  1. My TOP 5 of 2020
I guess all of us would have a different "roster" picked as our Top 5 Doctors in 2020. I see this choice as when in football you ask someone to pick the best 11 for the National Team... uffff, so many options, so many different teams ... what´s for sure, all of us will always have at least 3 "players" that always remain on that "roster".

At this moment, by 2020, I will for sure have on my "FUE Team" the best three of the moment which in my humble opinion are:
    - Dr Freitas & Dr Couto, with the most impressive results in the past 3 years.
    - Hasson&Wong for always being a guarantee.

After those 3 we have this two to complete the Top 5:

    - Konior
    - Lorenzo

    On the Bench:
    - Lupanzula
    - Feriduni
    - Eugenix
    - Hattingen

Here`s my opinion on the best of best.

    TOP FUE Doctors

    Dr. Raymond Konior

    Dr. Bruno Ferreira

    Dr. Bruno Pinto

    Dr. Sahar Nadimi

TOP Combined FUE + BHT Doctors

    HLC Ankara

    Dr. Kaan Pekiner

Dr. Sethi or Bansal @ Eugenix

    TOP FUT Doctors

    Dr. Raymond Konior

    Dr. Bijan Feriduni

    Hasson&Wong

    Dr. Sever Muresanu

    Feller&Bloxham

For FUE and BHT I prefer Doctors doing the whole surgery (Eugenix being the exception but their technique doesn’t allow them to have just the Doctor doing everything and they do excel at BHT) on just 1 patient per day with either DHI or Stick&Place and with real patients posting amazing results on forums.
The best in the US is considered by most to be Dr. Konior and he also operates on just 1 patient per day with stick&place so it’s safe to assume this technique along with DHI (which is similar and also provides insane results like the ones Couto, Freitas and Pinto have on the Spanish forum) will produce the best results (when in the hands of a great surgeon).

My preference left out many other elite FUE Docs that have truly remarkable results posted by real patients (Couto, Feriduni, Freitas) but these are Doctors that aren’t focused on just 1 patient per day (not as cost effective) or are still doing pre-made slits (which is the best option for FUE surgeries partly delegated to techs because the Doctor does all the slits and only after do the techs implant in the pre-made slits so there’s less of a chance for newbie techs to make mistakes)

For FUT I actually thinks it’s best to have techs because all the grafts are extracted at once from the strip and they must be implanted as quickly as possible thus requiring a tech team to quickly extract the grafts from the slit and to quickly implant in the pre-made slits designed by the Doctor.

I have updated my list of Doctors (prices may not be 100% accurate).

First of all, thanks SO SO much for such an interesting post. It´s great to see all that info together 🤗

However, a piece of advice... I think you should UPDATE some of the data on that file of yours since you are providing some really sensitive information which could mislead people.

You are stating that Dr. Freitas and Dr. Couto DONT do the implanting themselves and this work is done by their Techs...  Where did you get that info?
I know almost 99% for sure that Dr. Couto does ALL the implanting.
And with Dr Freitas results I would also assume that he does the implanting himself. At least, I never saw on the Spanish Forum (the original Forum "Recuperar EL Pelo") someone saying he wasn't doing the implanting.

Also, I have noticed you are using just EUROS on your File... it's not the same 13 Dollars or 13 Euros ... for example, Konior does charge in dollars. If it was in Euros it would mean that he charges 15.4$ per Graft which would be totally insane... 13 dollars is already ridiculous 😵

    Thanks again for your contribution!

I speak fluent Spanish and I’m a member of the Spanish forum (recuperartupelo) where there’s no real patient results from De Freitas and the most viewed thread about him is a thread comparing him with Dr. Ximena Villa.

The Spanish forum is dominated by Dr. Bruno Pinto (Portuguese) and Dr. Ximena Villa (Spanish). You will be hard pressed to find any real patients from Couto or Dr Freitas.

I have just seen 1 real patient results from Dr. Rafael De Freitas and since I don’t look at or comment YouTube, Social Media or Website results I can’t really say anything good or bad about Dr. De Freitas other than the appalling hairmill where he started working (C2MC where my friend had his subpar HT for 1.15€/grafy done by a Senegalese tech).

He has 1 amazing result at HRN but it’s hard find any other real patient result.

I can understand that it’s hard to find real patient results from Dr. Ferreira because he’s operating at Lorenzo’s clinic and must not be able to promote himself freely while affiliated to Lorenzo but I don’t get why it’s hard to find real patients from De Freitas (he’s had his own clinic for years).

    Spanish Forums
I think we should clarify something about the Spanish Forums as you seem to be mixing both and this could confuse people depending on which one of your posts they read.

There is the FAMOUS and most renowned Spanish Forum, "Recuperar EL Pelo", where by the way, Freitas and Couto are the doctors who all are praising and all want to go for... This Forum has been around for a bit more than 14 years (created in 2006)

And then there is the new forum (created in 2018) a COPY of the Famous one and using almost the same name: "Recuperar TU Pelo". It is said about this Copy Forum that was created by Dr Bruno Pinto´s "team" (it's just a rumor but you all know when there is a rumor... ).

And just a number comparing these two Forums, the Famous Spanish Forum, "Recuperar El Pelo" has over 60.000 "Topics" compared to just over 500 "Topics" on the "Copy Forum".

By the way, just on the 1st page of "Particular Cases" (on the Famous Forum "Recuperar EL Pelo") you have 5 Freitas cases!

Wow!!! I´m a footballer fan and I always thought Conte´s was a wig... He recently had an incident in the Europa´s League final when one of Sevilla´s players during an argument on the sidelines, told him that he was wearing a wig : ((

Nice to hear it is a hair transplant, really nice one : )

    Hey Melvin,
Diego López is certainly quite impressive! If you have Instagram I suggest you check his profile where you can see a lot of photos of his new look https://www.instagram.com/diegolopezofficial

As what I said about Nadal, it´s more than rumors that Diego López had his HT with Dr Couto... At least, it´s being talked in different posts within a really well-known Spanish Forum ... also, if you Google "Diego Lopez injerto Dr Couto" on the 2nd result entry you would see that even a Forum admin confirms this fact ... but again, all these are rumors and neither FUExpert Clinic or Diego Lopez have ever confirmed this ... wish this "news" could be public and then we could know for sure these facts since it would help us to evaluate results on famous people... the good results and the not so good ones as the Nadal´s one for example...

And yet another famous Spanish footballer, David Silva, playing his last years in Mancherter City and the Spanish National team ... also rumored that he had his hair transplant done by Dr Couto ... (and sorry that this is not a NW IV but it´s a famous character as someone suggested were Couto´s main patients)

No idea who Nadal's surgeon is/was, but his results aren't great IMO.

I'm not sure whether thats because of a particular hard pattern to treat (pics show diffuse, almost female hair loss pattern) - and even his donor region seems to have thinned quite considerably compared to pics from 10 years ago when he had healthy thick mane of hair!

or whether it was poor surgery. Being spanish and very wealthy, you would have imagined the world would have been his oyster when it came to having his pick of surgeons!

    +1000 Totally with you.

You have all the money in the world and you should have the BEST researchers on such an important matter in your life and... you dont pick one of the best surgeons?!?!? I´m sure Nadal has never visited this Forum or any other Forum in Spain.

Now, we see how important Forums are and how great it is to have clinics and patients showing results and experiences.

12 months: Overall massive important and happy considering it was only 2664 grafts to cover a large area.

Hard to tell but the hairline certainly need's a touch up. I spoke to the Dr and he also agreed that maybe 600 grafts. As styling my hair up even with hair fibres looks abit gappy/spare

HOWEVER I can wear my hair forward without hair gel or hair fibres so that is a massive plus.

Hair is super long due to obvious reasons haha. Hopefully barbers open up soon.

Ohhh yeahhh!! Ahmeda, what a change! And it was not easy to cover all that ... with those grafts!

And the hairline, in my opinion looks good enough... maybe a touch-up in a couple of years but for now, your new look is TOP! Enjoy!!!

    Congratulations bro ; )

It's 6 months now since my transplant, and I attach some photos. A few things to note :

    - I normally dye my hair black, but haven't for a while so there is a different 'look' from now compared to the photos just before the operation.

    - I was getting a little concerned by month 5 as I didn't see much growth, but Scott re-assured me that it will come.

    - My hairline looks much better when I look horizontally in the mirror and the operation has made me look less ugly than before 🙂. Which is nice.

    - The density is a little lacking right now, and I'm hoping that in the next few months it will improve.

    - I use Rogaine foam twice a day and nothing else. (Maybe I should - anyone have any recommendations?)

The key learning for me is that everyone's hair and results are different and some patients will experience amazing looking transformations after just 5 months and seeing their reviews/photos can raise the expectations to un-realistic levels.

In summary, whilst I am happy with the progress so far, I am expecting a lot more hair in my temples by the end of the year. And once the 12 months are over, I'll be able to give a rating out of 10 for the whole process. Till then, it's a case of not looking at myself in the mirror too often, and getting on with the life whilst the follicles do their magic in the background.

    Hello baaloss,

First, thanks for sharing your experience.
I see a little change but it´s for sure you are having a slow growth... but do not worry, many are like this and after the 6 month until the 1 year post-op, boom, all those grafts get there...

Also, those photos and really good since you show the worst look... nobody will look at you from up there.

Be patient and wish u the best ; )

A few months after my FUE DHT at EUGENIX in India on February 25, I finally take the time to share my experience on this Forum.
me: Mr, 55 years old, NW4. on minoxidil for 25 years, I started to lose hair since  age 30 years old.
    FUE of 3000 grafts

The reasons why I chose EUGENIX:
The choice of the surgeon was very difficult for me, with a lot of concern and questions about the procedures (manual or motorized extraction or ARTAS, DHI implantation, or not etc.) on the professionalism of the surgeons, and on the costs, and I will give the main reasons that made me choose EUGENIX clinic, India:

     1) First of all Arika Bensal (https://www.eugenix.in/dr-arika-bansal.html) is a world class surgeon, Gold Medal MD AIIMS (the most prestigious school in India), ABHRS , ISHRS, IAHRS. She founded  the EUGENIX clinic with her husband Dr. Pradeep Sethi who is also MD AIIMS and IAHRS.

     2) The DHT (Direct Hair Transplant) procedure developed by EUGENIX is unique. This procedure involves extracting the graft and implanting it as quickly as possible. Thus the chances of survival    of the graft are maximized and regrowth can be faster. Experiments and scientific publications have proven the benefit of DHT.
Oddly enough this procedure is not used in Europe, probably because it complicates the task of the surgeon. In any case, it is easy to understand that the faster the graft is reimplanted, the better. In Turkey, some surgeon proceeds by iteration of 500 grafts. Eugenix goes much further, it's graft after graft ...

    3) The cost of the procedure is competitive
Certainly because the Clinic is located in India, the cost is much lower than other prestigious European, USA and Turkish surgeons who are referenced like Férudini , schools, bizanga, koray Erdogan, Mwanba, lupanzula etc.

There are 3 different prices per graft  depending on Arika's level of involvement, but the price is always competitive. The minimum price is 80 rupees (1 euro / graft)

    4) Other technical criteria

    • Very good FTR (Follicle Transection Rate). This is a taboo subject, but the FTR can reach 30%, and depends on a lot of parameters like the equipment used, the expertise, the talent, the fatigue of the surgeon. Arika BANSAL demonstrated an extraction of 100 grafts in less than 3 minutes without transection at the 2014 ISHRS Annual Meeting in Malaysia !  possible to Check  on international presentation section of the page
    • Motorized FUE with Doctor Cole's PCID micromotor : less fatigue than manual FUE therefore less risk on the FTR and faster procedure
    • Use of a patented implanter : no manipulation of the root
    • Use of a high-performance microscope

    5) Good opinions on Indian forums: there are many very positive user opinions on Eugenix. The results are natural and undetectable.

    6) The Eugenix clinic : modern, to the highest standards. 2 nights are offered with full board in the clinic. PRP treatment is included in the packaged offer.

    7) The possibility of combining the transplant with a vacation in India or another Asian country at a reduced cost because there are cheap flights from New Delhi to Thailand, Philippines, Bali, Nepal etc.  But my choice was to stay in India, there is a lot to to see !

Here is the report of my operation of February 25:

First of all, I always had great confidence, before, during and after the FUE procedure because the clinic met all my criteria.

Then, I must add that for getting more information, I had consulted several others clinics for evaluations and the N ° 1 clinic in Turkey (no need to indicate the name, it is very well known) had advised me against FUE by arguing that my donor area was poor and that I had not very mature areas, blah blah blah (I kept the email) ... I deduce that some clinics, however very famous, only take simple and easy cases, but it should be the the opposite : a competent and reputable clinic should be interested in complicated cases ! Obviously,  I did not listen to the advice of the No.1 clinic in Turkey ...

Finally and in a very synthetic way, I can say that I am very satisfied with my operation, as well as my vacation in India. I am planning to go back in 2021, possibly for an additional vertex transplant! The results are simply excellent. My new frontal line is a real treat that I enjoy every day. I gained confidence, serenity, confidence. I am more photogenic

I invite you to view the photos at different time intervals (at the very end of my post).

It is important to specify that it is impossible to detect that I had a transplant, on the one hand because the results are very natural and on the other hand because there is no redness or scars. on the recipient area and that there are no white spots on the donor area even after shaving!

I want to clarify that I have no financial interest with EUGENIX. My approach is to help you choose. Indeed, having been there, I know how difficult it is to choose the right surgeon and the right technology. I would have liked to have had the operation earlier, but I would have had to be guided, advised, reassured. So if my post can help you, I'll be happy to.

If you opt for EUGENIX, you can say hello to the whole team from me and I will also be delighted to have your feedback by email: sal (… and further…) sandy (… and further…) @hotmail .fr or better by whatsapp +336 51 then 07 09 04

    Detailed course of the procedure
I contacted the clinic at https://www.eugenix.in/ , exchanged photos, obtained a video consultation with Dr. Arika, obtained a quote by email and set a date for the intervention.

Then I paid Eugenix a deposit. The transfer is done easily, with almost no fees, using the transferwise application (do not use the Android mobile version which crashes when paying).

The day before the operation, February 24, I arrived at the clinic. Nelson (a psychologist) is responsible for accompanying me throughout the stay at the clinic, ensuring my well-being, answering very well and patiently my often very technical questions. This is a very valuable, even essential help, it made my experience even more enjoyable.

After some administrative formalities, blood test, medical check-up, Arika Bansal draws an impeccable forehead line, then pictures are taken, then I am taken to an internal suite at the Eugenix clinic. The comfort of the Room is royal (approximately 40 m2, television, armchair, terrace). The conditions are perfect for a good night's sleep before the operation!

The next day at 9:30 am, the procedure begins. It’s very professional, I am taken care of from start to finish. The staff is friendly. The operating room is modern and macularly clean. It is possible to watch a movie on a TV screen.
After a painless anesthesia, the procedure takes place on my shaved head.

In the option I chose, Arika Bansal performs all incisions and most follicule extractions. About 4 others technicians and doctors coordinate to perform tasks immediately after follicule extraction: harvesting the graft, checking, counting out loud the number of hairs, writing the count in a table, loading the graft into the implanter and implantation of the graft in the incision.

The procedure is painless and I fall asleep. After the lunch break, the procedure continues to end around 6 p.m. After another photo shoot, I am escorted to my room. it is important to rest, and be extremely careful with the grafts. The first nights, I sleep in a semi-seated position.

After 2 nights at the hotel, and several good small meals ordered à la carte, I left the clinic for a tourist tour of Rajasthan.

Did he do Nadal's HT? No idea about football but tennis I follow

Rumors are that Nadal, the tennis player, went to a renown clinic called "Clinica Menorca" in Madrid (a Clinic attended by famous people) which in my opinion was a poor choice. The problem I see is that Nadal himself didnt do the research and had somebody else pick the clinic when this is such an important decision...

Another famous footballer fixed by Dr Couto is Diego Lopez. In his prime he used to play for Real Madrid, Milan and the Spanish National team ...

Decided to try finasteride for 6 months and want to see the results.

how and where can I request the prescription

This is a very interesting Post.
I think you have taken the best decision, try Finas for 6 months and then see and decide...
But I´m with some of the people suggesting to focus on the front. That´s the most important and what all will look at... the crown well... and when you are 60 it may even be fine to have a low density over it.

Will be waiting for your update!
    Best of luck!

  13. That´s looking great man. You are right that if pay pay close attention at details your left side is weaker than your right side but... you see that, many wont even notice it!!!

And at this stage, wow, the evolution is amazing. Just look at the BEFORE pictures and compare... what a change!

Will be waiting for updates! Thanks for sharing realistic pictures which is so important for all of us the community.

    Best!

    spanish footballers i think.

I never gave Cuoto any consideration because of the lack of patient postings.

I guess you might be right... famous footballers and high profile patients should be most of his patients since there are not that many actual patient reviews around... but I dont see all those famous people posting their cases on Forums... I would presume they want it to be a secret 🤫

However, there are exceptions. I have followed Dr Couto (and all Spain-Europe based Doctors) for a long time and certainly he has done several famous footballers, at least I´m almost certain about 4 of them from what I have read on different Forums (but I´m sure there should be a lot more than 4)

For example, Javier Farinos, had his HT several years ago. This footballer didnt care his procedure was public and even took a photo with Dr Couto ... he posted his process on an online Spanish Foro "Foro Recuperar el Pelo".

And the result, well, just see for yourselves:

I don't know much about these doctors to consider them, I agree Cuoto seems like a top doctor. But I haven't seen actual patient reviews yet. I'm much more inclined to go to one of our doctors here like Eugenix, Bisanga, and Konior, all of whom have great patient reviews, and clinic results.

Yeah, I think the same, Couto is a Top doctor (I will finally have my consult with him in October if the Covid situation doesnt send us all back to confinement again). Also, Freitas has been showing quite amazing results for a long long time now. If I were you I would try, at least, to get an online consult with them to see what they have to say. You wouldnt lose anything and who knows... And you even have Lorenzo!!! All of them have many cases posted on (Foro Recuperar el Pelo)

On the other hand, I totally get that you prefer one of those other Doctors who have shown more actual patient reviews, it´s the way to play it safe even if you do not get such an amazing result at the end.

Have you had consults with any of those Doctors? Have they told you about the BHT option? How many beard grafts could they harvest? And if I had to choose one I would go with Eugenix clinic, in my opinion, is the best of those 3 you mentioned.

Thanks again for your reply and for sharing all that great content not just here but also through those nice videos! Wish more people would expose their results as you do it with yours.

I don’t know, most likely someone who can do BHT. Bisanga, Sethi, Konior, they all seem like good candidates.

Melvin!! You looking amazing bro. That hairline of yours it TOP!!!

The donor also looking great, maybe just a little depleted on the left side from what I have watched at the video? But it´s amazing you sill have up to 1500. And if you go for BHT... you could have easily another 1500-2000 since your beard looks to have great density...

Havent you consider Dr Freitas or Dr Couto in Spain? Both have amazing results and they both do BHT... I´m sure they would easily close that crown of yours.

Thanks again for your great post and sharing your daily routines! : )

This Vancouver area patient in his late mid to 30’s began to lose hair in his later 20’s. A more recent evaluation of his hair loss prompted a try of Rogaine for about a year with little success. Finally he decided it was time to visit Hasson and Wong in hopes of improving his hair loss situation. It was determined FUE was the best option and Dr. Hasson and staff proceeded with a 2 day FUE procedure which produced a total of 4855 grafts. Day 1 addressed the front/mid and yielded 2609 grafts of which 300 single hair grafts, 1826 were doubles and 483 were 3-4 hair grafts. Day 2’s total harvest for the crown was 2246 grafts, 1569 doubles and 677 3-4 hair grafts. These photos were taken 1 year post-op with his donor area cut to a #1 guard.  The patient is extremely pleased with his result and wanted to share. We also hope to have him back soon for a video.

This was surely a really complicated case... and it turned out TOP result!

And the donor area is what impresses me the most, so carefully managed that it looks amazing even at that short cut!!!

Congratulations H&W on another super result : )
