  1. Yeah, there's the 'need to see in person' argument, which Dr Feller would doubtless use to explain the 3 month wait for a decision despite me sending photographs. But I'm not convinced he hadn't already made up his mind before today's meeting. I think there are some mFUE/FUE grafts available for me and I'm not convinced Dr Feller disagrees despite what he said today. I'm in central London. Have you had surgery yet Destorius?
  2. Dr Bisanga sounds good, I'll consider him. However, I think if I research more carefully Turkish surgeons this time then I'll be able to find a leading one. There are two considerations for me. First, I have little money so I want the best deal I can get. The second is that I really don't want to shave down my recipient area.
  3. What I don't know is how serious Dr Feller's offer of a free mFUE was in the first place. Of course, it made him look charitable in this forum. But how real was his intention? I'll never know. He wouldn't discuss it with me other than a brief comment here or there on this forum, all communication was through Blake - who incidentally made me feel I had good cause to be optimistic they would do a substantial free mFUE, after I repeatedly expressed serious doubts that Dr Feller would go ahead. Then I saw Dr Feller today and from the outset he didn't seem to appear like he wanted to do it. Couldn't he have established that over Skype a few months ago? I think so! Strange.
  4. Well having thought about it for a few hours it's actually something of a relief because it means I won't have to shave down my scalp which is a serious hassle: it doesn't suit me and I've a lot of scarring in the donor area. I've had SMP from Milena Lardi which has mostly fixed it anyway because you can't really see I'm thinning now. She's done an excellent job. In the long-term, assuming the meds work (I started taking them 3 months ago) and I don't lose more hair, I'll likely get another Turkish FUE done without shaving the recipient area. Dr Feller (and Dr Bloxham and Dr Lindsey) says that I can't get more mFUE/FUE grafts due to my donor region being ravaged. I agree I can't take it from the area that's been harvested but I think enough can be taken slightly higher up on the back of my head in the less safe zone. I don't mind the slight risk of losing it further on down the line. I think the doctors didn't think it was worth my effort of going through another operation and I tend to agree with them now. I just don't think I needed to wait 3 months to hear that, although, as Dr Bloxham said, the SMP has fixed it since I sent them my pictures. Dr Feller was very personable so I can't fault him for that; as were Dr Bloxham and Dr Lindsay.
  5. So I saw Dr Feller in London today. Apparently I don't have enough donor left for an mFUE procedure. I had thought if it was likely he was going to tell me that then he didn't need to make me wait 3 months to get my hopes up only for that news! What a letdown! And to think I've been holding my tongue in this debate because I wanted the free procedure!
  6. Excuse my French but holy shit that looks like a great result and for that price!!! The work was so clean post-op and the coverage looks excellent. It could easily be a top clinic result. The lighting could be a bit stronger to showcase the density and it seems you have optimal hair characteristics, but still... Respect to Hacer Yuce! I wonder what your donor area is like now because I guess you could do with another pass...
  7. Thanks, it should be interesting to see their responses to my FUE result! There will be much justified criticising of the donor region no doubt! Wow, what a steal huh. Can't knock a result like yours for that price. Is the donor not too raped like mine is? How long did the operation take? P.S. I assume they threw in the jacket as part of the deal, right?
  8. Looking good there Mick. Seems you got lucky with a bargain priced Turkish FUE that has grown excellently. You remind me a bit of Sebastian Horsley in the pink jacket! How much did you pay again?
  9. That's what I thought... then stopped thinking about it because it made my brain ache. I like that ancient bearded dude's quote. Here's another by him; "Home is where the heart is."
  10. Thanks Dr B! Looking forward to it! You'll see my tricopigmentation work from Milena Lardi, too. It works very well as a temporary cover until further HT work...
  11. Thanks Dr Feller, look forward to seeing you in Old Blighty soon! P.S. I got it wrong about when I got the FUE relative to your second op on me. It was actually around 5 years later. I guess I should put the dates in my signature to avoid confusion.
  12. Dr Feller, I don't even know the name of the doctor who did my FUE op (which occurred around 5 years after your second HT on me, which is the one Shera refers to) so I doubt you do! It was an assistant doctor for a budget price Turkish clinic. The procedure was very rushed and my donor area was raped. I'm sure Dr Bhatti's a better surgeon than the young doctor who did mine was. That said, growth was actually OK. It was likely at least 70%, but how much more I don't know - just as I don't know how many grafts actually grew in my second HT with you. The Dr Bhatti example Shera supplied does depress me slightly as I really don't understand why I've used approx. 6500 grafts for the front of my hair so far. Anyway, I'm patiently waiting for our meeting at the start of October, Dr Feller. I'm steadfastly hoping you'll be willing to honour your offer of a free mFuE surgery on me! In which case I'll be very grateful and will hopefully be able to permanently consign to the past my hair transplant operation treadmill.
  13. Aaron, I don't think pics can display the result really as it just looks like full hair...
  14. Nice work hairthere!! Milena Lardi has you taught you well. I myself had the SMP thickening procedure from her last week. It's already fixed my thinning issues and I still have two treatments to go. The only way you can see I'm thinning now is if you really study my scalp in strong lighting, which nobody does. Milena Lardi is excellent! Fast, efficient and very skilled. The only downside was getting the SMP into scarred areas wasn't much fun, painwise.
  15. I should have gone on Propecia years ago, it would have stopped me thinning. I've been on Avodart for nearly two months and apart from a few sides for a short period it's fine. After 6 months I'll swap to Propecia.
  16. i voted for FUSS as I can't go for another FUE because my donor region has been brutally raped!! Hopefully I'll be getting an mFUE procedure from Dr Feller and Dr B.
  17. At this point in my hair loss progression, 6 months isn't my idea of "imminent" let alone a year! By that time I'll have lost a lot more hair. My appearance, including my hair, is intrinsically linked to my health, that's just the way I'm hardwired and likely always will be - aesthetics matter to me. Actually, the sides seem to have mostly dissipated now, so I'm intending to stick with Avodart for 6 months then switch to Propecia long term. I did look at PropeciaHelp briefly. There seemed to be some scaremongering going on, but I'm sure there's some measured material in there too among all the hype. I'll give it another look. No need for the repeated good wishes by the way, it's kind of passive aggressive.
  18. As if I wouldn't be rolling the dice by waiting for the "imminent" studies...
  19. The last thing I want is to bicker semantics with you but I'd appreciate it if you'd stop misrepresenting what I say. The word I initially used as a brief qualifier was "definitively" i.e. "definitively attributed" = proved. You seemed to miss that detail in your haste to view me as a denier. I'm not a denier of PFS; it seems to be a genuine and serious illness for some. For how many I don't know; hence this is where rigorous evidence becomes important. You suggest I'm being unfair and dishonest. I'm trying to evaluate Avodart's side effects on me and my opinion on them is fluctuating as the side effects change day to day. So I'm being uncertain, not dishonest. As for being unfair, I think the "somewhat evangelical" term is warranted in the context of you recommending people avoid taking Propecia until more studies on its safety are published. Well, as you currently have a full and stable head of hair that's a luxury you can afford. At age 39, my choice is between steadily losing my hair (with a fake island of hair at the front) or waiting out what are currently some relatively minor side effects. I'll go for the latter. I'm interested to hear you response to Spanker's question, as the same one occurred to me.
  20. P.S. To clarify, I'm not saying I doubt that Propecia has driven some people to suicide. I'm just saying that PROVING beyond doubt the link between suicide and Propecia is likely to be difficult. I expect some people have committed suicide due to Propecia's side effects, though how many I don't know.
  21. Nice work Dr Feller and team! It looks like he's going to end up with a full head of hair.
  22. I didn't "casually reject" the link between Propecia and suicide. That's an incorrect interpretation of what I said. You're clearly somewhat evangelical on this issue and I understand that your personal misadventure with Propecia has informed that position. However, it's important to try to make a balanced evaluation when assessing the risk that Propecia poses, and simply making a brief list of people who have committed suicide while on Propecia doesn't do that, no matter how strongly the families of the alleged victims of Propecia believe it was the cause of the death of their loved ones. At the moment I'm still taking Avodart and the side effects are manageable in the short term; they're not too bad really. I'm hoping they'll go away soon. If they don't I'll swap to Propecia and stick that out.
  23. Dr B says it for me there. Tragic as their deaths are, I doubt the reasons for their deaths can be definitively attributed to taking Propecia. It's not going to stop me giving Propecia a very good try. Yes, Propecia is risky. But so is life.
  24. Thanks to Joe for giving me the information, I'm booked in with Milena Lardi this week for temporary SMP. It'll be interesting to see how it looks.
