpose of micro ‘irregularities’).
  19. Exactly this. RE the original post, I was under the assumption OP was specifically requesting a temple only work procedure going off the title - potentially not though I guess.
  20. Probably the same doctor then. Im not saying this is the norm, or is it his rate for larger cases. But I have interacted with two prospective patients in the last 6 months who’s surgery quotes have equated to $25 per graft. Edit: I have just read my original post on here and understand how my wording of ‘likely’ can be misleading. Better put - ‘could be up to $25 per graft’ I still maintain €4 a graft for a top level surgeon is a very good price point.
  21. I wouldn’t get caught up in the wording of the packages, there is quite a different mentality culturally when it comes to marketing in this region of the world compared to western markets - everything tends to be glossed with these sorts of adjectives. Just focus on the names of the dr’s and look at their results. For packages where it stipulates Dr’s will decide their level of involvement based on the case, I would suggest once both parties are happy with this, having it confirmed in writing before pursuing anything on the surgery table.
  22. You can get Brand name Loniten in the UK from the Oxford online pharmacy - that is your best bet. Just need a script from a Dr, think Farjo will write one for you if you contact his office. Hair looks good.
