  1. I'm a NW 6/7 who indeed uses 1.25mg Proscar MWF... I'm using it primarily to ring fence my HT by helping to ensure my lateral humps don't drop and try avoid any further dipping of my lower crown as I had evidence of a "coronet" in my crown area.. A coronet is basically a mini horseshoe beneath a bridge of miniaturised hair above which your main horseshoe resides.. The Coronet was not transplanted into and our hope and aim was for the Miniaturised lower horseshoe to re ignite with the help of Finasteride.. To my delight I'm able to confirm its worked its magic whereby now its all bridging up together and thickening up great.

I remember someome asking Joe Tillman why he took Finasteride as a NW 6..

His answer was very simple and sums it up perfectly..

"because I dont want to end up  NW 7"

  2. Guys... Is taking finasteride after having beard hair as part of your HT a waste of time... A previous poster referred to this and has left me a little unsettled.

Apparently beard hair undergoes miniaturisation due to the effects of finasteride even if relocated to the scalp??

I'm on finasteride.. and had 1406 beard to scalp as part of my HT mix

    Any thoughts..?

This result has got to be one of the best on the forum ever. Few patients ever achieve that much density in the crown, especially after being completely skin bald. You look fantastic Zoom, thanks for always keeping us updated, and it will only get better.

Thank you Melvin..just thinking I’ve never uploaded a bathroom lighting pic ..

You’re right ..crown will always have see through in certain lighting ..pretty much regardless of how many transplanted grafts you chuck in there ...

a certain amount of acceptance is the key ...for higher Norwoods

Looking great @Zoomster - definitely some thickening since previous months, more noticeably on the hairline.

Donor looks very strong Aswell - hope you decide to go for a second pass at some point and Really Knock it out the Park 😉

Regardless, it looks great as it is, and in comparison to where you started, hard to believe!

Equally hard to believe how you were turned away only a few years ago for not being suitable, and now 7000 grafts later you have decent coverage on top, and a donor that looks as though it has hardly been touched!

Thanks man... Ré the second pass.. I'm Kinda looking at this as an 18 month gig.. Let's see how things lie then..

  5. Hi All

8 months today and it’s been the most stressful month of my life so can’t have helped things HT wise ..but life goes on ..

I’ve attached mix of indoor /outdoor pics for comparison.

To answer @NAVI HTs are all about expectations and starting points..my resulte so far might seem mediocre to your average NW 2 to 5 but i can tell you as a NW 6/7 there are days I feel like I’ve won the lottery re how things are turning out ..especially so as i was deemed unsuitable candidate in the past ..

My área of concern is mid scalp density /thickness so I’m hopeing I’ll have improvements right up to the 12 Month Mark ..also happy to report new “pops “in hairline and crown area last couple of days

two things about finasteride ..it definitely is helping my donor become more robust and recover well and has darkened my hair ...and also maybe someone one here can clarify does using Finasteride negate the benefits of using beard to scalp grafts ..ie Fin miniaturizes beard hair ??..I picked up on this somewhere on fórum ..I asked Eugenix to clarify no word back yet .

    Any feedback most welcome

  6. I think you've another 3 months of potential pop through growth and a further 2 to 6 months of full thickness and maturing to look forward to.

You're decision to restart finasteride was a very prudent one and perhaps equally as important as having the HT itself.

Didnt realise Dr Pekinar was so efficient in the use of BHT to be honest.

Thanks for the clear transparent pictures too..

Happy growing in the coming months

  7. Really with you on the use of DHT inhibitors being a non negotiable part of a successful long term HT....

you'd be well on the way to NW7 if you hadn't of embraced them when you did.

Just ask Wayne Rooney too.. Bet he wishes he could turn back the clock and start on them when he had his first HT in 2012.

Incoming fab result for you sir

Zoomster what can I say? This has to be the best 'one and done' for a Norwood 6 that I have ever seen. On top of that, you have incredible coverage and naturalness, which is what every patient (regardless of where they are with their hair loss) can only aspire to. You look a good decade or more younger and you still have months ahead of you to top it all off. Very happy for you and thanks for keeping all of us updated!

Thank you @Gatsby... And thank you for all your measured and level headed contributions on this forum...

Youve a lot to look forward to on your own journey..

  9. Haha... No... I think the generally perceived opinion on Fin is that it might help retain hair alright.. But you can kiss goodbye to a strong libido and say hello to erectile problems..

I and another prospective Irish Eugenix  patient I met for a coffee during the summer is having the same experience as me... No sexual sides and if anything it's added not taken away to the  libido side of things.. Its not zero risk though.. for some the sides are very real but I'd almost certainly say its not while on the low dose regime like I mentioned earlier

  10. Hiya DJ

I was refused by a UK clinic 7 years ago so I can relate to the feeling of rejection when deemed an unsuitable candidate.. Thankfully however.. They made a wrong call...

You're suitable... Contingent on you ring fencing the HT with finasteride.. Low dose 1.25 mg Mon wed fri almost guarantees no sides and most probably will add to your sex life not detract..

I was a slick bald NW 6 with high sides just like yourself and average at best donor.. With some retrograde alopecia present above the ears..

My clinic Eugenix just uploaded my 7 month progess update on youtube a few hours ago.. Go take a look and good luck with your journey
