  1. If you go to any number of docs on this site, guaranteed, 100%, NOBODY will ever know you had a ht unless you tell them. Of course friends and family might suspect something is up with your new full head of hair but there is no way a stranger can tell you had a ht
  2. Hey man, part of my scar was like hat for a while as well. It definitely healed but it did take some time. You'll most likely be fine
  3. Thanx chrisdav, hope your well man. Hariri, I have been on propecia for 6 years but have drastically cut back my dosage and increased my use of rogaine foam. So far everything seems fine. As far as family history, both grandfathers passed with full heads of hair, both uncles have full heads of hair, but my dad has lost his front 1/3. Other than that his crown is fully intact. I'm hoping to one day get entirely off of propecia. If I have to I won't have any qualms going back to feller or any number of doctors on this site for touch ups.
  4. Hahaha, I've wondered this myself. At least I know I'm not the only one thinking about stupid s...
  5. Bad beat, Blake, Arthur, zenigomu, agent eye, thank for the kind words gentlemen. Spex, I'm planning on going back to feller around early spring when it will be about a year. Cheers!
  6. I wore a cap immediately after surgery but was very aware to not have anything touch grafts. About five days out they should be anchored in pretty good
  7. Hey all, here goes my love letter to dr feller. This is my approximate 8 month update and I can say unequivocally that going to dr feller was one of the best decisions I have made in my life. My hair loss was not particularly bad but I was visibly receding and I hated my daily, hour long ritual of combing my hair a certain way along with a pound of toppik to boot. I was obsessed with my hair and it was truly unhealthy. I wore hats whenever I could, I feared wind and rain, and I got really depressed about 6 months before my surgery as my baldness increased and I felt hopeless. I had contemplated a hair transplant but really never thought I would actually go through with it. I was so nervous that something would go so wrong, that I would end up having a dolls head of hair. It came down to going down this road I didn't like and come to terms with my receding hair and accept it. Or pull the trigger and do this. Truly happy I chose the latter. I researched for almost a year and had no qualms going to dr feller. I originally wanted fue but after speaking with dr f. I was advised that to get the desired hairline I would need 2 fue sessions. A year apart. Wanting to get this done in one swoop, I opted for fut. I also liked the thought of getting a higher yield for less money. But I hated the idea of having a scar, but came to terms with it after talking with dr f. and consulting with members on this board. I can say without any doubt that the scar has been a total non issue. I really have to look hard to find it and there's no way anyone can see it. I do have long hair so it masks the scar well, but I haven't thought about my scar at all. Also, all the work dr feller did looks completely, 100% natural. My parents and a few select friends all have dug thru my dome trying to look for anything that does not look right, and none of them could notice anything. It really has been an amazing journey the past couple of months. I have moved on from worrying about my hair and it really is like a huge weight that has been lifted. My confidence is high, I feel at ease in any sort of weather or social situation. I have gotten complements from a bunch of people who hadn't seen me in a few months, and even had a woman say to me that I have such great hair, LOL!!! I also love the freedom of not having to apply a ton of toppik and waste an hour of my life everyday dealing with my hair. I want to thank everyone on this community. It really has been a godsend for me and if I hadn't found this board I fear I could have ended up going to somewhere like bosley. The photos I posted are pre op, post op, and 8 months. Lastly, a big shout out to spex. For all you newbies, listen to the man. He will not steer you wrong and he really is one of the most knowledgable people out there. He has gone above and beyond for me. And of course, to dr feller and his staff.
  8. There really are only a handful of great surgeons imo and yes, all of them practice outside of SoCal. Cant say for sure why a place like LA does not have an "elite" ht doc. As for more crazy conspiracy theories, This may sound stupid, but maybe many movie stars or high profile individuals might choose to not want to get a ht in LA due to the ever present paparazzi. Maybe it's easier to go to Vancouver, Ottawa, or great neck ny if you are a high profile individual?
  9. I've been on propecia for 6 years now, however I have cut back to taking it 3 days a week and use rogaine daily now. I have experienced no sides at all however it's real and some may get side effects. My advice is to start with a very low dosage and see how you respond. Rogaine has given me zero sides as well. It's tough to say whether or not you'll respond well to either of these 2 treatments. Most likely it will help keep your crown intact maybe even grow somme hair back, but hairline it probably won't do much for. Basically use the medication for the back 2/3rds of your head and get a ht for front 1/3. But do consult with dr feller or any one of the docs I mentioned, you cannot go wrong with any of them.
  10. All that stuff can certainly lead to hair breakage but mpb is most likely genetic. I went to dr feller in NYC who did a great job for me. There are plenty of other docs on the east coast who are great as well, dr Lindsey, true and dorin, Bernstein, etc...have you tried propecia? Rogaine?
  11. Gotta agree with jotronic, his look works. Don't mess with it
  12. My hair looks somewhat thin when wet or greasy, but when it's dry it looks a million times thicker. I think judging your ht with wet hair or greasy hair is probably not the best way to determine whether or not your ht was a success or not. Do you have before/after pics with wet/greasy hair and dry hair?
  13. Congrats man, I'm at month 8 and feel exactly the same as you, spex and dr feller rule!
  14. Hey man, your experience mimics mine with dr feller. And yes, you lucked out by having your ht last week as NYC today is a mess! Your head will probably be numb for a little while longer. Once staples come out the discomfort pretty much goes straight away. You will still be numb in certain areas of your head but I wouldn't categorize it as painful or even discomfort. Just an odd feeling really. Your recipient area could be red for a couple months. I think it really depends on your skin tone, the lighter you are the redness will be around for longer. I was red for probably 2 months after surgery. I hope this helps and I hope you're recovering well. Good luck
  15. They could last a little while longer. I think mine were all gone by 3 months or so but it could last longer. I popped a couple, didn't effect my results negatively but I think some may say to leave them alone. I hope this helps.
  16. Not quite sure about the haircut, but I was wearing a Beenie about 7 days post ht, all was fine. If your really worried, you can put a bandana on and put Beenie on over bandana
  17. See what a well respected doc has to say. As it stands, your hairloss right now is not bad, it seems a smaller fut or fue would thicken up the front. My loss was not too bad, I had a small procedure of 1300 grafts and it has made all the difference. Have you tried rogaine? What's the mpb history like in your family? Good luck in your journey
  18. I was using aloe Vera but found it to be too messy and the redness didn't go away all that quickly anyways. I think time is really the only way to reduce redness. If its concealment your worried about than I recommend toppik or dermatch
  19. Hey, I understand your traveling but you have 2 of the top clinics in the world in rahal and hasson and Wong in Canada. You can't go wrong with either.
  20. Hey man, if you want to restore hairline only, I guess somewhere in the ballpark of 2500-3000 grafts. Of course I'm no expert and some may say 3000-4000. As far as hiding, it really is different for everybody. Some doctors shave recipient area and recipient area can stay red for awhile. Your skin tone however looks like it wont sty red for too long but you never know. Personally it was impossible for me to look normal for 3 months after my ht. however, there are many guys who are able to look normal and hide a ht not too far afterward. Have you consulted with some reputable doctors yet? If so, what have they said? Good luck with everything.
  21. I think he will shave the area as he told me that he can't get a good "dense pack" without shaving. His words not mine. I initially inquired about this lunchtime fue as well and he quickly shot it down saying that it really is for very minor loss and it's better to take care of everything at once rather than multiple fue sessions. But you should definitely talk to spex or consult with dr feller as they may tell you something different.
  22. Don't be nervous at all ( easier said than done) I had 1300 itn dr feller back in march. Your in the best of hands. Good luck!
