  1. I’m not an expert by any means and everything I’m about to say is just my opinion.

for 99% of relationships, the initial “spark” is the physical attraction between two people. Looks basically help get ur foot in the door, it’s not the end all be all. As men, we are heavily looks biased. For many women (Mid 20s and above), u need to meet a minimum looks threshold, then other things come into play: your personality, confidence, status, etc.

As women start to fall in love with their partner, looks take less of priority. Of course you can’t just assume you can now become a slob and not have good hygiene and not take care of yourself.

there are exceptions to everything in life however and there are some women who are heavily looks biased. But that raises the question, did she love you bc of your looks only? If the answer is yes, that relationship wasn’t meant to last anyway. We all get older and less attractive as we age so it’s very unreasonable to expect someone to retain their looks as they get older.

  2. The doctor really pushing it is McGrath out of Texas. I very highly doubt a mediocre hair transplant physician like him would be able to come out with a revolutionary treatment. I mean what are his credentials? Oh yeah he’s a D.O. likely trained in nothing regarding hair.

he was a huge proponent of pushing fut and going against fue, but funny enough now he’s doing fue as well.

Welp, was watching the new Jamie Foxx flick on Netflix:  "Project Power". Now there is a definitive answer as to how Jaime Foxx does it. At 1:02:38, plain as day you can see how he does it.

Although among FUT scars, that is one of the more inconspicuous ones.

Yep he had an fut. had an “artistic” tattoo to cover the scar but it looks like he may have removed it. His hairline after the fut was crazy blocked off and low. I think he had it undone with maybe electrolysis to a more natural height and shape. Looks decent now

Dr. Diep does two things exceedingly well:

    1. Places and designs the hairline perfectly. He has an accute understanding of facial symmetry and proportions. He probably took art classes in college. I mentioned in another thread that if Peyton Manning walked into Dr. Diep's office, he wouldn't walk out with Usher's hairline. If he did, Peyton Manning would look worse and should have stuck with the fivehead.
    2. His yield is excellent. Seems to understand perfectly the depth at which grafts must be placed into the scalp for best yield.

No need for me to further beat what everyone else has already told you about his graft placement (though you should consider thoroughly the shortcomings). But I think you should account for the following:

    • If you check 'NO' to allowing MHTA to shave your head, that does not mean they will work around whatever your existing hair is now in the reciepient area. Your hairline will be shaved back and what is left of whatever hair you have now might just compell you to have checked 'YES'. In other words, you might have one of these haircuts at the extreme. And while you will be able to cover the FUT incision in the immediate aftermath with such a haircut, really you aren't done any favors. But then again, I have no idea what your hair looks like now.
    • You will be given some last minute terms in the minutes just before the procedure and after you've paid for the procedure. Check my thread for some further details on that. Also, if you can, take a snap of those terms with your phone that would help everyone else that is going to go after you.
    • Ask for extra head coverings (7 in total work), Extra barrier sheets (7-10 works), and extra ointment packets (I am thinking 10-14). You won't be given this stuff till the end so be sure to write it down so you remember as you come out from the anesthesia.
    • You're actually better off being as isolated as possible in at least 4 days after the procedure until you can wash the receipent area. Trust me on this one. I am a native of the area where MHTA is located and that is one of the reasons I decided to go with them as well; for the convenience. If I had to recover in the immediate days following the procedure in a active household, I'd probably cut the survival rate of my transplants in half. If you do go with Dr. Diep, or another surgeon, don't let convenience be a factor at all. Pay for that extra lodging and go with the best possible choice.
    • Take the week off following the surgery, even if you can work remotely at your family's house near MHTA. Your mind and soul needs to be completely free of anything that will cause you stress.

Good luck. Look forward to seeing your journey.

Art classes in college? Um...he went to medical school in the Caribbean (fact).

  5. the reality is that the OP looks exponentially better with a framed face and good coverage that is very age appropriate. It’s shaved many years off his appearance. But most importantly, he’s happy with the results, and rightfully so.

to the posters that are yelling “but density!”: this is the reality of hair transplants. I’d place this result up very high especially given the patients starting point. To any norwood 6 that doesn’t think this is a good result, I highly recommend you stay away from HTs and find another solution.

  6. Dr Diep is one of those doctors that has some outstanding results posted here and on YouTube. He is a marketing machine on YouTube and I feel like many of his patients find him on there.

with that said, I think the reality of this doctor is a little more clear on this forum. The past few years there have been many complains regarding donor management and now recipient issues such as the ones already mentioned.

i think he designs some great hairlines but has some of the most unnatural temple point restorations I’ve ever seen (non African hair)

I consulted with him over the phone and it was quite pleasant for what it’s worth. But in this industry results are what matter

I get it....I had your same attitude....but take it from me, a guy who rushed in to surgery with a doctor not recommended here with patient posted results and ended up with disastrous results and had to then come on here looking for help from an ethical doctor to fix those issues. If I was dead set on doing this surgery and I just waited for my surgery with a great ethical doctor I would have saved time, money, and a lot of stress.

the fact that you think that worst case scenario you will just need a touch up tells me that you, just like me didn’t do enough research into how detailed this surgery is and all the things that can go wrong if you go to the wrong doctor. Konior or any doctor near his level is worth the wait.

OP listen to this guy. Do not rush into this surgery. Dr Yates is a former Bosley doctor.

  8. 1. Why is it not required? What if a patient wants a gelled/wet hairstyle?

    3. Isn’t the purpose of FUE to be able to cut your hair short?

    5. This cannot be stressed enough and more clinics need to be transparent about this

    8. I’d be careful with this statement. There are 10 year finasteride studies showing efficacy for a majority of patients but it’s far from a drug that will stop hair loss forever.

    9. there is also dutasteride

  9. There’s differing opinions on this. I’ve heard people get off fin while they are trying to conceive. Others say it does not matter. I believe there was a rep on here by the name of spex that claimed he had healthy children on fin and maybe even dut. I would definitely talk to your doctor about this and maybe even an endocrinologist to get their opinion.

Hey @LonelyGraft I think the donor looks good as you can see I had a low skin fade and there are some small dots visible where it’s basically bald around the nape area, but tbh I don’t think you’d notice unless you’re a HT nerd (like we all are here)

I neglected to take any photos of the donor but I’ll do it when I get chance.

Cool thanks. Did they tell you how many grafts you have left?
