You could check out BKK after surgery but you will be limited from doing a lot of things that BKK has to offer. I agree with @HappyMan2021 that it would be better to do any touristy stuff before the procedure. All the best! 👍

I also tried topical finasteride however like oral finasteride I developed side effects. I was taking 0.25% topical everyday. I'm thinking of trying it again at a lower dose. However I would still recommend finasteride for anyone losing hair (with/without surgery). I just know so many people who take the drug and never experience anything negative at all except for stopping their hair loss and even gaining a little. I'm lucky that 5mg of oral minoxidil works well for me with zero side effects.

I think the 5ar enzyme will genetically follow what it has been coded to do with testosterone.

He had one, it looks bad. The guys who go to hair mills in their 20s to get a low hairline will end up like this.
In the last pic you can see what a punch graft hair transplant (like I had at 18) looks like. You can also see how it has thinned out over time in his senior years. Another reason why medication should always be your first port of call with MPB. I remember 'Jake' (Joe Penny) from 'Jake and the Fatman' TV series had a punch graft hair transplant. His since had it repaired.

I think that if you are considering a hair transplant then you should at least try finasteride. You want to retain as much native and transplanted hair as possible. Even as a Norwood 7 you would still want to protect you hair as the transplanted hair is not 100% DHT proof.

The angle of implantation changes with the surface of the scalp. The angle of the hairline for example changes as it gets to the temples. The angle of the temple points then change. The crown is at a different angle, etc. This is where art takes over from science in hair transplantation.

I can only go by the posted pics @rs525. Going by these two pics you look young to me and looking at the left pic 2,500 grafts may lower your hairline too much. How old are you if I can ask? I think your should try medication even just to ensure you have stabilized the minor hair loss in the temples before you do anything else..

Hi, I live in San Francisco area, and thinking of going to Tijuana, Mexico for my hair transplant, mainly because it's fcking so expensive where I live. I reached out to couple of places in TJ for the quotations, HMR and TJ Hair Clinic. They both offered USD 6900 for 3K grafts FUE. TJ offered some additional benefits like free hotel stay, airport pickup and free 1-time PRP session. What do you guys think? It seems very cheaper as compared to what I got in my area. Thanks for any suggestions.
That’s a big difference from you don’t need surgery to needing 3,000 grafts? Can you share some pics of your hair loss with your eyes blocked out? For a clinic to say no is something that you should pay attention to. Did any clinic speak to you about taking medication for your hair loss if you are not already? All the best.

No. DHT in genetically predisposed people causes hair loss.

@hairman4321 for only the fifth month your results in my eyes look excellent. You have many months ahead of you for further growth. 💯👌

Did you try Finasteride or any other medications prior to surgery?

If you go to an elite surgeon who knows what he/she is doing and you’re on medication to stabilize your MPB you should be fine. Genetics though also plays a key part.

I won't care about these imperfections.
This is what you see in nature all the time. It's when a hairline/temple points begin to look 'perfect' that it begins to catch the eye. Design looks good. 👌

This will sound hypocritical but I think it’s probably best to do this in two stages. The reason being that you are not using the majority of your donor in one hit on a large area in case something goes wrong. Also you can see how the first surgery pans out in terms of growth, weak spots and donor recovery. There’s nothing wrong with having surgery performed over consecutive days but waiting 12 months allows you and the doctor to see what you’re working with from the experience of the first surgery. All the best.

Just shy of 2 month update, gave myself a DIY shave to back and sides, still some shock loss in a few bits that I can notice from where I was, but seems to be growing well so far and keeping calm about the whole ugly duckling phase atm, my donor still has a thick horse shoe around the top and the back especially still feels thick and full, which is mad after so many grafts from so many sessions. Cant wait to see what impact this last session does to the density overall
@Stewie your hair length is mad for just shy of two months. I’m at the same place yet I can’t jump start this Viking look for love or money! Looking great mate. 👌👌💯

I think Yaman has shown some great work with the odd questionable result. But that’s true of any surgeon. I also like Gur and Pekineer (if you can find him).

Just wondering is it worth exchanging aud cash over in delhi?13k? will I save that much? Or is it just better off transferring it through bank to bank of eugenix?
Once they have given you the number of grafts then I would prepay nearly all of it. Open an account like Wise which has good exchange rates. Less stress for you once you’re there so you can focus on the surgery, etc. All the best.

I respect your decision to not want to try a 5ari. However as a Norwood 6 you want to stabilize your donor from further loss going into a transplant. If you do feel you’re getting side effects you can cease the medication. It’s only my opinion nothing more. Look at surgeons who do great work in Norwood 6 patients and understand donor management. All the best.

The texture and quality of a scar continues to improve, albeit somewhat subtly, for years.

@Diff-thinner their is nothing to worry about at all. At two weeks hairs will be falling out and this can last for two months. It's just part of the process. Think how you'll look in 12 months! 💯👌

Wow Addy! Only five months and your coverage and growth density has increased dramatically since month four alone! You have many months ahead of you which is incredible. Get ready to handle the coveted 2024 Best Hair Transplant of the Year! 🏆💯👌

As a very ‘rough’ rule of thumb it takes about 1,000 grafts per Norwood level. From Norwood 5 onwards I would increase that to 1,500 at least. For the number of grafts I think this is a good result. 👌

The area of the frontal scalp plus the mid scalp is 145cm squared in surface. Don't worry about getting hung up about having 30/40/50/60 cm per square cm etc. It's the art of illusion that matters most. I've found that the two month period is the lowest point of the ugly duckling phase (now more than ever. lol). Wishing you all the best @Hysteria and happy growing! 👍
