  1. Wasn't sure which sub forum to place this in, as it isn't specific but also includes HTs, I guess it can belong here - How do people go about funding operations? obviously hasty decisions are never advised when it comes to cosmetic surgery, and therefore there should always be enough time to plan and even save for procedures, but with other finances to juggle, what options do people have that wish to have several cosmetic operations? I want to have my nose job so badly, and have done for so long. the only reason why I haven't proceded with it is because of my hair loss worry and been focusing on that, and the possibility of having to spend money on that. However, with every passing year I feel like its something I really should address sooner than later. I could save up for it, but what routes do people take when having these ops? any responses or some comforting information is warmly received
  2. Without disregarding Radius' comment above, I'd say its completely natural for you to be in this position with considering taking meds, I've been so obsessed with my hair for such a long time it was like i was always waiting for the first signs of hairloss... As I now definitely have a receding hairline, I can say from my experience to stay off any sort of treatments for the time being. document your hairline with videos and photos, pre and post showering, and believe me, you'll know when somethings happening. until then, dont bother taking any meds and youre just wasting youre money and could even be causing more damage than good. Hope this helps
  3. wait, this is hair cloning right? and its available now?
  4. Aye, I would be so over the moon if it was publicly available within the next 10 years. Id be 30 and would be able to say "I can have this done and never have to worry about hair loss, ever".
  5. I only took the drug for a few weeks and stopped as i was worried it was messing with my sexual function, but this bothers me as if i wish to resort to taking the drug in future years, i will still have that problem? I honestly feel like the "under 2% of people" thing is bogus, I've heard so many people say they had the side effects, and for me to believe i was having them too surely cant just be bad luck. I might start taking it again, but how am i too be sure im having side effects and not just paranoia? My semen did seem to be a lot more watery if im to be specific, but who knows what else it was doing?
  6. My dad wouldn't go on propecia, the side effect scares would definitely put him off instantly. but I've seen some online videos of middle aged guys having good response from rogaine so i figured it may be worth a shot with him...
  7. well if im honest, my update is a little scary. my receding hairline was only on the right side of my head, however a few days ago i noticed that i was now also receding on the left side too, with lots of short hairs growing and if i pull it right back in a mohawk shape, you can clearly see a balding area... im not sure if this is down to the rogaine applications or not? im going to stick it through, and keep applying it daily, as its not yet 3 months since i started using it, but its a little scary seeing as i didnt really have a problem on that side at all, and now after applying rogaine there, its balding. im also unsure how long these short hairs will grow, and if they are 'regrowing' or if this is the start of the end for that patch
  8. I'm really not sure, My dads balding progression was not conventional and it stabalized a good 5+ years ago... it looks no different to how it looked in his 40s, just grey now. If I had to guess I'd say NW4? but i dont know because he still has hairs throughout. I'll have to get him to take some photos for you all, as hes in another continent
  9. Since I'm the "hair loss expert" in his words, he's asked me what my advice is.. He's looking at a HT but I'm doubtful that he'd commit, honestly. I'm asking specifically because a. He's 51 YO, and b. he does/has suffered with high blood pressure levels before, through stress. I've read that minox helps create low blood pressure levels but I just wanted to run it by you guys before I give him the thumbs up Thanks and merry christmas!
  10. A few weeks before me then! How old are you? I'm 22 soon and had/have what many would consider a full head of hair, so maybe i will react a lot faster to the treatment than most people.. I was taking propecia for a few weeks, slowly building up my dosage but I've stopped taking it as my hair seems a lot better already from rogaine (or maybe i've just had a shed cycle and its nice and good again? i hope so ) and i swear it was effecting my ejaculate a little
  11. I've been on Rogaine for just under 2 months now, and I only apply it once a day, at any time really (from early morning to very very late at night) and im definitely seeing new hair sprouting on the hairlines corners. I apply two blobs to either side of my hair line and a big blob in the middle of my head, and rub it all over for good measure, but yeah, I'm definitely seeing hairs sprouting through that I hadn't seen in a while. Obviously its still early days, so ill keep watching and see what happens. Anybody got any comments on this? any similar stories?
  12. I've seen this term a lot (the cycle part) but I can't seem to fine definitive information on what it exactly is. Does it only occur on the top of the head, or are hairs on the side and back (the DHT immune hairs) gonna shed in the same cycle? How long does a shed cycle last? How often does the cycle occur, usually? Obviously, each person is different but there must be an averaged out answer for those questions... I've been on Rogaine for nearly a month and a half, and I thought i was ending a hair shedding cycle when beginning my daily applications, but earlier today when after showering and applying rogaine, i noticed a LOT of hairs on my hands, and even more so when rubbing my hands through the top of my head again, of all lengths and thicknesses. Thanks
  13. I had the exact same initial feelings - I didn't want to commit to a lifetime of using something to reverse hairloss when I was in denial. Just do what I did: don't do anything, and wait. If it gets a lot worse, you're gonna realize. and then jump on those meds asap.
  14. I don't think you fully understand what I mean, though - What I am saying is that a person in there 20s may have great response to the drugs, but in say 10 years time (when they reach 30) they no longer seem to respond to the drug, and they no longer have the option of taking that drug, EVER AGAIN in their life time and have to put up with a hair transplant and pretty much nothing else, if what people say about the drugs becoming completely ineffective eventually. A person in their 30s may not respond as well as a 20-so year old, BUT, they still get the same sort of lifespan out of the drugs, right? so if they get the same 10 year or so lifespan of the drugs, they get to 40, before the drugs are supposedly ineffective. Do you see my point now? am I correct with this assumption? Can anybody share some logic on this matter? Thanks
  15. I don't really see the point in there being a magic pill, as with all medications comes the possibility of side effects and the annoyance of having to take something daily. Once hair cloning is perfected and being sold, there will be no need to maintain your existing hair either, just clone some DHT immune follicles and stick them in the thinning area!
  16. How does the scar look now? could you do an update on that please?
  17. brilliant results. Definitely go for a second HT as i think it will complete what you are aiming for.. It's great to see what you've achieved here as your before pictures resemble exactly how my dads hair looks currently, and hes also wanting to get a HT. I'll have to show him your results
  18. It could be worse, bro. if your HT is successful, then thats the main thing. nothing a few 100 grafts from a FUE can't fix.
  19. ?500?? jesus christ. if you have good results then fuck. wow

    good luck!
  21. If you start taking the medication from a young age (20~ till death) and have positive results, are the drugs likely to wear off over time, and by the age of 30 you will receive no benefit from taking the medications? I've read many times that people in their 20s are the most responsive with these drugs and have the best outcomes, but are they unlucky in comparison to somebody who starts balding in their 30s and has less successful but still evident results from the same drugs? I'm just trying to question how likely it is that medications will be completely pointless by the time I reach my 30s, if I'm soon 22 and only beginning to take both meds.
  22. I read about this a few weeks back, and it definitely was a nice tip of the propecia hat, as I'd just started, or was about to start taking the drug. I'm currently on my 4th week, building up to my 1mg daily dosage, but I can say I have so far no noticed side effects, sexual or otherwise. There are many things that can cause impotency, amongst other sexual problems. Just because the individual is on propecia does not mean it is the sole cause of the problem, if at all.
