    So true ..my office Christmas party is tommorow night exactly 2 months post procedure …slap bang in the middle of ugly duckling….looking worse than baseline and a cap / hat not really doable …and not really “ fiberable” at one month from my 0.5mm buzz cut last time …it’s a grin and bear it kinda gig !! wish it was fancy dress so I could go as Evil Knievel and wear a motorcycle helmet 🥲

    I don’t believe HT outcomes come any better than this considering your start point…I think it’s fitting that the best result of 2022 happens to belong to our wonderful very underrated moderator . Thanks for everything Melvin and congratulations on a mind blowing result #halloffame22

    Yes buzz down from around month one always my preferred option ..it kinda buys you about 6 weeks of uniformity and breaks the back of the ugly duckling phase..in my case anyhow … i go arguably too close for many .0.5 mm all over including recipient ..why ? because one of the very best Docs in the world says it’s fine to do so ..

    @TomKkat..when you’ve the biggest baddest bullet at your disposal in your war against MPB ..why not at least try pulling the trigger ..without at least trying it , in my opinion it’s like fighting the war with one arm behind your back ..again ,Just my humble opinion.. Im sure if I did enough tests I’d find some sort of reason not to commence Fin …a confirmation bias of sorts .

    Let me give you some hope @TomKkatas I feel you are at a really similar starting point to me ..particularly the donor ..the pic attached is 7 and a half weeks post my last and most probably final procedure..my scalp has had 9218 grafts extracted ..if you’ve concerns about whether your donor is up to the job ,this pic should help put those concerns to rest …the main difference between us …..finasteride !!! ..

    I’m sure others will back me up on this .the beard v scalp anaesthesia process was virtually no difference pain wise ..still the same level of “ pinch “ when it’s being done . Not sure why all this “ beard pain “ issue is gaining traction to ge Honest . I’m on fin 1 mg every ,1.25 mg oral minox morning and evening and about to introduce 0.5 mg Dut one day a week to replace fin on that day .. im also taking the hair specific vitamins the clinic issue on completion of HT to help encourage growth .think lasts 6 months .

    Hi ..I think you’re very similar to my situation starting off in Dec 2019 ..if not even a little better ..you’ve similar “ tennis ball “ straight shooting hair like myself ..similar pattern and donor also 1 . At least try finasteride 2 . Give Eugenix a shout .. I’m living proof among thousands of others of what can be done for a guy in your shoes …I was in exactly the same pair as you . Good luck

    @Mick from Farjo would you not of counselled the guy to look at investing a little more grafts wise to help secure him a much better aesthetic result ? possibly removing the need for another surgery in the crown . This guy is gonna end up wanting to have another procedure and another recovery awaits …needn’t of been the case at all .

    Thanks Ryan …it certainly seems to have worked a treat for you ..why is it Im picking up from some threads that some clinics just don’t like doing SMP into donors ?? It seems to be the exception where you will find a decent clinic to do it ? Maybe things have moved on ..it doesn’t appear to be a straightforward procedure..

    Hi when you shave all that down that’s a crown,into mid scalp ,frontal third ,with laterals needing attention etc ..you need to re asses your expectations and budget because you won’t have much change out of 5 to 6K grafts or perhaps even a little more . .

    If my preference was to remain in the US I’d consult with Dr Konior and Dr Wong ( Vancouver )hyper elites for crown restoration

    @garcimore75..you’ve given yourself the very best chance of a successful outcome going to the clinic you did ,given your set of circumstances. Interesting to note you seem to have unnaturally good temple points already in place ..which will help add to the overall framing of your face . I can see some modelling gigs for you once all grown in ..if you’re not already one that is 😀 Keep us all updated and good luck !

    I’ve had 5300 beard grafts extracted over 3 procedures…scarring is as little as makes no difference to the naked eye ..so little in fact that I keep having to remind myself I’ve had BHT when I’m doing updates and uploading progress reports ..you simply forget about the BHT element of the procedure
