  1. I looked it up and those symptoms are way more severe than what I’m experiencing. mine disappears over time - the thing you mentioned is chronic
  2. So I’m 3 weeks out of FUE and something unexpected is happening when I wake up : i have long lines on my scalp from where my head rested against the pillow. They’re really bad! Almost like scars. It take a while for them to go away throughout the day and they run all the way down my scalp and onto my forehead i do remember noticing a few lines on my head when I had hair (as opposed to now - post FUE shaved head) but I’m pretty sure it was not this bad. could it be related to swelling or just part of the general “poking around” after effects? I’m even thinking about buying a special pillow conducive to sleeping on one’s back ...
  3. We’re not doctors (though some pretend they are...) Follow Melvin’s advice and look at doctors’ results then go from there having a consultation and asking what kind of follicular implantation technique the doctor uses - if the question is posed in a doubtful, second guessing kind of way - would probably drive most surgeons nuts.
  4. I’m 3 weeks post op. First 5 days post op I was at the hotel by the clinic and pretty much lived like a recluse. Days 5-14 I was in downtown Chicago and given that I was told I could walk around I definitely did exactly that - I walked around. Definitely not in the scorching sun - but there were a couple of 20-30 min walks in which I was exposed to sun. I would break the walks up by going inside and stuff if it helps. Nowhere NEAR sun burn territory. Just your average city strolls. luckily we had many rainy and cloudy days so I’m only talking 3-4 days total. Now ? I wear a hat outside and I do wonder if I misunderstood “sun exposure”. To me “sun exposure” meant tanning or playing tennis in direct sunlight for 2 hrs straight. It did not mean wearing a hat every single time I stepped foot outside , elephant man style. But im curious to know if I totally erred on this one.
  5. To be clear: I’m not talking about a 3 hr walk in 90 degrees. I’m talking “walk 5 blocks to a restaurant” in moderate sunshine kinda thing are we supposed to go full Nosferatu for 6 months or something? (He’s not exactly a follicular role model, either)
  6. Hey guys 1 week post FUE I basically returned to a normal lifestyle which included walking around outside. i didn’t go for epic strolls or anything but I didn’t wear a hat (didn’t want to damage my grafts) and some days were inevitably sunnier than others. I assumed the warnings against sun exposure were limited to standing in the baking sun for 2+ hrs. But now I’m not so sure.
  7. Thanks Delancey I can see arguments for higher Norwoods wanting more coverage immediately via FUT and for cheaper but in my case, I have the patience (and hopefully I’ll continue having the resources) to do FUE again to address the rest of my scalp. i just really, really didn’t want a linear scar. but I respect those who get it done and love their quasi- instant gratification with 3500-4000 grafts
  8. I think you’re fine but i would talk to the clinic and get their opinion
  9. Hey buddy when did you notice that there weren’t hairs? Do you have a photo of the immediate post op? That should tell you if the grafts were planted there or not (which seems v unlikely)
  10. Hey all, I am 16 days out of my 1800 graft FUE procedure with Dr. Nadimi in Chicago at the Chicago Hair Institute. I can wholeheartedly say that I am super happy with my choice and, should I choose to have another procedure in the future, I absolutely will return to Dr. Nadimi and her team. She's a GREAT Doctor - incredibly focused and responsive. If you have any questions feel free to ask. It's interesting how private people are about their experiences with her- I honestly think that most of her patients get their procedures done and they bounce-back so insanely fast, they just get on with their lives. She's A+ all the way.
  11. I am in NYC and just had FUE at Konior’s Chicago Clinic with Dr Nadimi Very happy
  12. Do I need to ask my doc about posting a review ? I am two weeks out of FUE it’s a glowing review but I just wondered if it’s akin to someone reviewing a movie that hasn’t finished shooting yet. And also if, like some patients, some docs are less than thrilled about getting their work splashed around without consent
  13. Well fellas - just like clockwork... I washed my hair this morning and for the first time noticed a few hairs out of my recipient area lol! question: does early shedding usually mean earlier growth ? Almost prefer getting the shedding out of the way sooner
  14. Hey guys im two weeks out on fue... no shedding whatsoever am I out of the woods or is the ugly duckling coming for me? Lol
  15. Thanks Louis in your opinion does the transplanted hair help to cover areas that have not been operated on? in other words.... if I got a transplant that targets the hairline, would any of those hairs help to mask my baldness in the mid-scalp? Depending of course on the hair style
  16. Hey all i just had a little under 2000 grafts implanted with FUE. I’m a higher NW (5a) and I embraced the idea that I would be doing more than one operation to give me the desired coverage. to those of you who had multiple FUEs done over time.... how long did you wait between procedures? im assuming it’s wise to wait for those 2000 grafts to fully sprout before even tackling another procedure addressing crown/mid? did the process differ in any way from one procedure to another? Or is it exactly the same, but with the added bonus of knowing what you’re getting into?
  17. Honestly I don’t think anything HELPS but there are def things that might hinder it like smoking, picking at the grafts, spending 10 hrs in baking sunshine.... i am 9 days out of a fue and I’m basically doing the same things I did prior minus heavy exercising. Propecia, rogaine, viviscal, vitamin C, unmedicated shampoo every day. A lot of the recovery is naturally taken care of by your body without you doing anything
  18. Hi John! Welcome to the forum. i think it would help a lot if you could post some pics of your scalp from various angles
  19. Hey all Whats the general consensus on tar shampoos and both hair loss and hair transplants? Is it safe to use after a procedure to clear up a mild case of foliculitis in the crown area?
  20. thx spex! so I'll hit the elliptical this week (which will be 7 days post FUE op) and then graduate to strength/HIIT next week (14 days post-op)... does that sound responsible?
  21. Hey all i had my FUE on Monday so I am coming up to 1 week post op. Everything went extremely well and I am so glad with my choice of surgeon and clinic (Chicago hair institute) How soon after your procedure did you resume exercising? I’m thinking of doing elliptical cardio 1x day this coming week and then resuming strength training next week (so 2 weeks post surgery) just curious to hear what your exercise routines were like after surgery !
  22. Hey all how long after FUE did you feel comfortable enough to walk around in public without feeling self conscious about the way your head looked post-surgery?
