  1. First off..if you want to have hair transplanted to your groin area...Why bother? It's just less you have to trim in my opinion If you're talking about having the pubic hair taken from your groin and putting in on your head...dude! That's crazy. That would give a whole new meaning to the word D*ckhead!
  2. Welcome to the site Curly. I've never heard of that place either, but I'm sure if you keep searching and talking to ppl on the forums...you'll find someone who's had an experience with them.
  3. HBT: The stitches are out! Man the back of my head feels so much better! I can't believe how much of a difference that made! It stung a little getting them removed, but it was well worth it. I hope to get a haircut tomorrow or Saturday, and I will take some pics and post them this weekend. You said it's the first and biggest step back to normality...THANK GOD!
  4. Thanks for the feedback Pat. Wow...a class 6 looking like James Dean or Elvis. Hopefully THAT is 10 years away. I know Dr. Cooley was at the meeting, did he speak? HairBeThere: Excellent link, man!
  5. Hey guys, I'm getting ready to get the stitches out today. I believe I'll postpone the pics until either tomorrow or Saturday. That's when I plan on getting a haircut so that'll be best anyway. I'm hoping the scar won't be that visible with a #3 guard on the back. Today is 2 weeks and Dr. Cooley emailed me and wanted me to call him on his cell phone (How many docs do that?) and he asked how I was doing. I believe Robert said the same, but he told me to get Aquaglycolic Shampoo for the flaky skin I've been seeing in my hair. So far I'm totally...TOTALLY pleased with my decision with Dr. Cooley and I will definitely post a couple pics soon...although theres not really a whole lot of change.
  6. My question got deleted so I'll ask again. You mentioned the MUG, which is awesome, but besides that was there any talk about any future techniques such as hair multiplication, a substitute to Propecia, etc..? Was Dr. Gho or Bazaan's name mentioned at the convention? Was there any talk of Bazaan's so called September release of hair multiplication?
  7. Sorry man. I've been a little tied up with college starting back. I should be able to post a couple update pics tomorrow when I get the stitches out (2 weeks). And I can't wait to get those suckers out...they're jabbing me when I sleep!
  8. I take it every other day as advised by my doctor, so I would suppose it wouldn't hurt if you've missed a dose a month. My doctor told me that Propecia stays in your system long enough so that you can take it every other day and it still has the same affect as if you were taking it every day, you just save money. But I'm not a doctor..and I'm only supposing it's ok in your case since I started out taking it every other day, while you started out taking it every day.
  9. Your doctor didn't advise you to get on propecia before your transplant?
  10. Hey guys, It's been a week now and I don't have any scabs left. The redness is pretty much completely gone. I only have about 50% of the transplanted hair left now. Is it normal to lose it that quickly?
  11. I'm not that familiar with MSM. Do you have to continue it or can you stop once you see growth?
  12. Thanks BaldingHateIt, I'm so far VERY pleased with my HT. I know it's way too early to say that, but No Swelling, Hardly NO redness, and No pain...it's awesome. My doctor is Dr Cooley in Charlotte, NC. He's absolutely wonderful. Hairworthy: I will look into buying some of the MSM you are talking about...anything to speed it up! Lorenzo: Thanks for the compliment! I'm hoping HM will be here soon so I will try to wait it out on another HT...but if I begin to thin...Dr Cooley offers FUE as well...I'll probably look into that. This pic is 4 days post op.
  13. Hairworthy, Yes...it is the same Jerry Cooley that performed mine and Robert's procedure. He is big into researching hair cloning and if you visit his site, it talks a bit about his research in hair cloning. He told me hair cloning should be available in 10 years. He also told me he doesn't believe Bazan will have it available in September.
  14. HBT, the bottle dr cooley gave me says Rogaine Extra Strength 5% Minoxidil Topical Solution. Its a one month supply 60 mL bottle.
  15. No but I will pour it in a squirt bottle if that's what it takes.
  16. Ok, I have a 1 mL dropper... I pulled my hair back away from the grafts and put half on one side and half on the other...i just let it soak there. Am I doing this right or should i pat it in?
  17. Hey guys, I'm at 3 days post op right now, absolutely no swelling, and just a slight tight feeling in the donor area w/ a little itching. My doctor told me I should apply rogaine on the recipient area 3 days after surgery (today) for a month to get the grafts to grow in quicker. Any comments on this? I don't want to use Rogaine forever and he is ok with that, he said to just use the one bottle he gave me on the graphs and i can discontinue it.
  18. I would like to personally thank Social(Forum Moderator) for doing such a wonderful job. Pat put a huge responsibility on his shoulders, and he is handling it well. He always seems to reply to everyone in need and if there's something he doesn't know or isn't educated about, he wastes no time finding out or at least trying to find out the answer. I believe Pat made a wonderful choice.
  19. You should be able to lay in a tanning bed with a towel wrapped around your head protecting your grafts from the light exposure. i would also call your doc, as baldcasanova stated, and ask if it would be alright to use the tanning liquid in the bottle that you don't need light exposure to tan with. Just don't get too close to the hair.
  20. So they refunded your money and he is trying to help you find a qualified surgeon closer to home for your convenience? Wow! Shapiro Medical seems top notch.
  21. I'll tell you what I plan doing. I'm a little pale the way it is so I'm going to buy the self tanner spray and use it as "artificial sun" until the 4 month period is up. I can spray it on my hands and rub it on my face and forhead, an inch or two below my hairline, so I won't look like a ghost. Hey, It's worth a shot!?!
  22. How far along post op are you? My doctor told me I can lay in the tanning bed after the first week, only with my head covered. After one month, he said I can lay normally, just avoid getting a sunburn on your scalp for a MINIMUM of 4 months. How many grafts did you get, just out of curiousity?
  23. Thanks so much HBT. I feel really good. I am pleasantly suprised at the way I feel. The only thing that is a little annoying is the slight tight feeling in the donor area. I'm scared to touch the grafts at all because I want to keep all those babies! And when I bathe I'm extra careful when I pour the water to not let it directly stream on the recipient area.
  24. I've been on Propecia since the end of May and have experienced no side effects so far and I really hope and pray it stays that way. Hopefully scientists will come up with a replacement for Propecia very soon.
