  1. Hey guys, Sorry I haven't posted pics lately. My 4 month mark is coming up Dec 5 and I plan on posting pics very soon...just as soon as I can get someone to take the pics for me. I have seen a good amount of growth. My temples look great. The hairline is sprouting new hairs every day. It's getting very very exciting. Again, I will have some pics soon. Oh yeah...How bout them PACKERS!!??!
  2. I noticed this as well, Smoothy. I had forgotten about it, but you're right...this is a big mistake by the doctor. What could make the doc want to do this??
  3. It was either 1800 or 1900 grafts he received. I was impressed with how Dateline handled the whole show. I was watching with my parents and I caught myself yelling out "I did that!" or "I remember going through this when I had my transplant!". The whole fish herbal vitamin crap was a scam for that one guy if you ask me. And the propecia did good for 6 months, they just didn't give it time to kick in. Did anyone else hear them say that 6 months from tonight they're going to do a follow up show to see how the same people are progressing? I can't wait. I am going to make a note so I won't have any plans that night! lol
  4. HairBeThere, Looking great, buddy! I hope the hair you have remaining from the procedure sticks around and continues to grow. You seem to be healing very nicely, and very quickly. Good luck!
  5. With my experience, Dr. Cooley placed the hair in the most crucial place which is the actual hairline itself. The hairline and temples must be placed just right or it won't look right. His assistant filled in the places behind.
  6. I had 1200 on the hairline and temple area and I never experienced any swelling whatsoever.
  7. Congratulations, cpa885. I've heard many great things about Dr Charles. Mind telling us how many grafts you got?
  8. Very nice, Bill. Dr. Cooley performed your surgery, correct? If your scar looks this good now, imagine a few months down the road!
  9. Interesting. I thought the only person that could smoke 8 cigarettes at one time was my dad. Lol
  10. Ron, Congratulations! The pics are great and I believe you are going to have a wonderful head of hair in a few months. And,like Gillenator, I have never heard any complaints from his patients. Keep us updated and Good luck!!!!!!!!!
  11. Whit, I had a HT with Dr Cooley on Aug 5 of this year. I am a little over 3 months with a little bit of growth already. I had a consultation scheduled with Dr Baxa at first, and he even sent me a DVD. He seemed like he'd be a good doctor. Then I found Dr Cooley. You're right, he is an artist. I'm glad you had a great experience as well. Hopefully you'll be able to post us some pics. I need to post some update pics within a day or two. It may seem like I praise Dr Cooley alot, and I apologize if it gets old, but I really wish you guys could take a trip to Charlotte and see his clinic first hand. Just to go there and talk to him, Ailene, and his staff is remarkable alone, but you can even watch a HT...LIVE! I was able to at my consultation. Good luck, Whit and keep us updated!
  12. Low, Welcome to the forum. The first thing I would do is get to a dermatologist. He/she will evaluate your problem and determine if it is MPB. You may need to get on Propecia and/or Rogaine. Are you on any medications that could be causing this?
  13. I agree. Look at Melanie Griffith. She used to be a beautiful woman. Now, she looks fake and older than what she is because of all the plastic surgerys she's had. Joan Rivers is another example. She even made a special appearance on the show Nip/Tuck playing herself. Another big example is Michael Jackson. This was...brace yourself...at one time a great looking guy. I guess he felt the same about his nose as we do about our hair. Now...when we think of Michael Jackson, our thoughts immediately focus on his nose; however, before the surgery(s), we wouldn't think twice about it. I do not at all regret my HT...I'm so thankful I had it done and I'm so thankful for this network and for finding an excellent doctor. I agree with you guys that we shouldn't base our lives around our obsession with our hair. I am going to make a New Years Resolution. Alot of my hair will be grown in by then, but I will still feel weird because I ALWAYS wear a hat. I am going to go to school every day and not wear a hat more than once a week. That'll be a big step for me. Maybe everyone hear can make a New Years Resolution that'll help you get through this. Thanks guys, Brando
  14. Wow! It's a miracle!!!! There are 2 pubic hairs growing on that guys head! I got to know...how do I get some of this stuff? Tell me now, please!!!!!!!!
  15. Luke1...I can answer a few of your questions. The cap will be ok to wear normally after 20 days. I wore mine all day normally after 2 1/2 weeks. The tanning, however, is different. My doctor advised me to cover my head when tanning until the 5 month mark. He said the rays can "kill" the grafts. We own a tanning bed and I'm almost 3 months post op so if I feel the need to lay in the tanning bed, I wear a shower cap to cover my head.
  16. Hey Gillenator, I live about about 20 minutes from the prison Martha's at in Alderson...maybe I can bail her out for the evening??!
  17. Very good story Social. I love hearing things like that because it makes me feel better about myself and it makes me want to go out without my baseball cap on. Good luck on your paper, by the way. I've got a Sociology paper due next week, maybe I could come down to Columbia's coffee house and clear my head as well!
  18. Anthony, I would advise you to take Propecia on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Dr. Cooley told me to do that because it's just as effective and is cheaper. As far as the shen min, it's crap. I posted a topic a couple months ago called Scams on the Market and Shen Min was one. I used it for a long while with absolutely no results. It's a bunch of crap and would be NO substitue to Propecia.
  19. Hey Robert, you can't forget to list yourself! Your pics will be the most helpful for anyone wanting to schedule a HT with Dr. Cooley. I believe your story/pics should be on his main website.
  20. HairBeThere and Robert, I will indeed have some 3 month pics. Not alot of change as of yet.
  21. He even pokes fun at it in Shallow Hal when he wears the Toppik like stuff on his head.
  22. I haven't noticed any big time growth and I'll be 3 months post op on November 5. I know I know...I'm just getting bored with the waiting game and am going through the questioning stage, "Is everything alright?"..."Will I see growth?" Btw...Robert, those 4 month pics really show an improvement. Congratulations!
  23. NA, Just go to yahoo and type in Futzyhead. His website is usually the first listed.
  24. I believe the question, "What is the difference between FUE and strip surgery?" should be put in the FAQ section.
