  1. My experience: I highly recommend going to Turkey to get the procedure. I wish I had pulled the plug earlier. Turkey is safe, Istanbul is beautiful, the people are nice, and I met other people who were getting the procedure which was awesome to have a support group. Ive been keeping a day by day journal to track what’s happening and I’ll post it to help others who are interested. Fespafer private message me if you’d like.
  2. Me: Hi, I am a 36 year old male from the states & I have made the decision to travel to Turkey to get a FUE Hair Transplant Procedure. I am from Los Angeles however I’m currently living/working in Florida. I am about to board a flight from Orlando to London to Istanbul. History: I have been doing online research for a doctor for almost 2 years on Hair Restoration Network & other resources online. I have been looking into this procedure since probably over 10 years ago when I went to Bosley in Newport Beach to get a consult. Since my 20’s I started experiencing hair loss, not bad but I knew it was coming bc my older brother went bald so I was always preparing. I’ve used a lot of products from finasteride to minoxidil to random stuff and I am currently on nothing. I restarted finasteride but I stopped & I’m done for good. I never experienced any side effects but many people have & they advised against it. Also my logic was why would I need it since the hairs being transplanted were not affected by dht. I know doctors still try to push it when you do the surgery which is why I went back on it however I’m done with it for good. Im not going to mess with my hormones or testosterone levels. Decision: I chose Dr. Ali Emre Karadeniz. I looked at & contacted Dr. Erdogan, Dr. Yaman, Dr. Civas, Dr. Cinik and more. All these doctors are great. This is how I decided on a doctor or narrowed it down which I recommend to all (this website also recommends doctors which I used): go to the -> American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery ABHRS &/Or International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery ISHRS I figured if a doctor is certified by these governing boards that should be an excellent starting point. I also accounted for the costs of doing the surgery in the states, Europe & Asia and it was going to be the most affordable with great results & care in Istanbul. Turkey was the winner for me. Purpose: The reason I am giving my time for this thread is to help other guys like me. Guys like me who read a million reviews & went back & forth. Also I was hoping to get help from this community during my post op. Disclaimer I am not getting paid for this nor did I get a discount. I paid a $250 deposit to book my date Thursday December 6th & I will pay the full rest of the amount Wednesday. Dr. K has different packages to choose from. I did the standard package & I will explain why later. That was a tough decision. This whole process has been difficult. I believe forums like this & posts like this help both the patient & doctor track the progress & results. It’s a good way to keep everyone honest by showing real results not cherry picked ones. And last but not least to keep the provider accountable. I will let y’all know how things go. When I land, the consult, design, procedure & post op.
  3. Thank you Dr. K, This is an interesting thread about TRANSECTION RATE and how only trained physicians should be doing this part. A true trained doctor will have a better eye and as you follow the thread Dr. K does say that there could be techs who are trained up and could do just as a good job but the gamble of having a newly unexperienced tech/assistant doing the graft harvesting and site incisions should be only done by a doctor. I would like to know who the 10 doctors are that he speaks of and those are the doctors we should all go to. Cheers
  4. I apologize I am not sure why my reply got posted 3 times. I tried to delete it or edit it. If an admin can delete the duplicates please.
  5. Hey Luke, Really appreciate your thread. Dr. Cinik is on my list. I am also from LA and its so hard to decide between one of the best like Dr. Koray Erdogan who is excellent but sort of expensive and I feel like everyone who gets a procedure from him gets the max 5000 grafts. And while I respect Dr. Koray's work I think when a doctor grows naturally his facility grows and you don't get much time from him but his staff who every clinic will say are the best but who knows. Nonetheless I am still considering Dr. Koray. I also have Dr. Cinic and a few other doctors that I have followed some people from Dr. Yaman to Dr. T to Dr. Karadeniz. Its so tough. Thank you for your thread. And thank you for all the members. This website is a huge resource. -m

  9. Hey buddy, Dr. T is one of the doctors on my list bc hes a ABHRS board certified doctor. I like what you said about the big name doctors like the aka king who only do the consult. Its hard to find a doctor who will be there throughout most of the procedure. What was the cost? And how are you doing?
  10. Hey Chev, Great write up thank you for the sharing so much with us. With the proscar are you splitting it into quarters? And why are you taking it every other day? I heard castor oil is great. Also the minoxidil will help with preventing hair loss in your crown area. From what I have read it doesn't really help with the temporals or top. As for dandruff I think the nizoral and keeping your scalp moisterized will help. I think if you grow out your hair in the back you wont have to worry about it. I think use hair product and start to brush or comb the back of the head to train the hairs to fall down to cover the areas of concern. Overall looks great.
  11. Hey Chev, Thanks for posting about your surgery experience. I'm sure many of us want to get your feedback. Dr. Yaman is a doctor I am considering to have my HT with. As far as your concerns: Dr. Erdogan the "king" does more than one surgery per day in fact from reading recent reviews it seems he does 3-4 per day and he also does not do all the surgery. There is only 1 doctor that I read about on this forum who performs the whole procedure on his own and I believe he only does 500 grafts per day. When I contacted Dr. Erdogan and Dr. Yaman they both recommended I take finiasteride. I understand the side effects but I've also read about how that is a placebo and when men age their sexual desire decreases. It's a trade off and it really is a case by case basis plus if you think about a mans confidence is dependent on his looks so if you do not think you look good you're probably not going to be horny. I would recommend taking finasteride since you're investing money and time into this whole process you might as well give it a good shot for success. 1 doctor told me it wasn't necessary but that it would help. Which to be honest I figured was the case. Based on the reviews and recommendation I think you will be in good hands. You look like you have a good donor area. I'm eager to watch your results. Good luck
  12. Hey Eric, Can you please let update us on your procedure? Thank you
  13. Hey Bob, How was your surgery in March? Can you please let us know. Thank you
  14. Hey Nsar, Can you show us how your hair looked before the surgery? Also you're i think 9 months at this point? Any update please of pictures in the light. Any info like density, meds youre on and stuff for us to consider. Thank you
  15. Hey HJB, You said you're 2 weeks post op with Dr. Yaman and following Lamarck's progress. A lot of us like you are use this forum and community to make decisions. Can you please share your story. Create a new thread and give us feedback. I am strongly considering Dr. Yaman and wanted to hear from people like you. Please let the community know about your procedure. Thanks
  16. Hey, I wanted to ask you for updates and find out about your density? Please let us know as there are many people considering this doctor. Thansk
  17. Hey Nuim, Do you think the doctor should of gone more dense than 45 cm2? Just curious if anyone reading this what is the most density a doctor has quoted? I saw today on a HT website that stated they can do 60-80 cm2. I am curious as this density is critical to getting a natural look. Thanks
  18. Hi, I am 34 and I stopped taking Propecia (Finasteride) in my late 20's because I thought I would just let me hair loss take its course and once it got bad I would get a Hair Transplant. I am now being informed that I need to get back on Propecia if I want a HT. I thought the point of a HT was that the hairs we are using are hair that is not effected by DHT. I never felt any side effects while on Propecia but the thought of being on medication that will mess with your hormones does not sound appealing as I age. When i was younger I was more willing to put anything in my body but now I am more cautious as I want to live a long and healthy life. I want to ask all the members of this site, Did your physician ask you to go on Propecia for a Hair Transplant? What are your thoughts on Propecia for a HT? Any other thoughts or feedback are welcomed. Thank you, Michael
  19. Dr. Feller, I wanted to clarify what you said in regards to using the microscope. Did you mean they need glasses/goggles that had a microscope on them while they extract or implant? or Did you mean after the grafts are removed that they need to use a microscope to check the graft whether it was healthy, how many hairs it has on it...? Thank you so much, Michael
  20. Hey TJ, Any pictures? Final results or feedback? Thanks
  21. Thank you Dr. Feller and Matt. The point about using true follicular units and not minigrafts is something that many may not consider and is probably understated. Good point about choosing a doctor with proven results and reputation based on past patients. Doctors hand pick their technicians to represent themselves. They are a team.
  22. Hi, I am strongly considering getting a HT. I have read too many reviews and I need everyones opinion. People say stay away from tech mills (obviously) but even the best doctors use techs to do most of their work. The best respected doctors with the greatest work do not do all the surgery themselves. How much of the surgery should the doctor perform? Drawing of the hairline? Extraction? Incision? Implant? Anesthesia? How many patients per doctor per day is an acceptable/ethical number? Anything else? Please give me any information you can. I need to know as much as I can before I choose a physician. Just like everything in life money is a major factor. Currently I can get a surgery from a doctor that I have seen on here with good reviews with what I have in my budget. Or I can save up a little bit more and go to a better recommended doctor. But the better recommended doctor uses techs to do most of his work just like the doctor that I can afford now. I'm not sure what to do and I appreciate any feedback. How did you decide on your doctor? How much of your surgery was done by a tech versus the actual doctor? Thank you, Michael
  23. Hi Intoodeep, I am curious which doctor did you choose to have your ht? Can you please tell us more about your experience. Thanks
  24. Hey, I'm curious how a zero clippers or without a guard looks. Can you please post a pic. 6 months post op if we wanted to buzz our hair size 0 zero is that ok? I mean we have the front hairline which is a good look and can pull off that look. I'm just curious fur options. Ideally I would want 1-2 size on sides with long on top. Thanks
