What you need to ask for is a "graft count sheet." It was what I was given. I'll share soon. Basically, it's shows the total number of grafts, breakdown by 1, 2, 3, etc., average per follicle, hair caliber, transection (full and partial), donor management breakdown, fue punch, technique used, time, etc.

Where are you located? It really depends on your goals. You mentioned some hairlines appear to "float over the forehead." That's less about design and more about having enough grafts for a future work. Most likely he could not get a more aggressive hairline, maybe aggressive hair loss, family history. Yes, planning for the future is what you should look for in a doctor. Tell me "exactly what you want to achieve" and I'll give some suggestions. I want this hairline... Kind of sound like you're maybe second guessing the hair transplant. Just throwing it out there. You don't need to get one.

Maybe in my younger years that statement would have bothered me lol this look is "exactly" what I wanted. mature-ish hairline, slight template closure, taking into account my ethnic bg, and non-dire for another ht. One of the reasons I went with Dr. Rahal. He could design exactly what I was after. One of your decisions when getting a hair transplant is not just about the best doctor, it's also taking into account future hair loss (even your budget). I was lucky enough that the wife OK'd the budget for this. Not a chance a second time. Yes, the type of results plays a role here. More aggressive hairline, more grafts, more procedures. Simple as that. Keep that in mind. Considering i have black hair and light skiner skin tone, 2000 grafts nailed it. No doubt if my hair color was lighter, I would get a boost in density. Maybe smp down the road. I get wanting a thick hairline, especially when younger, but you will find that when you get older, your expectations chance and the expectations of others too. If all your friends have full hairlines and you don't, women take notice. Thus you want the same. As you get older, most men are receding, have hair loss. Women expect it. So just having hair is helps you win the game.

Dr. Rahal is one of the best in the business. Especially for hairlines. He's one of the few doctors performing hair transplant for 35+ years. Thousands and thousands of results. Only a handful of doctors can make that claim. I consulted with every doctor and they all praised Dr. Rahal. One said, "the hairline king." Sealed the deal for me. Plus his patients are the most demanding with "very high expectations." I was one of them. That's the great thing about the forums. Imagine 90% of your patients know more about the procedure than a lot of doctors who perform it. Trust me, your expectations are 1000% higher than a patient of say Bosley's. His patients demand 100% natural results, the best techniques, etc. Imagine having to perform at 1000% everyday for 35+ years. You have nothing to be concerned about. Anyone who claims he's not one of the best is lying or a competitor. Agree I would love to see more reviews, but I also get it. I researched the shit out of this, then disappeared for a year, only posting my result and part-time posting on the forums. If ever. Hair loss does not consume me like before. I'm enjoying life. Sounds like you particular about your hairline. Maybe speak to Dr. Rahal about what you want? Be specific clear and with example, lots of them. Then ask more questions. Focus on what you want to achieve. Not doubting ability. He's one of the best. If you can tell me more about what you want, I can suggest some other docs based on my research.

@killa You can ready my story and see pics below. One of my criteria when choosing a doctor was hairlines. neither dr. rahal or dr. hasson transplant low hairlines. Both are conservative and maximize coverage, yet both have very different styles. Both create some of the most natural looking hairlines in the business. Basically it boils down to micro irregularity. Dr. Rahal has a slight edge in my opinion. I'm obsessive and work with numbers by day so i'm able to look for patterns, etc. I'll break down the difference if i have time. But in the end, I noticed that Dr. rahal's hairlines minic nature more in terms of ethic background, features. Second for me was fue, and at that time Dr. Hasson was not really doing fue. So Dr. Rahal has an edge in results and experience. But again, Hasson backs up his work and stands behind patients so something to consider. I could go on and on lol Props to enigmatic936 for putting so much research into it.

i would avoid fut if you can. is it only because of cost? both are great doctors. both know for hairlines. though both have very different styles. what are you after? best advice i can give is to meet people in person with similar results you want and make a decision.

@enigmatic936 I had fue with rahal and very happy. instead of comparing h&w to rahal, compare "dr. rahal" to "dr hasson" to "dr wong." a lot people lump h&w together. they are very different docs. each doctor specializes in different things. though overall h& w and rahal are very consistent and ranked among the best in the world. if someone says diff, guaranteed they are shill. most likely spamming for a turkish doc. -wong is known for density, coverage, crowns. -hasson is known for hairlines -rahal is know for hairlines for hairlines, both rahal and wong have different styles. rahal has more experience in fue and results. but wong, hasson stand by their patients. so might not be a concern. what are you looking to achieve? tell me what type of hairline you like, maybe some photos and I can give some advice.

Hey guys. Here are my pics as promised. I tried to take the same angles in the sun vs not for a couple of reason. I wanted to show how natural the hairline is. Love the hairline the best and why I went with the hairline king in the first place. Dr. Rahal nailed it. It's the soft transition I love most. Not a wall of hair. If you need hairline work go to Dr. Rahal. Dr. Rahal nailed the density. I would say it peaked at around 13 months. Everything seemed to blend in and thicken. I'm light skin and dark hair and needed all of the grafts to grow to give the illusion of density. Dr. Rahal nailed it here too. I'll give more of my thoughts soon. Need to jet.

It's not as cut and dry and pick one. Each will specialize in one or two things: hairlines, crown, temples. Then to throw confusion in the mix you need to look at the procedure. They will specialize in one or two things: fue, strip. Then you need to drill down more: what punch do they use, machine. and why? lots to look at. the only sure thing is to avoid ARTAS and neograft at all cost. The pros will not touch either with the 10 foot pole. Basically means they are an amature.

FUE in US (Canada too) - Rahal Wong is picking up steam here. hope to see some great work in the future. Outside FUE - Lorenzo Strip - Rahal - Konior - Wong - Ron Shapiro Hairlines in US (Canada too) - Dr. Rahal (hairline king for sure) - Ron Shapiro Crown - Wong, Wong, Wong I had fue with rahal so a bit biassed too.

Though they ditched ARTAS (thankfully) and Wong is one of the best, so I expect this to change in time. Couple of other points. I don't feel it boils down to trust. It boils down to research and how much you're willing to out in. I don't just mean the forums. I mean hit the ground kind of research. Meet the team, doctor, technician, ask for numbers. Buzzzz away! I was worries about this too. But found a great study by doc bernstein. Basically the grafts are secure at 5 days. Search "Graft Anchoring in Hair Transplantation." I hated how everything looked at 4-5 months. Some growth. Some now. All uneven. Buzz fixed that. Give it a try. The ladies love it too. Don't tell my wife

That's interesting. Crazy actually. I might have missed. but how old are you? Meds are a must. Can you also share photos on the donor area 1-2 days after? Long time to go. 6 months is early. But looks good so far.

My FUE result with Rahal is top. I wouldn't consider anyone else. In North America that is. Since my disappearance and new role as a father, I'll say this. Keep in mind this is my observation. Before my FUE Rahal I researched every clinic here and a couple in Canada. When I narrowed it down to Rahal, I researched the shit out of it. Spoke to patients, on and off this forum. Asked the right questions. And my conclusion: Dr. Rahal does the best FUE in USA/CAN. I bet my head on it. I also notice the same guys saying the same crap. Like "consistent pattern of over harvesting donor areas" yet they list strip patients. Let's take, - sharkman (no photos to back it up, and strip). - sean, maybe expectation played a role. but did dr. rahal refund or pay for him to go somewhere else. Not sure which. But that's a class act. - BridgetJones... these are comments from forum members, BridgetJones, I really don't like to jump on an unsatisfied patient, but your write up and your photos don't synch up. Your hair looks just the way I would expect it to look after 1400 grafts from where you started. What???? Your hair looks nice and I think that your HT is far from being a failure. I also noticed that all of the patients are from years back. Not that it matters. When you use works like butcher, seems you have an agenda. I did my research. And you're all full of shit - in my humble opinion I'll share my results. Doctor Rahal is the man. The BEST at hairlines and why I look forward to styling my hair in the morning. For fue. only two others I would consider.

JohnCasper. Did you grab that from a textbook? lol If you're choosing a clinic based 100% on the doctor's reputation, you're setting yourself up for failure. Technicians play much more than an important role. They can make or break the procedure. They also perform 40-60% of the procedure. Be it implanting. Or cutting. Whatever. Doctors also play a role. he/she/they (whatever you are) comes up with the plan. Measures transection, gives meds, etc. but when looking at a clinic, ask about the entire team. Tons of clinics actually rent technicians. It's nothing to do with the size of the punch JohnCasper. If the transection rate is high with a .8 it's because a .8 should not be used and the doctor is shitty. Hair caliber, etc. states the "size" that should be used. It's skin that decides sharp vs dull. Come on man. You're a consultant??

Hell yes! And have them put it in writing! Just because someone is a "doctor" does not mean they are great at FUE. Far from it actually. Lots of other factors at play too. For example, in most of the US, doctor assistants can do the "entire procedure" from A-Z. Come on guys. You should know this. I researched not only the doctor but also the "team." Technicians are key to a successful HT. It's not just about holes. FUE is so much more. If your criteria is "doctor must do the holes" then you have not researched correctly. You guys sound like doctors worried about job security.

All looks good. Donor looks great FYI (from what I can see). All the grafts - as in my case too - shed over weeks. Then the area is a little red. Redness will linger until your hair starts to grow. Now stop looking in the mirror

Interesting debate. Actually not really a debate at all. Here's the only thing that matters: transection rate. That's it. Nothing else matters. Doctor vs. technician is silly. Experience is what counts. It might be a blow to some doctor's egos (well most actually). But it's true. Here's why. Let's say you have a surgeon who's transaction is 5%. And you have a tech with a transection rate of 4%. Both have 10 years experience. Who are you going to choose? It's common sense. Best advice is to ask the magic number and then ask for a guarantee.

Not helpful unless you share pics. I have some concerns about Dr. Diep, mainly punch size and over harvesting (from what I've seen). Happy to share examples. Maybe he can jump in?

Hey GPS3, you're in great hands. I'm 3.5 month post-op FUE with Rahal. I know it's early but i'm seeing excellent growth. For starters, the number of FUE grafts available in a first pass is relative to your donor area (size and grafts cm/2). Meaning, if you don't have the supply, it's not possible. The only other factor is punch size. Smaller means more grafts. Implying that Erdogan can get more grafts is a lie. If I'm not mistaken, Rahal performs 3500 FUE a day, depending on donor supply and uses the smallest punches available. Erdogan does ok FUE work. But his hairlines are no where near a good as Rahal's. Rahal's also cheaper if you're from the USA than Erdogan, as they charge in CAD dollars. Instant 30% off savings. If you're from Canada, then you have one of the best in your backyard. Guys also forget to mention that should you require a touch-up (and most of us do), you will need to cover the cost of hotel/flight to Turkey again. I doubt any of them would cover travel cost for a couple of hundred grafts. Bottom line, I know from experience. I've had the procedure and met many many Rahal FUE patients at the guest house. I'm still in touch with all and all have no complaints. Please don't point to one FUE result that didn't grow as well, Sean. For starters, it's one guy out of thousands. Consistency is key, and Dr. Rahal is just that with FUE. From my understanding Dr. Rahal is also paying for Sean to have his procedure at another clinic. How many clinics do you know who would do that? Anyway. Sorry to rant. But it's hard enough choosing a good doctor in this industry and when you do, you're head is filled with doubt from misinformation like above. You know how many spam emails I received when I announced I had FUE with Rahal? Here is just ONE example. Keep in mind that I already had my procedure. He (the moron) didn't even bother to check that fact.
