  1. Hi Jax, I think we been in touch before via email the past few years? I thought I chip in as I recently went back to Asmed. 1) Not sure about this. 2) I stayed for 4 days. I got bored on the 3rd day as you be on your own and the hotel is in a business district. So not much to do around im the area. 3) Yes, all the time you spend in Turkey. They will wash the hair everyday for you. It is nothing major or to be scared of doing it yourself. You only apply a small amount of pressure on the grafts. It doesn't dislodge them this way. I did my washing my self once I got back home. 4) That be the start of the swelling and it lasts for 10 days. Makes no difference staying more days or staying less days. The swelling will happen. The flight back home will make it worse 5) You pay for the accommodation with Asmed. No dealing with the hotel. Apart for the mini-bar fee. I had a normal single room and it was huge. If you pay using credit card it will cost you more I think? Best to find out 6) Do not use your bank to make the deposit. They will rip you off with the exchange rate. I used HiFX to send my deposit both times. And I brought all my euro's from travel premier.co.uk They give the closeted rate to the actual market rate. 7) Istanbul is very safe indeed. It is just the media creating hype. If that is a problem why chose Turkey in the first place? The people are friendly, the women are beautiful, the hospitally is great. The hotel is in the asian side. Most of the famous tourist spots are in the european side. I tried going over to the asian side but too much traffic. As you have to cross the Bosphorus bridge. You cross this both times if you land in Atturk airport. I was told by the hotel it cost me 100 lira by taxi to go the asian side due to heavy traffic. But i did go to some malls in the european side.
  2. Rashid, you have been touch with most surgeons by now. You have bedn given excellent advice and information from this forum. I think, the best option is for you now is to research which surgeon you want to go to. Look at similar cases compared to you're self. Can you upload your recent pics?
  3. From what I have seen. FUT patients usually buzz down to grade 4. I think in your case, for maximum graft numbers, the strip will be long and wide. H&W strip scars start from ear to ear.
  4. Rashid, I personally would go with Dr Wong for strip. No one can beat him when it comes crown restoration. If you work on your scalp laxity and keep up with your meds then there is a good chance for 4.5 grafts in one go. The other two are also good options but would you do it in 2 operations? Adding the cost of travelling, spending money and hotels? It is not cheap flying to Canada, USA or even India twice
  5. Shera, thank you for your warm words. It was great meeting you and we have to do it again if I am in Central England again my brother!
  6. The hair line will eat a lot grafts to frame. Behind it, if the grafts are spread out to give some coverage it be great. 2500 grafts in the first strip sounds good. The thing is, the second strip you can't really guess how many grafts will come. Most of the time it is less than the first strip but can be more. That is with good donors. So you are definitely going with Dr Alexander?
  7. Not trying to put you down Rashid. It is difficult working with such a compromised donor. And it is very easy to believe you will have thick flowing hair. Transplanted hairs will never be like native hair. I encourage you to carry on taking fin; it works well for donor hair. As I found out
  8. As far I understand your situation Rashid; you have had an consultation with Dr Alexandra who has recommended to use meds in order to strength your donor and to see if the meds will help growing any new hair. I also read Dr Alexandra said you can have transplant with 2500 grafts. 2500 grafts is not enough for your hairloss. Which is exactly what Dr Erdogan said and so have others. This is from reading your thread
  9. Oh Dr Koray Erdogan is skilled, very skilled indeed. He has created new techniques and methods. Notably the one-step extraction and recently long hair fue extraction and the long hair implanter pen (he is the first surgeon with this method). He has thousands of happy patients, ton of results posted online (showing every NW category) and happy patients posting their experience with him. Dr Erdogan does not offer body hair transplant which may be one of the reason he refused you. Everyone knows, NW5 and 6's have limited donor. Sounds like your exceptions from undertaking an hair transplant are not realistic. Your only option is using body hair like the way Harin has done (not worth it in my opinion). There is another forum member, Rashid35, who is also NW5/6. One of the best FUE surgeons in the world, Dr Lorenzo, refused him. Says a lot really.
  10. I been told! Thanks. Now just waiting for this second one to grow out!
  11. The importance of taking finasteride is a personal choice. Many are afraid of the side-effects. This was a risk I took and I am glad of taking it. I spoke to Dr Erdogan prior my first transplant about finasteride and was amazed to hear that Dr Erdogan himself takes finasteride for many years now. And the bloke for his age looks amazing. The benefits of finasteride have been very obvious to me. Before I would believe I had a weak donor but this might be I have never grown it! I used to have a haircut every 4 weeks. What I have noticed is that I have less hair loss; before I used to shed far too many hairs and now not so much. I have noticed my crown, mid-scalp, sides of the donor and the back of the donor are much darker, thicker and generally more healthily. The images below show how fin has greatly improved my situation. First five images before my first transplant in 2013 and last five before my second transplant in 2016. At this point I had been on fin for nearly 3 years
  12. Everyone knows that hair loss/baldness hits everyone differently. I was only 20 years old when my hair loss started and within a year it had stopped. This began in 2010. I was young and studying to be a youth worker. The main issues I had was social withdrawal. I had lost my temples, most of my hair line only leaving a small forelock. I used to travel to university and once lectures were over, not once I stayed behind to socialise. I would not say I was afraid of what people thought of me; I had plenty of that due to my hearing loss. I instead locked everybody out of my life including some of my close friends. I focused on my boxing (I used to box as an amateur before my gym closed down), work and life at home. I felt unattractive. All my friends used to say it does not matter. Easy to talk when you are NW1 or NW2. Without hair, my face aged...not physically but mentality. I still have boyish features despite being close to 28. These photos show my journey to happiness and better life quality. I would say nowadays I am a different person. The first 2 were taken at my graduation in September 2013. Please note this was the way I looked for nearly 3 and a half years. Next two were taken at Amsed in October 2013 right after my graduation. I had already been researching hair transplants 2 years before and had booked my days with Asmed about 5 months before my graduation. I was giving myself a graduation present! The last one was taken in July 2015. There has been a lot of debate of why a young person should wait many years before having a hair transplant. I do agree with this but I also believe if the hair loss is severe enough/ future hair loss can be predicted then one should go ahead. I am not saying a NW1/ NW2 should restore their baby hair lines. Any ethical doctor will not allow this. In my situation, my hair loss was stable and I had already lost half my head. Medicine with a hair transplant should always be considered.
  13. Once again, thank you. Not that Dr Erdogan needs the promo...I am merely helping people who are in the same situation I was.
  14. HTsoon, thank you for the kind words. I wish so to. We all know how hard it is and watching, waiting for it over. You are correct, it is very important to use the donor wisely. These factors do have a big influence on the final outcome. Didn't Dr Diep measure your donor?
  15. Thanks mate! I have measured my hair line from my temples and from the centre of the forehead to the eyebrows. It is 6cm. So it is low enough. Dr Erdogan actually advised me to keep the old hair line but I had issues with styling. It is just perfect. I am sure once it grows out, it will really suit my facial features. I know he gets flank but mostly from people who have not had surgery with him. He has all the high tech to measure the donor and I was amazed by my capacity. So far I have had 4892 grafts with 6000 remaining. I will ask the clinic to confirm the numbers. I don't think I need any more surgeries!
  16. I was back to normal by the 4th month. All of it had grown back. I had no temp or permanent shock loss. That is the advantage of manual fue, a skilled doctor who does excellent incisions. Take a look at my first thread to see the monthly photo updates.
  17. Coolio When I had my first transplant, I only had an weak frontal fore lock, weak mid-scalp and vertex and also my crown area on the right side (but I believe this a family trademark as all my brothers have it). From my first transplant all my native hairs had grown back up the 4th month mark. I had my first transplant nearly 3 years ago. My second transplant which was last month (5 weeks ago). All the native and transplanted hair from the first surgery are slowly growing back. I would say roughly about 40%. I think I should be back to my pre-op appearance by the 4th month. I have been on fin for nearly 3 years and I believe this was the reason why I have kept the native hairs
  18. Mosd, I do not wish to gate crash Doug's thread. This is an excellent result and we should focus on it. If you have any questions about my transplants, please fire them away on my thread
  19. It depends on how big the area is, the donor capacity. Some believe smaller sessions are less risky, some do not. Clearly Dr Vories doesn't! Love this result. Dr Vories is known for tackling large sessions over multiply days! It is amazing he does everything him self apart from loading the implanter pen. Rashid, if you want to see how tiring it is for Dr Vories doing everthing on his own, I suggest watching one of his youtube videos! Man has stamina
  20. Holy moly! This looks good, comparing where you started from! I do think the hair line was created and utilized quite well (etc the zig zagging to give fuller density). Once you sort out your crown, it be even better
  21. How did I miss this!? You must be thrilled. I just read your Fargo thread and your entire journey. Simply marvellous. Now, enjoy that hair buddy!
  22. Guys, this is my belief about native hair. An skilled doctor like Dr Hason will be able to transplant hairs safely between native hairs. Dr Hason also uses the lateral slit incision method. I believe this protects native hairs. I am 5 weeks post op from my second surgery with Dr Erdogan who also uses the lateral slit method. All my native hairs and my transplanted hairs have grown back at this point. This shows choosing doctors with ultra-refined methods, you are in safe hands. I may be wrong about the lateral slit protecting native hairs; do correct please
  23. HTN is not the only platform for surgeons to be recommended. The world is global. He is recommended and well-known in the Italian forums. I believe he is also recommended in other forums such as German and Spanish. People here tend to be biased towards surgeons who are not recommended on HTN. The internet is an huge tool; use it wisely in your research
  24. I saw this video last week on your facebook page. This is revolutionary! I have not seen or heard of a technique which allows extraction without shaving before. And I see Dr Erdogan has created his own implanter pen and blades. A truly inventive mind! Please tell him I said hello! Merhaba!
