This patient started working as a Hair transplant technician with HDC in the beginning of 2016. His hairline was receding, and he wanted to make a hair transplant to restore it. Being a member of HDC Medical team he knew that the work performed is perfect.

So, in September 2019 he proceeded with the surgery.

We placed 2100 grafts and dense packed his hairline and temples.

He does not have a bad history of hair loss, but he may lose density of the hair behind the transplanted ones in a few years. In which case he will need to cover those areas too.

All patients visiting HDC Hair Clinic, can see his result in person.

    It is as presented below:

    Hey @Melvin-Moderator,

I was looking at the article you posted on your website:

    https://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/what-does-the-illusion-of-density-mean-for-hair-transplants-/3275

and was wondering what exactly this '"layering and feathering" would look like.

Would there happen to be any examples of layered/feathered hairstyles or unlayered/unfeathered ones just to illustrate your point?

I had my HT 2 years ago and wore a hair system the entire time it was growing in.

Just got rid of the system on Sunday and am sharing the photos of my pre-op, immediate post-op and current state.

My hair at this current moment is somewhere around a #3 or #4 cut, and I'm really hoping you could shed some light on what kind of hairstyles I should consider/avoid when it grows longer in the coming months.

    Regards,

    Sean

P.S. I actually used DermMatch to darken the temple points and mid-scalp in the photo showing the current state of my hair. I must say DermMatch really blows Toppik out of the water with it being waterproof and also the amount of control it gives you over which parts of your scalp you want to thicken up. Also, I accidentally shaved a part of my eyebrow if anyone was wondering.

What a change!!! Really really good... how is the donor area looking? Any ourdoor photos?

    Hi guys,

If you were to choose out of those 2 doctors which one would you think about going to? Dr Lorenzo or Dr Couto.
Sorry for asking! I'm really keen to get this done by the best. Thanks so much..

It´s a tough choice for sure. Bot are amazing doctors. What I see is that Lorenzo was the man back in the days and now Couto is the "new" Magician.
From what you see on their YouTube:

    - Lorenzo just posts every single one of his cases, he has more than 800 videos and 13.000 Subscribers and you will see a lot of everything, some are great and some so so...

    - Couto has by far the best cases, he has around 65 videos on YouTube with almost 45.000 Subscribers on his Channel... if he can get 800 videos and they are so great as the first 65, there would never be a discussion anymore that Dr Couto is the best hair transplant surgeon in the world...

But, it´s not an easy choice between 2 of the best in the world... let see what they tell you about their availability.

Hey guys I need ur help .. I’m attaching the same pics I sent to the clinic .. to me , this is no way 2500 grafts , 5000 hairs.. what’s u guys think? I’m thinking 1800 -2000 max grafts .. the middle section is missing a lot of hair to me .. top two pics are the section that was transplanted . N I never cut the transplanted hair .. just let it grew .. so those are all the hairs ..

it actually looks pretty good , natural .. but the volume is not there .. it’s hard for my hair to stay up .. i feel like I need about 400- 500 more grafts ..

    I give it a B overall ..

I can understand why someone would do it ... it’s a particular look that many prefer, and having a shaved head with a hairline is a lot different aesthetically than shaving your head when bald. I think this HT turned out great based upon what we can see here.

That said, appearance of the donor area after HT would be critical with this approach, so hopefully the clinic posts a few pics.

Totally agree, and his new look is great.

Also, cant wait to see how that donor looks

    Hi all -

Sorry for not including follow up pics in my original post, but here are some pics from the 4 month mark. I also have a personal folder of pics that include some key milestone dates (the first week, month 1, month 2, etc) and can add those if others are curious.

I feel a ton of stubble when i run my hand through my hairline / crown, and can see tiny little black hairs just beginning to sprout, but I definitely haven't had an insane early-grower response like some others have had. At this point, I feel like I'm back to baseline.

One thing that's tough in my case, is the fact that most of my transplanted hair is going into an area that already has hair. So, while the existing hair has laregely grown back, I find myself trying to look through existing hairs for small stubble and it's tough to see (versus in some HT's when an entirely new hairline is created or a fully bald spot is filled, it's very easy to notice progress no matter how minimal...).

I'm still quite hopeful that the forthcoming months can bring some drastic changes. Anyone who's been here before can likely relate to the daily checking of your hairline / crown and it's tough to really notice progress in 24 hour increments...

Pics are taken showing the front / crown under strong vs. normal light while wet / dry. Please note that the "strong light" pics are literally taken directly under a really bright light - in other words these pics are taken in light that is stronger than the pre-op pics i posted before but I feel it's helpful to show the extent of my loss.

Hi everyone, i'm sharing this because I'm feeling blue and I don't really trust my clinic any longer...it's a Clinic in Spain and I'll share the name after 18 months, whether the results will be good or bad. This is the situation.

When I underwent puberty, 20 years ago, my forehead assumed a very weird shape, due to some issues related with hormones and maxillar development. Needless to say, it created a lot of discomfort every time I was swimming, or even walking on a windy day. Last year then I found a clinic which was offering HT at a very good price. It was a case of forehead lowering, and the doctor said my case was an easy one. She said she would transplant 2000 follicles in my temples, but there's no knowing now. Anyway, I'm posting here the results after 7 months. No wonder I'm quite sad about it. She says that it's evolving well, but a bit slowly, and she suggested taking Minoxidil, which was never on the table and I'd rather not take, because I never suffered from alopecia, and I know it might have a rebound effect of I stopped taking it.

What I 've noticed is that the transplanted hair basically stopped growing in February or March, and I don't know if it's because I'm a slow grower (I'm 42) or this is more or less what it's going to be. What do you guys think? And what about the minoxidil?

    thanks

    Hey Masha,

Sorry to hear you are not happy with your situation but I think you have to give it a little bit more time.
Also, could you share better photos of the current state?
And, if things do not go as planned, did the clinic offer you a possible repair procedure?

Dr. Dorin performed an utra-refined FUT consisting of 2008 grafts - 644 singles, 1245 doubles, 119 threes.

Propecia initiated at the same time as his procedure. This is an auspicious start and atypical but we do see this from time to time. Usually this stage of development can be expected at around the 8 - 10 month mark.

My opinion remains the same - no good reason to do this. It exposes the patient to the possibility that an area of donor will look depleted as compared to non-harvested areas. The best way to ensure pristine donor in the future is to be (skillful, slow and precise while using small punches (not 1mm). If a FUE doctor is so concerned about preserving virgin areas for future use it suggests to me that he's achieving none of those in his extraction technique.

While were on the topic - from the photos I would also say that Diep has gone way to HIGH also in the area harvested............almost into the crown area and for sure has gone outside the consensus accepted safe zone for extraction.

+10000 I agree with you. It´s so so weird doing this... I had never seen this way and I have been following Forums for 10 years... I´m also thinking that the reason here is that it´s easier and quicker for the person doing the extractions. But what about the patient´s opinion on this? I think this approach should always be discussed with the patient.

If this patient wants to wear pretty short hair in the future I´m sure you will be able to see this issue...

Apart from this, all looks good up there and the receding hairline will be completely gone in a few months!

    Thanks for sharing : )

@Emmanuelb - If you see the thread, the hairline isn't natural at all.  Do you have links to more patient reviews for Dr. Couto, I'm considering him but for me hairline has to be natural and wondering if you have more links so I can decide.

Sandyr, here they have a new video with some nice hairline works by Dr Couto.

Agree, they have good donor.  I think we should also look at the number of grafts being implanted, Can other doctors get the same result with same number of grafts.  Just curious.

Few doctors in the world get results like Freitas and Couto with the same grafts... I dont know how they do it but where they use 1500-2000 grafts other Docs go for 2500-2800 for sure.

I´m also curious to know why is this? Anyone could explain this?

Thanks for the comments Steeeve, Mycroft and OliverAtom!

Mycroft: Day 1 was devoted to the hairline where 2537 grafts were employed. Day 2 consisted of all the crown work using 2162 grafts. This patient has above average donor area density and Dr. Hasson estimates another 7,000 grafts available via FUE.

OliverAtom: Here’s another shot of the crown.

The goal here is to greatly improve the appearance of the crown while also striking a good balance with the mid scalp/front. To responsibly manage the donor reserves we don’t want to commit too many grafts to the crown but just enough to create the desired cosmetic impact while still maintaining a fairly seamless transition into the mid-scalp.

Stayed tuned for some post-op shots of the donor area.

Nice niceeee!!! THanks for sharing H & W Doug

    Hello Reader

In continuation to my earlier posts, I would like to take few minutes to share my 'ONE Year Exciting ' hair transplant journey!

I got my Direct Hair Transplant (DHT) surgery done by one of the most experienced doctor, named Dr. Pradeep Sethi from Eugenix Hair Science, Mumbai on 9th March, 2019. It's been  a year now since my surgery was done and as a result I transformed from my old to New LooK! 🙂

You must have seen my earlier pictures on the website (before and after) and if you haven't, I strongly recommend to visit the website and see it. The pictures will tell you the complete story!

It's well said that person's hair is a portrayal of his or her personality. They create a persona for men and women which they can carry with them all the time throughout their lives! with thin or receding hairline, people may look older than their actual age and with good hair growth elder will look younger!!

Once shouldn't praise himself buy yes, I do get frequent compliments for my look and many times my friends play a quiz with their friends (unknown to me) - Guess his age!! So, all the credit goes to Dr. Pradeep Sethi and his team for the wonderful DHT procedure!

Another thing which I would like to draw your attention is to ; Patient Compliance to the post- operative regime'. Dr .Sethi has prescribed complete regime of hair supplements to be taken orally and applied locally to support and further enhance hair growth. And it is equally important to adhere to it for best and long lasting results! My suggestions to all readers of this post is to follow your respective doctor prescription seriously otherwise you may not get what you are aspiring for!!

Last but not the least, my heartfelt thanks to Dr. Sethi and his team for giving ' New Life' to my personality and making me younger!!

I was benefitted from undergoing DHT at Eugenix and hence I thought it will be only appropriate to share the life changing work done by Dr. Pradeep Sethi and to encourage you to try this whenever you confront hair receding or baldness phase....which is difficult to escape!!

Please feel free to contact me on +65 9075 4602, should you need any clarification or further detail on my experience with overall DHT procedure or journey!! 🙂

    Cheers

    Naresh
