I started topical finasteride three months ago. My question is: How long should l wait to see results from topical finasteride before possibly switching to topical dutasteride if topical finasteride doesn't work ?

At least 6 months and you should let your doctor or dermatologist to judge your progress.

You should take pictures before the treatment and take new photos after 6 and 12 months to make comparisons. I think you should wait 12 months before switching to other therapy.

What's your topical fin's concentration? vehicle?

I have 0.025% topical finasteride mixed with topical minoxidil 5% trichosol.

Since this is the weakest effective topical fin dose, do'nt expect to see a lot of regrowth, nor a an early hyper response. Evaluate at least after 6 months

I think the weakest effective dose is 0.0125.

No way a dose this low could be effective

I dunno. But 0.025% sounds good since it showed 52% of scalp dht reduction.

I would give medication at least 6 months.

Yes it is

Applying 2ml is already 0.025% and reduces 50% of scalp DHT

That's enough for some but might not be enough for others.

I am hoping on Topical Fin 0.01% (2ml a day) and PRP with PRF. I'll continue dermarolling with Saw Palmetto once a week and other vitamins

Oral minox unfortunately wouldn't work for me

You said it yourself, 2ml of 0.0125% gives you 0.025%, which is, as my first comment suggest, the weakest effective dose of topical fin.

Yes but who can possibly cover their thinning area with one ml?

I don’t know of anyone unless you only using on temples where it isn’t effective anyways

Once again, just curious where you are sourcing 0.01% fin? thanks for any insight. I currently use a product which is 0.25% fin.
