  1. LT, it's not only the HT industry - I am seeing quite a few other industries doing very well. Earlier today, I went to a pretty decent (quite upscale) restaurant for lunch, and had to wait almost 30 minutes to get a table. After that, I went to the mall, and had to wait quite a bit to find a parking spot... most people in the mall had several packages, from top stores, in their hands... that is, people are still buying expensive stuff. Perhaps certain geographical areas of the country and certain groups of people have been more badly hit. People who still have jobs (90% of the population) are spending as they usually do. Hence, the HT industry hasn't been affected.
  2. I'll echo what Bill said. It is difficult to judge what improvements have been achieved. Also, there seems to be quite a bit of "see through" effects in the hairline. I would have expected a more dense hairline with 4254 grafts, especially since the patient wasn't that high on the NW scale to begin with. However, it's possible that the pictures are not revealing the whole story and a better camera might provide more clarity.
  3. Takingtheplunge, your pictures present an interesting contrast. While the "front" pictures look quite good, the "top-down" pictures look quite bad. Perhaps adding a few more grafts to the frontal area might reduce the see-through effect.
  4. King_19, do research for several months before you take the plunge on a HT surgery. Making a wrong decision and ending up with a disappointing HT result can literally ruin your life. Do a thorough research. You can get a ton of info on this forum itself. Browse around. Also see the patient results of different doctors and go with the one whose style and results you like the most. Don't commit to a HT surgery unless you're 100% sure that you want to go through it, and you're 100% sure about the doctor. Good luck!
  5. Rainmanrock, from the pictures that you posted, I don't see much difference in the pre-HT and post-HT photos. Sorry that you didn't get good results. Did you try to resolve this with your doctor? I hope you are able to remedy this soon, and get some closure. Good luck!
  6. HT09, I have seen quite a few posts on this forum with pictures of HT results that look quite bad. I don't remember all the names, but I think balboa, chenzhenzhou (sic), and others have recently posted pictures of HT that looked horrible. Mind you, there is a big difference between someone at the 2-month mark FEELING he got bad quality work vs. who genuinely looks worse off at the 12-month mark. I am referring to the latter category. If you search around on this forum, you'll see some of those pictures. However, the overwhelming majority of patients on this forum seem happy with their results. In fact, for some doctors (such as Shapiro), I do not recall seeing any unhappy patient posts at all.
  7. Shines, I have had 2 HT surgeries (both in North America) and I am NOT looking for any more HT surgeries. So there is no question of me postponing anything related to HT. I was trying to give you a pep talk so that you get a positive perspective regarding your HT and feel better overall. If you choose to remain down and upset about your HT, it's your call, and I couldn't care less about it.
  8. Shines, I am still not sure what you're upset about. Is it about hairline density, design, or does this have something to do with discounts? Based on the pictures that you have posted, it seems you have quite a dense hairline from the first HT. From the pics that you posted from your 2nd HT, it seems that Dr Madhu has put in quite a few additional grafts in your hairline. I don't know why you want even more grafts in the hairline. Too many grafts in the hairline will give you a fake appearance. People from miles away will be able to tell that you had a HT if you do an overkill with the hairline. If you go through my posts on this forum, you'll see that I have a balanced view. When doctors get optimal results, I applaud it, but when they get sub-optimal outcomes, I criticize it. In your case, I don't see anything in the pictures that point to potential sub-optimal outcomes. The graft placements look fine, and it's wayyyy too early to talk about results. I believe you can make comments about results only after 8 months, or even later. Why don't we hold off on any premature judgments on the results, till after the 8-month mark? How does that sound? Good luck!
  9. Shines, based on the pictures that you have posted, it seems that you got a sufficient number of grafts in the frontal hairline. As others have already pointed out, anything more in the front hairline might have been an overkill and would have given you a fake hairline design. At this point, you might want to talk to Dr Madhu directly and in an open manner to resolve any issues regarding hairline designs. It is possible that you're experiencing some sort of post surgery cognitive dissonance - that's quite natural after any major decision we make in life. However, based on the pictures that you have posted (and assuming all the grafts grow out), you should have a very nice hairline in about a year's time. Good luck!
  10. Most clinics in most parts of the world ask for a set of blood tests. The tests are typically the ones mirzatechie mentioned.
  11. Hairiswhere, a quick search on this forum shows that Salman Khan apparently had his HT at Armani. No wonder his hairline apparently looks odd and he has to go back for touch-up procedures to Dubai, every year. Here's the posting that I found on this forum: http://hair-restoration-info.c...6060861/m/9751008773
  12. Sunnycoastman, I wore a hat for the first 4 weeks only. It was getting irritating and somewhat odd at work, to wear a hat. If you want to keep this as a secret, you can always go to a different hair stylist instead of your daughter. In case of a hair stylist who is stranger, even if you tell him/her about the HT, there is no way anyone you know would be aware of it.
  13. Balboa, thanks for posting that threating "lawyer" letter from Armani. It is good to get a visual image of the famed threatening letter that Armani bullies all his clients with. You have shown courage and leadership against an unethical doctor and his henchmen. I hope you will carry your fight to its logical conclusion, starting with the medical licensing board. Good luck!
  14. At 4 weeks post-op, you should be able to use almost any shampoo, including H&S.
  15. I don't see anything wrong with chanyouzhe or balboa or anyone else posting their post-op pictures on this forum or any other forum. However when a clinic threatens lawsuits over a patient posting their unsatisfactory results, that's definitely extortion and blackmailing.
  16. Nice! In about a year's time, this guy is going to have a very dense hairline. I like the dense hairline designs of Dr Shapiro. Look forward to seeing this guy's progress.
  17. For FUE, IMO, it's Shapiro and Feller.
  18. Jon, never heard of that doctor. If you're in NJ, you might want to consider the reputed doctors in the NY area. Dr Feller is one of the most reputed docs in that area, but there are quite a few other good ones. Search around on this forum, and you'll come across their names. In my opinion, one should do plenty of research before they decide to commit themselves to a HT surgery or to a particular doctor. Good luck!
  19. Based on the pictures in the links, Dr Simmons seems to be turning out good results. I like the achieved density. I have a preference for dense hairlines.
  20. bllorayne, If I remember correctly, I think you were considering between doctors H&W and Madhu. In my opinion, either of these options would be better than chains like MHR. Also the funny thing is that these chains are likely to charge you more than what H&W or Madhu would charge.
  21. Giuliano, your results look awesome! Very nice outcome! Btw, when I first read your post, I thought Giuliani (former NYC mayor) had a HT. Then I noticed the "o" in place of the "i".
  22. I believe it's fine to use most hair care products 4 weeks post surgery. However, check with your doctor, to be sure.
  23. Oh, btw, if you're looking for a combination of FUE and strip, then I think from the list I posted, Shapiro and Feller do both FUE and strips.
