1. Brando... dont forget, that these side effects are rare in most users...you may shed a bit as your growth cycle accelerates, but most dont..and it's pretty much unnoticeable if you do... Get Proscar if you go this route..same things as propecia, just cheaper because the pill is 5 mg of the active ingredient instead of 1 mg in propecia..then just cut it into quarters with a pill cutter... it has been shown to work in the majority of people taking it...at the very least, it will slow down your hair loss, and in many cases, it does allow dormant hair to grow....get on a good multivitamin as well (GNC Megaman is a pretty potent one) and some MSM (1500-3000 daily)...every little bit helps...
2. hey Fed...not sure if Hugh is correct or not here...there are some folks who lose hardly any of their grafts, such as WerewolfHead, and others like me that lose almost all of em..give it time... I noticed after a recent haircut, that the grafted hair is now growing slower than the pre-existing hair..the new grafted hair is similar to hair that comes back on people that have gone through chemotherapy...very thin and curly or kinky at first..but eventually it thickens over time...seems like everyone goes through the same process....just be patient..the fun REALLy starts around month three....
3. I agree Lorenzo....very well said...
4. no FED....really!...introduce them all you want!... besides, my truck is only a 3/4 ton....obviously far too undersized to haul around those beauties of yours..
5. Joseph... Along this same line...comparing "sprouting" time to "hair thickening" time, does the sprouting in your experiences take place over 12 months on average?....or 9?...or does it really vary?..... Then, how long in your mind until the actual maximum thickness of the individual transplanted hairs becomes maximized???
6. Joe...i dont understand Solid's slam or his rationale...what does neck and joint manipulation and stretching, have to do with scalp stretching??...one is muscle and tendon based, scalp stretching is more skin based....go figger huh...
7. Q I'm guessing that even after the fourth day, the grafts should be in there pretty well..sweat is a natural body function; even during sleep, your body sweats, including your scalp...and as far as dust and dirt, theres plenty of that outside and inside...maybe instead of a hat, you could try wearing a bandana or two..take a couple with you at night, and change them occasionally..dont forget, keeping your scalp moist is a GOOD thing right after your surgery...
8. Akonsta...just curious..since grafts also form in 3 and occasionally 4 hair groupings, do you just leave those 3 and 4 hair grafts alone during the extraction process? Also, you say that with these 1 or 2 hair grafts need no further prep after extraction, and can be immediately placed in the donor site...what is the shape of the base of the graft upon extraction??...(circular, oval, eliptical, other)...and what shape is the recipient cavity as well?...thanks..
9. Amazing that they were able to get so much more out of his scalp .....good for you Joe... Another question for you Joe...i have this electric massage thing i got for Christmas a few years back...its a Remington or something that just slides over your hand, and has a little motor on it for massaging....i use it on my neck a lot..and just wondering if it might help loosen the scalp as well...any ideas?
10. Hole...i dont know what the criteria is...there seem to be some second rate surgeons on this site for whatever reason..NOT that they dont do hair transplants, but you wouldnt want them to do one on you if they only did one a week between doing liposuction and nose jobs...
11. nothing you can do about it now anyway jerry...if you bumped it instead of scraping it, then youre probably better off...youre probably ok..but id call your surgeon just in case...probably just ice it like you would anyway....
12. Danger... probably depends on how large a procedure, and what kind of swelling you experience...megasessions usually result in more swelling in the forehead, then eye area..it goes away quickly, but figure a week before you want to be seen in public..
13.
quote:
Rug..you sure its not the kneepads? No DT...you took them back home with you after our last date....you dont remember???..sigh...I'm just manspam to you arent I....i know, you just want me for my "baloney pony"..i feel soo cheap and used..
14. Howard the existing hair structure seems a bit better...my fingernails are growing about twice as fast as normal it seems..and my skin seems less dry....seems that my knees seem to have less aches and pains.....
15. good god....where's the harpoon???
16. Smoothy... I have to give credit to Futzyhead and Djtrojanz for turning me onto this stuff..Sure seems to work well, not just on my hair either... Walmart also has it pretty cheap...but I'm getting mine at GNC...3000 mg a day...
17. lolol...Yeah Joe....when are you goin to order an Orgasmatron so that we can REALLY enjoy these megasesssions...
18. 5 weeks is pretty early actually.....on average, nothing happens for three months...i wouldnt worry about it until after 5 months actually...
19. Hole... seems this Meshkin guy also does nose jobs, liposuction, and other stuff..probably not your best choice for a good hair transplant... do some research on this forum..it should be incredibly obvious whom the best surgeons are ...and dont worry about traveling outside of California...a lot of the surgeons cover the majority of your airfare and take care of two nights hotel stay too...
20. truth...seems to me i read a post about six months ago..where someone had gotten back to lifting prior to his surgeon's allowing it, and did a nice stretch number on his donor scar...i would think the amount of time you need to heal the scar is somewhat dependent on the closure method...whether its sutures, staples, or a combination of internal dissolving sutures and exterior sutures or staples...i would check with your doc and let him decide...im also sure it depends on whether your lifting excercises put a strain on the scalp or not...some would, some wouldnt ...
21. I found that letting the shower head pound water as hot as i can stand it onto my scalp for 5 minutes or so, seems to keep the ingrown hairs at a minimum..probably opening up the pores or something...
22. Shock loss varies depending on the patient as well as the surgeon...If the surgeon isn't careful, he can damage existing hair follicles when making recipient sites...I guess this shouldn't be called shock loss as much as it should be called cutting existing follicles... many people like myself, experienced little or no shockloss in either the donor area or the recipient area...with others, the shock loss can actually be in random spots it seems..really no way to predict it..
23. Geedo... On average, the grafts dont start popping until about three months have passed...so youre just about to really start noticing things...be patient, we've all been there..
24. Someone...needs a timeout..or some Xanax...
25. i agree with you 100% Arfy... how in the name of Elvis can someone have full popping of a previous HT at 3 months?...impossible...the surgeon would be "guessing" on possibly 90% of the locations of the previously placed grafts...if someone is doing this, they should be shot...
