  1. I know Shapiro has a very good SMP set up as well. I always wondered if SMP is successful in hiding the FUE dots. With red hair that may be a challenge.
  2. Just don’t bring that razor line up so high on the back next time and I think it will be perfect.
  3. Nah. You’re gonna be 45, brother. You have great coverage. A little Dermmatch or Toppik and it’s smooth sailing. I’d kill for that coverage.
  4. I notice you comb your hair a little different when it’s wet so it can be a bit deceiving. Your part starts a lot higher on the wet pic and it comes to the same height as your whorl. In the dry you bring some of the thicker hairs that are lower down, up and over. Not a bad way to do it to give a better illusion of crown cover.
  5. Love the beard, brother! Dr. Paul says he takes oral minoxidil himself. I didn’t ask him the dosage. Said the most common side effect he sees is body hair. I guess that would give you more to harvest 😁
  6. Can’t wait to see your 6 month update. Keep us posted. I visited the clinic right before the virus shut everything down. When I finally pull the trigger, SMG will be my spot as well.
  7. Think it looks worlds better and very natural. Plus your donor looks super thick and you could always go back for another round to touch up the hairline.
  8. Could be the lighting or the length of hair, but there’s definitely a thin spot there on the left. Still looks good though.
  9. Results really starting to fill in. Will be interesting to see over the next 3 months how the hairline looks. Would like to see it styled like you want to style it. Much better than where you started.
  10. Looks real good. I’ve added minox foam to my regime and noticed some dry scalp. You use anything for that?
  11. Agree with this. Nicole at SMG does all of the SMP work in the same office.
  12. She does both FUE and FUT. Her pricing is typical of North American docs. Between $6-$7 per graft for FUE.
  13. @Shifty what kind of rogaine are you using? Name brand or generic?
  14. Well either way I’m jelly. You got your money’s worth to this point. Is that 2 surgeries or 3?
  15. You’re crown isn’t that bad. I’d be fine with that level of coverage. So you have no fibers on at all when you show your crown in the swimming video? Hair looks on point.
  16. Looks good man. I’ve tried Dermmatch on much thinner hair and it doesn’t take as well. Looks more like mascara on the scalp. I’m thinking hair fibers would look better but not hold up.
  17. You sure? I figured the increased Rogaine absorption due to the rolling was a big part of your success. What do you think the rolling is doing then?
  18. @Shifty it would be interesting to know what’s more effective considering you’re dermarolling is done to help with the topical absorption. I wonder if oral is essentially helping with absorption as well.
  19. Yes the doc has to prescribe. And no, same dose is all you’ll need.
  20. Lol! Dr Shapiro said the warnings are way overblown, but just be aware of your body’s reaction. If you notice heart palpitations or lightheadedness stop taking the med. Oral minox is a blood pressure medication given at a dose between 10-40 mgs. You only need 2.5 mg for hair loss and you start by cutting the pill in half. These guys have been some of the best in the world for a long time. I trust their information. Like I said, he takes it himself and says the efficacy is much better than topical. He indicated increased body hair is the most prevalent side effect. Hey, just more to harvest for a transplant
  21. I was just at Shapiro Medical Group this week and Dr. Paul says oral is much more effective. He takes the oral himself and says if you don’t have any heart issues then that’s the route to go.
  22. I did 3 PRP sessions myself over the summer. Didn’t notice a difference.
  23. Definitely. I’d guess your hairline will thicken up over the next 6 months. At least the area directly behind it.
