  1. Hey @Homelander1998. In all honesty I would not even consider thinking about results, recovery, etc until at least 6 months post op. I'm currently deep into the ugly duck at 7 weeks post op and any mental energy I put into this is just wasted energy. Trust the process as Melvin says because from experience it's true. Patience as hard as it is, is key. All the best!

  2. When it comes to concealers, hair pieces and hair transplants, if you own it, you've won. I would be thinking about this in terms of what product makes me feel like I look best. Anything else is conjecture. I've been there with all these experiences and I am talking from my own lived experience. The benefit has also been that it has made other people, girlfriends feel at ease with their own insecurities and everyone has them. Real or imagined. All the best!

  3. @Approach in all honesty only you can answer that question. Dr Pittella has shown at least one case here or on instagram (or both) of a patient recently who used almost all of his beard for surgery. I would ask Dr Pittella to show you any other results like this that he has (if he has)l. If he doesn’t then follow this patient’s results. Are you willing to accept the permanent results if they are outside of your expectations? I’ve had over 8k beard grafts used in my results. I’ve also had over 7k scalp grafts to blend it. I went ahead with my surgery to hide previous scars from the age of 18. If I didn’t have the scars I wouldn’t have gone ahead with my surgery/ies. The scars affected me more as I got older more than hair loss. I would have just buzzed my head and saved a ton of money. Whichever way you decide I wish you all the best.

Well, 2 weeks after the 3rd HT and I have to say my donor area is still looking a little too immaculate for my liking. My biggest worry is that still not enough has been used from my donor area. I know that sounds crazy, but my donor has recovered very well after each procedure and it seems that I had far more strong and healthy grafts there than anyone could have initially imagined.

I think, though, that my next project in line will probably be a light SMP all over the recipient area. I have seen some good cases of this online recently where SMP was combined with HT results and the visual illusion of density looks very good and is completely undetectable from a distance. Getting the appearance of good thickness on top is very important to me with the types of haircuts I want to be able to sport, so I think a light SMP across the whole top will be a good tool to utilize.

The more hair in your donor now at your age the better for the long haul in years to come mate. I think SMP now would not be a bad idea to create more illusion. It won't involve surgery and will give you the appearance of more hair (although I think you will smash it once this last procedure kicks in). All the best @general-etwan.

The shedding does not happen to everyone however it’s the “initial” use that increases the risk of post-op shedding…based on your first post, you are well ahead with your growth since the surgery so IMHO, you do not need anything to facilitate your regrowth…your body is already doing an excellent job and all you need to do is watch it grow!…remember this, “If it’s not broke, don’t fix it!”

This ^ I think it's better to know what results you got from the hair transplant. Then you can add minoxidil as an outside variable. Finasteride though, I think if you (or anyone) can take it, should take it. To get a baseline of hair loss before surgery. All the best.

  6. Armen you have been a beacon of hope for many out there (including myself whenever any doubts arose in my mind) from a long time back. Also your results could not have benefited a more giving and beautiful person than yourself. Hair transplant of the century material. I look back at your pre op pics and think that this just can't be you. James Bond's not receding? 💯👌🏆

Hi guys.. I'm 4 months post-op now and my doc suggested at the time of the surgery minoxidil to help the growth further. I have never it used due to potential sexual side effects but I'm having 2nd thoughts about that decision. I'm now thinking about taking it.. 2 questions:

    1) I've got about 2 inches of hair growth so far. Will I experience any hair shedding? I dread that.

    2) Has anyone who has used it had any sexual side effects?

In response to question two. Minoxidil no. Finasteride yes.

  8. @Al - Moderator I’ve gone back to the gym and I’ve been on the carnivore diet for six weeks now. So far I’ve lost 8kg’s. Yes I think when you try and improve one area of your life it does cascade into other areas too. I was carry a bit of weight so it feels great working out, being more active now, etc. It also helps me keeping busy through this ugly duckling phase!  🤞 😉🙏

  9. I’m not an authority at all. But I would imagine that whey protein on its own doesn’t affect hair (DHT). When coupled with body building I think yes it might cause DHT levels to rise affecting genetic MPB. Maybe. The same with creatine. However this is a theory and I am yet to see any conclusive studies to prove this. The 2009 rugby study with a hand full of players over a few weeks has been debunked for a serious lack of good research design methodology.

  10. The area of the frontal scalp plus the mid scalp is 145cm squared in surface. Don't worry about getting hung up about having 30/40/50/60 cm per square cm etc. It's the art of illusion that matters most. I've found that the two month period is the lowest point of the ugly duckling phase (now more than ever. lol). Wishing you all the best @Hysteria and happy growing! 👍

  11. I also tried topical finasteride however like oral finasteride I developed side effects. I was taking 0.25% topical everyday. I'm thinking of trying it again at a lower dose. However I would still recommend finasteride for anyone losing hair (with/without surgery). I just know so many people who take the drug and never experience anything negative at all except for stopping their hair loss and even gaining a little. I'm lucky that 5mg of oral minoxidil works well for me with zero side effects.
