  1. In my opinion it is not stopping Minoxidil...but the period of stress that you went through led to significant loss in a short period. In my case I freaked out of loosing my hair and lost a lot of hair with in a short span of 3 months.
  2. For me Toppik hair spray worked the best. It keeps my black hair look shiny and moist where as most other sprays make it look dry and not natural. Alcohol in most hair sprays makes hair dry and thus not recommended. I somewhat liked Garnier medium hold hair sprays as well in the past.
  3. I do not see a good hairline for the initial 2500 grafts. Are you happy with your first round results?
  4. Why is it such a bad idea to use performance enchaining drugs for the brain? I believe Adderall is heavily used by college students to help them with their tests etc. And I do not think Addreall is that bad it terms of side affects. Of course there is the problem of addiction. Is in't it logical for someone to experiment with the drug before ruling out its usage for brainfog? And to begin with we do not know whether it works for Finasteride brainfog.
  5. Raj, HT is for life. In my opinion people should be willing to spend about an year of their savings on a HT.(Just like you should buy an engagement ring costing 3 months of your pay). If you save about 2-3 lakhs by not choosing Dr. Path, the savings are not significant enough. I would say look at all NW5 -6 results of Radha and compare them with Path and decide whether you would be comfortable with Dr. Radha's results. As people have always said on this forum, if you could afford always go with the best doc possible.
  6. I would say go with Dr. Path if money, travel etc..are not a big issue. He has done so many more successful HT surgeries compared to your other two choices. And BTW, Dr. Radha learnt HT surgery skills from him. On the other hand, Dr. Radha would be considerably cheaper and you may not pay much for travel and hotel. She is great surgeon as well, but may not be as good as path. I could say I have seen only about a couple of WOW results from her. For more details see her recommendation page and find it for yourself. Avoid Dr. Madhu. He runs a hair mill and wants to make a quick buck. His results are always mediocre.
  7. Hey eternal, My experience with Finasteride may help you a bit. I presume you were taking the generic Fin made by Dr.Reddy's or Cipla, as you live in India. In my case with the generics my brainfog and tiredness are intolerable. However with the branded proscar cut in to pieces the side affects are a lot lower. I get proscar imported to India through an online canadian pharmacy. May be you could experiment with the branded one and see how your sides would be.
  8. I have been taking 1.25 mg of Proscar on alternate days for about an year and half now. I do experience mild to moderate sides, mainly brain fog. I feel sort of disconnected from the world. It is little bit affecting my performance at work too. I was wondering whether Adderall would help in getting rid of brain fog. It is a widely used ADHD medication and has been known to improve brain functioning by increasing neuron firings. Does anyone have any experience using Adderall for brainfog ?
  9. I think the doctor is a complete joke. Where is he hiding now? I guess he got tired of fooling people and just walked away.
  10. I have seen only very few of his patients posting their results on this forum, though the doctor himself posted results often. I would trust more the results posted by patients as they are honest and unbiased. IMHO, the lack of results posted by his patients should be taken in to account in evaluating his recommendation. Going further, I think the doctor should encourage his patients to post their HT progress here, and come back at a later time after enough results are posted.
  11. You can contact Dr. Tejiner Bhatti in Chandigarh or Dr. A. Poooswal in Delhi. ****** claims to have done a lot of repair cases. Body hair transplant may be an option if you have coarse body hair. Alternatively, you can try shaving your head if the scar is not going to be a big problem.
  12. Seriously.....? 10,500 FUs from your limited donor area. The doctor ripped you off. He did this to you just for money? He might as well start killing people for money. Hire a lawyer and sue the guy. What he has done to you is not acceptable by any medical standards.
  13. Take a look at this doctors website..and you would figure out for yourself how shoddy his work is. Who ever this guy Madhu Vanga is...but clearly going way out of his way to defend the doctor. He does not seem genuine at all..and clearly a person working for the doc. There is a common problem with HT in India, docs would promise so much and deliver very little. They outright lie through their teeth. So please do your research and do not trust doctors words at all. They usually have low morals and just want to make a quick buck.
  14. In my opinion if you are NW 5 or above....drugs are a must for having a decent coverage along with a HT. For lower Norwood levels I believe acceptable density can be achieved even without the drugs, as the donor is sufficient enough.
  15. Did he start using meds soon after the transplant? I think all the recommended surgeons, posting their results, must provide this information for accurate assessment of the contribution by HT alone. The patient may discontinue the medication after some time due to sides and the HT may not look good at all. So what looks good now may not look good at all few years down the line. People looking at these good results and making their decision to go ahead with a HT deserve to know whether these results are permanent.
  16. From what I have read, Avodart causes more brain fog than Fin. Apparently the reason is Avdoart blocks 5-alpha reductase I which is mainly found in the brain and is probably is responsible for neuro steroid production. Fin only inhibits 5-alpha reductase II and does not cause as much brain fog.
  17. @ lovehair1234 Which Finasteride were you taking? Is it generic or Merk's Propecia or Proscar? In my case strangely, I get very severe brain fog if I take generic made by Dr. Reddys Finax or Cipla's Finpecia. But my brain fog is much less with Merck's Propecia. I first started with generic Fin about 4 years ago and could not tolerate it all. I thought I am one of the few unlucky ones and did not really take it for another 3 years. But about an year ago, I tried Merck Propecia and the brainfog was tolerable. I lost about 3 yrs of precious time by not trying Merck's propecia. I would suggest you to try Propecia, if you were taking the generic.
  18. yeah..my hair did get thicker and new hairs grew as well. In my case by about 3 months I could see a lot of tiny hairs popping up. By 6 months it got better. I cannot really say my hair improved after 6 months. I did not take any doctor's advice for the dosage. After about 6 months I was not tolerating 1 mg every day, because of side affects. So I started taking 1 mg or 1.25 mg on every other day.
  19. In my case I believe it is temporary too. I get brain fog every day especially in the afternoon after lunch and stays on until 7-8pm. I have been taking 1.25mg on alternate days. If I stop taking it for 3-4 days my symptoms get a lot better. I have been on Fin for about an year.
  20. My opinion... go with Dr. Radha. Her work is clean and no major complaints so far. I am not sure how Dr. Madhu's hair transplant factory is running now a days. Have not seen any results posted by his patients lately. There have been few complaints and also bad work by Madhu. I have no opinion on Dr. Ramachandran. I do not recall seeing any results at all posted by his patients here. So I do not think it is wise to choose him.
  21. I buy my Merck brand Proscar and sometimes Propecia from Canadadrugs.com and get them shipped to India. They do not charge any extra for international shipping by Canada post, however there is no tracking option in this shipping method. The prices are same as in the US. They do need prescription. I am not sure whether they would consider your Bosnian doc's prescription. Alternatively, you could buy from any other online store approved by Pharmacychecker.com. If you think the Merck brand is expensive you could go for Dr. Reddys or Cipla brand generic Finasteride. Both are legitimate pharmaceuticals. Hope this information is useful. Let me know if you have anymore questions.
  22. A lot people thin on the sides and back as well, besides the top and crown due to retrograde alopecia. For some reason the thinning became more prominent after my FUT. I do not think many patients are aware of this before committing to FUT. I am not sure how bad it will get over time due to further thinning. In my case I cannot say propeica is thickening my sides, though it has regrown some of the hair on my top. I wonder why it would not thicken the sides provided the thinning is caused by DHT and Propecia suppresses it.
  23. I buy my branded Proscar from canadadrugs.com and get them shipped to India, as I cannot get the branded Proscar in India. I believe you could buy it from other online pharmacies approved by pharmacychecker.com as well. You would have to consider whether Australia would impose any customs duty on the medicines being imported.
  24. I do not believe the Merck's assessment of side affects. The study completely ignored the mental side affects of Finasteride. Also the percentage of people with sexual and mental side affects is too low to be true. How much can you trust Merck which had huge financial interests in the drug, to be honest in reporting the side affects? I am a Fin user and I get significant mental side affects, mainly the brain fog. Please do not dismiss me by saying it is all in my head. I have tested my self stringent enough to make sure that the side affects are due to Fin. On the other hand I do agree that Dr. Irwig's study had limited number of patients and most likely the patients belong to the pool of people with side affects. So the percentages will be skewed and not accurate.
  25. Hey BaldEagle1982, Could you please update your experience with buying Merck branded Propecia online through Canadian drugs website? Have you bought them and are they working well? I am trying to do the same as the websites claim to be shipping Merck branded Propecia world wide. It is becoming hard for me to buy them in the US and get them shipped to me in India. Thank you.
