  1. 2499 +1 grafts with dr. Steven Gabel Hillsboro Oregon. After a couple years research I decided to schedule my Fue HT with Dr Gabel. we spoke a few times over the phone and after speaking with him, and reading other testimonials, I felt completely confident in his abilities to schedule a consultation. I booked my flight from the East Coast to go meet him at his facility. After meeting with Dr Gabel at his office and having a very lengthy in-depth consultation, I was confident enough to go ahead with the tentatively planned surgery the following day. Together we put together a game plan for my HT, that was realistic and efficient we figured between 2000 and 2500 graphs and designed a realistic hairline to accommodate the Harvest. The next morning brighten early I was greeted by his staff of 10 who were absolutely welcoming and hospitable... all there for mine and mine only private procedure. After a quick revaluation and some measurements I was ushered back to a completely sterile staged clean procedure room with a full staff looking at me in full shrubs, ready to go. The procedure lasted approximately 12 hours, the first six hours Dr Gabel tediously extracted my graphs followed by the remaining six hours of meticulous incisions, and placement, with a few breaks for lunch and bathroom in between. I think what separates Dr Gabel apart from the rest first of all is his passion for this particular surgery and you can hear it and feel it in his energy when he speaks and shares his extensive knowledge about hair transplant surgery as well as his advice. And also the fact that Dr Gabel extracts all the grafts himself as well as places the graphs as well. There was not a moment that went by (other than short breaks) where Dr Gabel was not, literally seated next to my head for the entire 12-hour procedure. This made me very comfortable, and all the difference for me. I can't say enough about his staff of absolutely welcoming experienced young ladies, who all work together like a well-oiled machine. After Dr. G extracted the graphs and the team did the final count we all had a good laugh because the count came to exactly 2499... as a perfectionist this was not good enough for Dr. G Who set up his punch one more time for one more graft to make it an even 2500... After what was a very long tedious day the crew wrapped me up took care of me and I went back to my hotel. the next morning I received a text from Dr Gabel asking how I felt and was eager to get me back in the office for a follow-up... upon arriving he was amazed that the healing that had already had taken place, and again put me in the hands of his completely capable crew who remove my bandages and dressings, and spent over two hours cleaning and redressing my head for my flight home. ... all in all a fantastic experience there was never a moment I didn't feel I was in a fully capable competent hands. Now time for the healing and the process... I will check back I tried to blog as much of this as I can. Norwood ll Donor stats: 1 Hair / 382 /15.3% 2 Hair / 1,140 / 45.6% 3 Hair / 868 / 34.7% 4 Hair / 110 / 4.4 %
  2. Looks great, and more growth to come. Slow and steady wins the race. Im leaving tonight to travel across the country for a similar size surgery with Dr. Gable (2500 Fue) ....good luck on the rest of your growth!...oh and contratz on your "sextupule" I hope i have hundreds of those lol..._Matty
  3. ...time on the drug doesn't matter. People have reported PFS after only a few weeks on the drug.

  5. i agree with tim taylor seems like a low graft number considering...any updated progress photos?
  6. To the original Poster, Curious if you were taking Vit D while on Fin? More and more is pointing to the itching and rash to Vit D in my own case which coincidentally i was taking way to much of when i started Fin...
  7. when you say "you didnt have an erection for two weeks" you mean in spite of physical stimulation? or just no natural occurring erection?? big difference.....
  8. well i for one am happy to report that iam 8 days POST Fin after taking it almost 3 months...and although it was clear my hormones were all over the place the past week, (with a definite "crash" involved, even some ED and even a lot of strange anxiety and emotions)...i seem to come through this phase, and now every thing is working just as it should this weekend thanks God. Morning wood, is back, sex drive is normal, semen, ejaculation, arousal all good to go! (many times this weekend as a matter of fact : )) and there is just an overall feeling that an adjustment has been made ....which tells me that my theory is correct. PFS is real however something that should be expected...its a hormonal "crash" and a period of time where the body "rights" itself. Just like any drug there is a crash. I think, if more DRs maybe told their patients to expect this, and maybe even treat it, there wouldn't be so much fear and horror surrounding it (which surely doesn't help the situation) . That being said im sure there are people for whatever reasons unbeknownst to me, who dont come back 100% from this...or maybe take longer. Maybe my own anticipation of this, and common sense approach helped being that i supplemented a (PFS supplement stack) MACA which is well known to balance hormones and increase libido, but stimulating certain glands idk....but iam just glad my system is back to normal. The only thing iam still getting is these random hives and itchy skin?...i cant figure out why. I even stopped minoxidil being its the only other factor i didn't rule out....guess we shall see.... One other thing id like to note, is to the guys going through this issue with ED / libido etc...be open with your GF or partner , being ashamed or keeping it a secret cant help, iam grateful to have such a beautiful woman, and open relationship with my girlfriend who i disclosed every thing with...it really made all the difference for me, as she was very supportive and understanding.....including many "test runs" and high fives after sex when everything was back to normal : )....just my .02$
  9. exactly look at Fen Phen... PFS does seem to be more prevalent in young men ive noticed nearly every horror story ive read on the extreme side, involving sexual dysfunction etc seemed to be a young guy in his 20's or 30's.
  10. I agree with you....makes you re evaluate how important hair is after a good scare on Fin. My goal is to do a HT this winter, and let the cards fall where they may...No Fin...No minoxidil....just a HT. And hopefully that gets me well into my 60s at least (im 49 now). Even noticing some sides with Rogaine now after 1yr str8...heart palpitations, and who knows if my allergic reaction and rash was from the Minoxidil and not the Fin..?...either way HT, with no chemicals or Rx is the path i will take from here on in. Rolling the dice with impotence shows how desperate we all are, but losing one of the greatest pleasures is not the way i plan on spending the rest of my life thats for sure.
  11. I agree Bill...Dr's seem to push Fin even though there is a huge "grey area" shrouded around this drug. I would be interested to hear their feedback to topics such as this one....
  12. ...I just slowly weened myself off Propecia after about 2.5 months....coming off is proving to have its own challenges as well. I started breaking out in itching fits, some kind of allergic reaction as soon as i switched from generic to Propecia (about 1 month in) ....hives etc. I took my last 1.25mg dose on 10/21 and started to get get what some would probably refer to as PFS....Slight anxiety and Im still getting hives/itchiness almost every nite, or at least random itchy skin (although im still on Minoxidil) . And have been experiencing some performance issues in regards to ED (erection quickly goes away seconds after stimulation stops) . That being said i think what people refer to as this dreaded permanent PFS is merely hormone levels trying to go back to normal, and a prostate gland that is now most likely swelling back up after being shrunk for almost 3 months...and really PFS should be expected!....Same as a bodybuilder coming off a testosterone cycle, there is absolutely a crash IMO. Honestly it has me concerned with all the horror stories ive read about "permanent ED" and "impotence", but i highly doubt once the bodies hormones level out and return to normal, so will everything else. (my theory hopefully) The itching still has me concerned as well as there are good days and bad...all in all from what ive read about allergic itching skin iam in the minority (lucky me) bc i had a great result with Fin. as you saw in my b4 & after post. So what i personally am doing, is putting myself on high Testosterone and hormone balancing supplement "post fin cycle" to hopefully get me back to normal. (Vitamin D, DHEA, Zinc MACA etc). Hate to say it but i dont agree with what your Dr told you about side effects taking 6 months....although i didn't really get any sexual side effects DURING the use of fin (maybe very mildly i deff lost my "morning wood" yet had no problem with getting/keeping an erection) i deff had other side effects during, and now after. I find it very concerning that there is this sort of 'grey area" with the drug that absolutely exists, yet Dr's seem to know nothing about. Lets face it they arent taking the pill are they?...its like Area 51 shrouded in mystery lol....So for me after reluctantly using it for almost 3 months, i find although it deff grows hair back..that its just too unpredictable for me....just my .02$
  13. Which ones are they? i would give it a try....I agree with the testosterone analogy...as for the estrogen implication...are you saying that LESS testosterone, and more estrogen would slow Hairloss ...bc i was thinking the opposite in my own case. Seemed like my hair loss happened right at an age where my T levels dropped.
  14. I also feel that my own recent hairloss was hormone related. Ive had thick hair all my life and only minor receding in the normal level which only started about 5 yrs ago....about 2 yrs ago my hair loss speeding up dramatically without warning or cause?...ive always felt it was hormonal. And plan of getting T - levels checked to see if maybe low testosterone may have been the cause?
  15. I think im going to cycle it 3months on 3 months off....I think this will bring the bodys hormone levels back after a short time on the drug, while monitoring any dreaded PFS effects..and if all is good go back on...
  16. Wow! Such an improvement im sure you are happy...!
  17. Fin absolutely affects hormone levels...which is why its surprising to me that there isnt more CLEAR clinical studies and treatments associated with this drug. Im by no means a Doctor, but it would see to me that this PFS that some seem to experience could be bc of a hormone spike and then crash.....It reminds me of something similar to what a Body builder would experience when on steroids after doing a cycle of Test and other androgenic or anibolic steroids. Which is why when i noticed a slight crash in my libido, i started to take testosterone, and hormone inducing supplements. I started taking Maca, which is known to regulate hormone levels as well as increase libido....along with zinc, and other supplements. It seems to me that your PFS doctor you mentioned would have treated you syndrome by dialing in your hormones after the crash on FIn?? At any rate, for me i will just get off this seemingly unpredictable drug until they figure out how it effects the immune system and hormones. Nothing is worth what you seem to have gone through. And even though im not having any ED or Libido issue (that i can tell) the subtle issues iam experiencing, like rash, hives, itchy scalp, itching spells, tingling in the lips, dry skin etc...seem to "developing issues" in that, the effects of this drug CHANGE which tells me its NOT consistent, or worth a future "developing" issue...i mean whats next??? is what you will constantly ask yourself. In closing its a shame bc Fin works for sure...its the only thing that works that ive tried. It grew my hair back. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/188196-finasteride-3-month-results.html The only thing i would ask would be did the hair that Fin grew fall back out after you stopped? if so how long after? My hope is to hopefully keep what grew with minoxidil although im not very optimistic about it.
