  1. keep going! i started minoxidil 10 weeks ago and started shedding 10-14 days in and finally started to turn the corner with growth and shed stability after i completed 9 weeks of treatment in the book. keep going and give it at least 6 months. be disciplined and diligent with your treatment TWICE a day and i believe you will see improvement. this stuff works, just gotta stick to the plan and not be like most people that whine about minox not working because they freaked out over the initial shed, quit and then say minox is "hair poison" even though they never gave the medication a proper chance/time to work. your hair will get worse before it gets better but that is part of the treatment. good luck, stay the course.
  2. Should be very educational, new surgeon with the clinic and all- good luck and keep us posted.
  3. hang in there, its a process and we all want instant results but you chose an incredible surgeon and I'm sure it will turn out great. just gotta give it time!
  4. Isn't it pretty simple- if you aren't on any hair-loss prevention medications and you are a hair-loss sufferer, you are just losing more hair.
  5. Oh my lord, I hope that no one listened to iiieee. I just happened to stumble upon this kooky diatribe of nonsense and couldn't help but react since someone "might" actually think this guy knows what he's talking about- he doesn't. Im not going to get into detail but it starts and end with "propecia is meant to be taken only alone" and without minox, and that's why the op was, hypothetically, experiencing problems. The common school of scientific thought is that minox and propecia work synergistically, which means together. There are many online quacks, "iiieee" is one of them.
  6. Man, that is a nice scar (as far as head slices go :>). I think you are going to be really happy with this result. I actually met Dr. Konior this month and he is undoubtedly a passionate, intelligent, no-nonsense, and dedicated surgeon. He spent over an hour speaking with me (after a complicated procedure, Tom informed me) about alllll kinds of topics, not only hair and I never for one second felt that he was trying to get me out of the room so he could finish up his day. A fascinating human being and his results speak for themselves.
  7. bdp31770- There is really no "before and after" of my hair because i started it immediately when i realized that i was a hair-loss sufferer so i've maintained and have had some gradual erosion through time but that's what happens because hair loss is continuous. But I think you should load the 2nd bullet against hair-loss and shoot. Also, there is a strong school of thought that minoxidil and finasteride work synergistically so you may get better results being a minoxidil responder. Speaking about using second bullets, i'm thinking about starting 5% minoxidil foam- do you remember if you experienced an initial shedding period when starting minox? best, LA

  9. Propecia 1mg is the only other medication that has science behind it to fight hairloss. Ive been a high responder to it and have been on it for close to 13 years without any sides. There are a lot of stories about sides, some bs and some legit, so it will be your choice wether you partake this regiment, but I'm here to say it does work and if you decide to do it, you need to be diligent and make a vow to stay on it at least 6 to 8 months to see if it is working or not. Give it an honest shot if you decide to do it, otherwise, don't start. Best luck.
  10. Popa- you stated prior that you are not on propecia. If you still are not on it, I would strongly encourage you to start a 1mg finasteride regiment. It can have dramatic results for hairloss. Good luck.
  11. Your new photos look much thicker, even though, to be honest the quality of photos aren't great for documentation. Do you agree that density seems to be better? usually we know our own body/hair better than anyone, better than someone's opinion looking at your pics on a computer. If you do feel like it is getting thicker, than I would relax and track it the next few months. Actually, this seems to be progressing closely to the time frame Blake mentioned. The "bald" area now looks to be made by the part you made in your hair. It isn't back to baseline density, but in my opinion, it looks to be progressing.
  12. Yep you're right Mickey, that scalp is reeeeeally dark, didn't even notice that. i was too concerned with the "smudging" of the hairline in pics 6 and 7. Doc, these pics need to be examined..
  13. looks good and you've got a lot of time still for additional improvement.
