  1. It also depends on the technique used? FUT or FUE?
  2. Hmmm... I thought Dr. F usually uses sutures AND staples. He told me that the staples divide the pressure on the wound more evenly, so that a better (thinner) scar is produced. But that was over a year ago, so maybe it's different now. I had them for 14 days too.
  3. Hey, thanks for the compliment! Yes the picture is of my hair about 7 months after the HT. Now it's 13 months and my hairline has become a lot thicker and better than when the picture was taken. I'm really satisfied with the result! (Dr. Feriduni). Unfortunately I have no pictures from before my surgery, because I would always avoid camera's and comb my hair forward to camouflage my receding hairline. I could try asking the doctor for some pre surgery pictures though. I recently underwent FUE in the FUT scar so hopefully that will fill the scar up nicely so I'll be able to wear my hair very short in the back.

  4. What if... Well, I still have a full head of hair (after my frontline was restored with a hair transplant). I'm definitely a whole lot happier since my frontline was restored. More confident, less worried, better self esteem and so on. I still worry about further hair loss though. If I wouldn't suffer from hair loss, it would save me some time every day (not having to apply minoxidil and take pills and not staring in the mirror at my hair so much ) and I would be less afraid of "growing old" (and bald). That's how it affects my life: hair loss fear! It's like I would do almost anything to keep my hair. I try to not think about it too much though. I just hope the meds keep working.
  5. Hey Hariri, will Dr. Feriduni close your revised scar with staples, on top of the sutures? Was that also done by the other doctors who did FUT on you?
  6. Wow! The new grafts grew so long so fast, and the crown looks full with only 1000 grafts. Amazing result! This guy must be happy.
  7. And me! MSM makes your hair grow faster, so the part that's shaven for my fue will grow faster so I can get a decent haircut sooner. So you can start taking it right away, paris_caine. I don't know anything about viviscal.
  8. So you're going to take finasteride without being sure you've got MPB?
  9. Hey Sean. Which liquid did you use before, the one from Rogaine? I've been using the liquid ppg free 5% minoxidil from the brand Minoxidilmax and their directions specifically state that you should not rub the liquid in. Just dropping it on the scalp and letting it absorb/dry is enough. I like it because it's not greasy and it's ppg free (ppg gives me dandruff!). I drop tiny drops all over the top of my scalp and crown and it dries fast. It's best to apply it at least 30 minutes before going to sleep though., to make sure it's in your skin and not on your pillow.
  10. So, did Rooney really pay 30000 GPB for his transplant? It seems a bit outrageous.
  11. Hey Sean, thanks for the how-to-guide! But I think it's easier to just use a dropper and drop some liquid minoxidil in between the hairs directly on the scalp.
  12. First get an expert opinion to be sure that you're actually losing your hair. It would be a shame if you would take finasteride for no reason.
  13. Good luck! Those six months will fly by. I'm sure you'll be able to at least take your daily finasteride.
  14. Dr. Wong isn't practicing FUE yet? He's got some catching up to do then, it seems.
  15. But when it does happen, it feels like winning the jackpot!
  16. Hello Doctor. It was a full procedure and yes I tried the botox thing. The scar still stretched. Not to enormous proportions, but still wide enough to get FUE in the scar. Now I'm hoping the grafts in the scar tissue will grow well. Fingers crossed! Maybe without the botox it would have stretched more, I don't know... I don't regret trying it (though it wasn't free).
  17. Or better, book a consultation with Dr. Feriduni and he can show you endless examples of his patients with brilliant results on his computer screen in his office. He really takes his time to do this for his potential patients. He's such a kind and informative man. (And he creates really beautiful and natural looking hairlines!) Ok, maybe my opinion is biased and worthless too, because I'm a patient of this doctor.
  18. Thank you for your view on this matter, Future_HT_Doc! The reason I asked, is because after my FUT, my doctor gave this option to me and said that he had seen promising results from other patients of his. So I let him try it on me. It wasn't cheap (a whole ampul of botox!) but in the end my scar still stretched... So I'm curious if anyone else has a positive experience with botox and FUT scars.
  19. Has anyone tried having botox injected in and around the FUT scar right after the stitches/sutures were removed, to prevent stretching of the scar? Is there any proof or indication that this works?
  20. Also, for a small transplant FUE is much more comfortable, with a much shorter healing time for the donor area. I mean, the discomfort of having a row of stitches (FUT) in the back of your head for 2 weeks can not be overstated!
  21. With the Rogaine foam, if you still have a lot of hair... How do you apply it to the scalp without most of the foam sticking in your hair? I've tried 3 cans of the foam, but I couldn't get around this problem. Now I just apply regular (liquid) minoxidil and I don't even rub it in.
  22. If you're really (really) lucky, then most of the transplanted hairs will remain and start growing right away. It's a small chance though, usually they all fall out and start growing again after 3 months or so...
  23. I don't think Rooney's hair looks bad on those pics! British tabloids...
  24. The best thing you can do now, is relax about your hair and don't draw any conclusions for at least the next 6 months. Just let it grow quietly and see what happens. I'm sure you're going to enjoy your new hair!
