  1. Thank you for sharing buddy. These kinds of reports make all the difference. It is why this forum is such an amazing resource. Who did your surgery? Was it Erdogan himself? I am wondering if you have legal recourse to getting partially refunded and using that money elsewhere. Probably not since it was not technically a failed transplant. But there are other people on here that can help with that I’m sure. If he is getting his tech to do repairs (which is probably the case) I wouldn’t even bother. I would go to somebody who has experience with repairing hairlines. They might even give you a better price because of your situation. Otherwise if you go back , the clinic will dive back into your donor (which is always surgery no matter what) and you’ll have no guarantee of success. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice etc
  2. I think it has to do with budgets, expectations, and yes, where you are on the Norwood scale. If a guy has no hair whatsoever and he is given a decent rug on his head (one that many people would say looks unnatural and bizarre), to his eyes he most likely would feel rejuvenated by it. This happens in cosmetic surgery all the time. There’s a reason that not everybody has great cosmetic surgery done. Think of all the bad facelifts, boob jobs, rhinoplasties etc.- you’d be surprised by how happy people are with results that I and others would never accept. Personally if I absolutely had to and I was a higher norwood, I would do a big FUE on the crown and mid scalp with Asmed and then go to somebody else for the hairline itself. But since we are being totally honest? I just wouldn’t go to Turkey at all. Assuming you are in the United States, there are some great people here. Possibly the best in the world. I don’t think I need to throw names around but it’s obvious who they are. If something goes wrong (unlikely) you are going to be taken care of instantly. Even Mexico offers good options these days if budget is the issue. The idea of flying back and forth to turkey to correct a poor result sounds like a nightmare. The money you spend on all the airfare and hotels could easily cover an upgrade to an A-list surgeon. My feeling is that the clinic is very good at promoting success stories and their leading doctor Erdogan is a technically minded guy who is a permanent fixture on the FUE panel circuit. He even presides over the FUE association or whatever it is. But none of that means anything if results are poor and from what I have seen they are indeed poor. Maybe he is not doing the surgeries himself since they have so many patients. Or maybe he’s just a good salesman with a great photographer in those impressive results. But yeah. If you want a Ferrari don’t walk into a Toyota dealership.
  3. This looks awful and exactly what I pointed out: weird quiff effect, hairline starts out of the blue, etc I wouldn’t let them pay me to go through that. When people tell you to run away from FUE mega session factories these videos give them reasons to say that
  4. I have seen some good results from him but I have seen some hairlines that look absolutely terrible, at least to somebody who believes that hairlines should be age-appropriate and not draw attention to themselves. I’m not a surgeon but I can tell you what my observations are. It seems that a lot of his hair lines have the following problems. - they are straight lines ie no natural recession. - the direction of the hair is eerie and sometimes gives a quiff-like effect. and the BIGGEST issue, in my opinion: - there is no subtle transition from the forehead to the hairline. It gives this bizarre Legoman look and frankly why I never even considered him as a possibility for my transplant. I am sure there are people on here that can explain better why his hairlines starts so strongly with no subtlety. Perhaps it has to do with the number of single unit follicles implanted there or something along those lines. I always thought of his work as more of a “rug on the head” kind of situation. For some that’s good enough but I’d be happier with a natural, conservative approach rather than a drastic mega session that leaves me looking like wiggin’ John Travolta
  5. You’re more of a NW Va to be honest I think it comes down to how many grafts you have in the bank (ie donor area) and whether you want one big surgery (prob FUT) or possibly two smaller FUE ones. Nothing right or wrong with either approach. It comes down to finances, your thoughts on scarring, and how desperately you want a full-ish head of hair. I was a NW VA and I got a conservative number of grafts (2000) in the front and a little in the mid. that’s because I didn’t want an FUT scar and I am confident my doctor can get a lot out of those 2000 grafts. but I will prob go back in a year or so and get more mid and the crown done. Another 2000 grafts. And I am happy to take it step by step. Some folks are so depressed over their hair, they want it fixed now. I get it. Everyone is different.
  6. So if I apply sunscreen to my grafted area and wearing a SPF hat I can sit on the beach for a few hours and tan? is it worth it though?
  7. hey guys I'm 2 months post FUE and in sunny California. I would love to get some color while I'm here and hit the beach. Obviously I am wearing a cap everywhere I go. Just curious of there is ANY way I can safely tan without compromising the grafts? Is it worth it?
  8. she was booked 4 months out. I actually saw her first, then Konior second (who had a 12+ month waitlist), then consulted a bunch of other doctors, and finally settled on her. she was my first consultation so I did a LOT of work researching people before committing to her.
  9. hey all 6 weeks post op- has 2000 grafts FUE. Fully in ugly duckling mode. I buzzed by hair a week ago because it was growing out at the back and sides. Looks much better when uniformly even. Assuming that I see graft growth 3-4 months in, when do you guys think it would be best to let the donor area grow out? i ask because one month post op my donor looked a bit thin and I am curious how much “runway” (or time) is needed for the donor to fully thicken from a buzzcut. In other words: if I let my donor and recipient grow out 4 months post-op, should I expect a good head of hair about 2 months later? Trying to strategize
  10. Hi Raptor about 8 months after the consultation

  12. According to my surgeon, unlike other hair surgeries (which aren’t truly scarless) taking grafts from the neck beard actually IS scarless. My surgeon is conservative and very careful about wording so it makes me believe that this is indeed a scarless procedure if done correctly. From what I can tell very few doctors know how to do it. I would tread carefully.
  13. Ok so basically buzz cut for 3 months and then when the top grows (around month 4-6 let the back grow so that it all evens out? im assuming once you have 100% growth in the recipient you can let everything grow out and it will look good
  14. Righto but as we discussed in private it seems that it’s better to go with a buzz cut or grow the donor out for a while - as opposed to keeping a short style that shows the thinning area in the donor

  16. Thanks Melvin.is there any benefit to growing out the donor area during the recovery.? Does it help with density and healing?
  17. Hey Melvin Is your advice aplicable to someone who is way beyond their recovery, with a fully healed donor area? Or is this just for the ugly duckling? Re Donor hair cut : you’re essentially saying to either go REALLY short or let it grow out ao that it covers the area, correct? as opposed to the middle ground 1-2 months post op) where it still kinda looks sparse ? is there any healing benefit to growing the donor out post procedure?
  18. Well... it makes you “out of it”. I definitely was talking jibberish during my surgery... not to the point of being irritating but definitely in that classic altered state way
  19. Did you have your head shaved for the second procedure just like you did for the first??
  20. Jack Black thickening is AMAZING. crazy how much of a difference a good thickening shampoo makes!!
  21. 1 month FUE post op and I’m tempted to shake some Caboki on my ugly duckling scalp (recipient area and crown) thoughts?
  22. hey friends I'm exactly 1 month post-op (FUE) and entering the ugly duckling phase. I still have my hairline from the procedure but it's fading day-by-day and soon I'll be quacking full-time. question: how did you FUE veterans handle it, re: your hairstyle? did you buzz everything down (including the recipient area) maybe to a 0 or 1 guard? or did you let everything grow out? apply Topik? and at what point did you just let it do its thing and watch it grow out? trying to figure out my strategy. I also don't want to interfere with the process and I am not sure if buzzing the recipient hair (i.e. the grafts) is a bad idea during this delicate 3-4 month phase
  23. Hey all I’m curious - to those of you who had multiple FUEs over time... - how did the second FUE procedure compare to the first? Was it pretty much exactly the same? - how did the second procedure impact your donor area? Are you super thinned out now (particularly for those higher Norwood’s with average donor such as myself) - did the second procedure impact your previous grafts from the first procedure in any way? - how long did you wait to do it? thanks follicular friends
