  1. the answer to this question depends specifically on where the 2nd round will be placed. If it is in between newly planted hairs, to add density, I would listen to Rugger's advice that 15 months should be given. If the 2nd procudure is focusing on a new scalp region that hasn't been touched I have heard from 5-8 months after is adequate. By this time your donor area should have retained laxity and could be subjected to another procedure. This is why one pass, high density techniques are very important in the attempt to efficiently reach your goal.
  2. i started riding one month post op...no harm was done and if they say 3 weeks is adequate time, you can be assured that is correct. 2002 RM250 1999 CBR 600 F4i
  3. Good point and I'm also interested in what he has to say. If he does respond to you via email be sure to let us know
  4. keep visting this section and not only is it the only active thread with no photo's in the photo section it involves a political debate...haha
  5. if you want to contact Shapiro directly why not email him? that way you know it hits eyes instead of hoping he will visit the forum
  6. While it is good to hear they attempted to get back to you, being 'very satisfied' involves a lot more than picking up a phone. Good luck in your quest
  7. I agree, the infant hair is not able to absorb equal nutrition when compared to the matured hair. Hopefully it balances out soon
  8. Rugger, I'm taking 3000mg of MSM per day and the rest of my hair seems to be growing 3 times as fast the transplanted area. Are you thinking MSM is causing adverse effects or non-effective accelerated growth of the transplanted region and only allowing its capabilties to effect the well established hair? I figure the reason for the slower growth is all part of the maturization process. Not sure what role that MSM is playing on the new seedlings....
  9. have you heard of Proscar? It has the same active ingredient that Propecia has. It comes in 5mg pills that need to be divided into quadrants to get the approxiamte 1mg dosage. I just refilled my Proscar 30 pills , which equal 120 days, cost me $100. The added benefit is the cost plus insurance co.'s will cover this(sometimes) since it can be used for prostate meds.
  10. if you only need 600-800 grafts I would give every med & concealer a shot before committing to a HT. I personally wouldnt do a strip procedure unless it was 1500+ . FUE may be a good choice for such a small procedure, but id still wait to see more evidence on this technique. You should be happy you only were asessed such a small amount.
  11. I believe it is perfectly normal to experience numbness from any head wound. I was in a car accident, the glass from the windshield cut my head. I did not need stitches and the cut was minimal, which left very little scarring. You bet it hurt and left my head sore and numb for for few weeks. The tightness experienced from the swelling also went away in due time. A similiar experience was felt post op. The donor area was tender ,a little swollen, and numb while healing. This appears to me as normal reaction and is part of the healing process with head wounds. I am not exactly sure how permanent nerve damage is caused, but I can tell you I have no numbness present. However, at around the 2 month post-op mark I started to worry the numbess wasnt going to go away, shortly after it started to subside.
  12. the only thing I wish I hadn't done is waited so long to get a HT done. This is turning out to be the one of the best things I have done for myself
  13. this is what I did to allow more time off from work week.. Surgery was on a Friday...that gave me two weekends and one full work week off.. A total of 9 days which I felt was sufficient
  14. started at around 22 days post op. I train very hard now(for mass), the first two weeks I dropped my weight in all excercises by 35%.. the reason for this was to avoid injury due to absence of training and to gradually monitor the scar as training and wieght was increased. I have experienced no scar scretching at all. Just be careful you do not strain or twist your head on a bench in a way that could physically stretch the scar. If you are pushing the limit of extraction for your laxity at the time of surgery I would wait a lot longer than 22 days. In my case, I was much under my limit and did not have a very tense scar after the first procedure on my virgin scalp. Just remember that every case is different, so evaluate your own particular situation.
  15. dtrojanz, progress is going great. They just keep multiplying Tomorrow marks 11 weeks. I need to show some pics and update my site shortly
