Best Results of Grade 7 Baldness Patient, 7000 Grafts (Scalp + Beard), Dr Pradeep Sethi - Eugenix Hair Sciences Mr. Raman was very conscious about his hair loss and he used to keep his hairs on the side of his head longer and used to cover the balding area with it. He had curlier side of hair and the donor density was very good and he wanted to cover the total area in one go. With our rich experience of BHT, we took up the case and judiciously kept the hairline at the optimum point (not too hight neither too low) keeping in mind the ultimate coverage of his total bald area. Breakup of the grafts: Scalp: 4000 (Singles: 530, Rest were Multiples) Beard: 3000 Since he had curlier side of scalp hair, his beard hair blended well with the transplanted scalp hair. We provided the graded density from front to crown keeping in mind that the front is the aesthetic importance to the person. After 9 months most of his hair were grown and the crown was as expected, had a little lower density in comparison to the front. And his scalp donor is still adequate to be harvested again to do the crown. -

Punches are of 0.75 to 0.8 mm sizes. We have enough experiences of chest and other body parts. But they dont show up! We dont trust body hair other than beard. Beard grafts are ther best type of body hair. Rest are unreliable.

We do take from the sides and the cheeks whenever it is required. The lunch sizes are small and super sharp. In one patient we have taken from moustache, there we have done up to 16,500 grafts.

A) Why name Eugenix (derivative of Eugenics): Definition of Eugenics: "Eugenics is a movement that is aimed at improving the genetic composition of the human race. Historically, eugenicists advocated selective breeding to achieve these goals." So, for the above reason we kept this name which is relevant to our work, in which we believed that we will do something exemplary for others. B) Yes, taking beard grafts is very common to us. Without the use of beard grafts we can not think of covring large areas. Please find the pics of the before and after of the beard area to discern the scars on the face.

Thank you for your appreciation. Yes, we are on. He is getting the rest area covered in next one month. You are right that he should fill some areas which look lesser. But, some times the hair look clumped and they appear less where as they are not. In this case the front is very good in density as planted and planned.

A 45 years old hotelier with advanced grade of baldness approached us for a look change hair restoration along with his hotelier friend. Both of them had the expectations of complete coverage of the bald scalp. The index patient had a big size scalp to be covered. Our experience revealed that he needs close to 10,000 odd grafts for a complete job. We started with covering the front, mid and the anterior part of the crown area. Close to 7890 grafts were planted (from both scalp and beard) over 3 consecutive days. He was informed that the crown would be done later. We had to ensure that the scalp donor does not look over harvesrted and uncosmetic. Also we had to be sure about the final outcome of the beard area. Fortunately, being a hotelier he never wanted to have a beard! Moreover he wanted to cover the baldscalp with hair, which was a long standing wish. The hair started growing by 2-3 months and by 10 months he felt like a new man with hair and renewed confidence and grew moustache as a sign of royal confidence! He has become a very dear friend and wants to share his story with all. Answers: Are all doctors at eugenix certified dermatologists? Ans: We have 4 doctors at present who perform the procedures; Dr Arika Bansal, Dr Pradeep Sethi, Dr Priyadarshini Das is qualified MBBS doctor who now assists the procedures. are beard grafts all mainly 1-hair grafts? Ans: Yes, they all are mainly singles. But you can find few doubles at the angle of the mandible and the side locks. Some guys really have more doubles on multiple areas on the beard. does having a very thick beard always foreshadow advanced alopecia? Ans: The male hormone which is directly involved in the baldness is also directly involved in giving beard and moustache. If some one is having an advanced grade of baldness, he usually has a thick beard, as the male hormone is highly effective in both the areas. That means, if someone has got a very thick beard in his youth then there is a chance that his baldness would be of high grade and rapid in progression, if at all his genetic predisposition initiates his baldness. do the doctors at eugenix perform surgery at all of your several locations? Thank you for the appreciation. The Norwood scale is not very objective sometimes! It has some pitfalls as well. We are writing down one very objective way of evaluating a bald case, which will be also effective for evaluating the results of the transplantation. (Under the process of scientific publication.) In the index case, there was extreme baldness possible on the scalp. And the baldness was static for more than 25 years. Some people use the presence of hump as a marker to differentiate grade 6 from grade 7. I am more clinical than theoretical in approaching a case.

Usually, the beard grafts available in advanced baldness are more. To us, beard is from side locks to cheeks, chin and also in extended neck area. If the punch size chosen is small and enough experience is there in handling different skin types then a lot of grafts can be extracted. We being dermatologists have an advantage of knowing the behaviour of the skin better and handling accordingly. In most of the cases, baring very few cases, we don't go beyond beard to get more grafts for the coverage. We always target of giving an artistic, cosmetically acceptable density and coverage of the total bald area, in most of the patients, as much as possible.

A very senior dermatologist with grade 7 baldness of 54 years age was evaluated by us for hair restoration. His donor area was limited but the density was good. Also, as expected the beard was great as inversely related to the baldness. We completed the procedure over two sittings in a gap of one year. First sitting: Over three days Total grafts: 7630 (Scalp: 3760, Beard: 3900) After a very encouraging result of the first sitting, we thought to lower the hairline by 1 cm and increase the density of the crown and the parietal(hump) areas. Second sitting: Over one day Total grafts: 3500 (Scalp: 1500, Beard: 2000) Total of 11,130 grafts were planted which not only changed the look but also the fortune of the doctor and he shifted his practice from dermatology to Hair restoration!
