Regular Member Yabala Posted February 10 Regular Member Share Posted February 10 I started topical finasteride three months ago. My question is: How long should l wait to see results from topical finasteride before possibly switching to topical dutasteride if topical finasteride doesn't work ? At least 6 months and you should let your doctor or dermatologist to judge your progress.
Regular Member Napoli Posted February 10 Regular Member Share Posted February 10 You should take pictures before the treatment and take new photos after 6 and 12 months to make comparisons. I think you should wait 12 months before switching to other therapy.

Regular Member Eli_Avdikian Posted February 14 Regular Member Share Posted February 14 Since this is the weakest effective topical fin dose, do'nt expect to see a lot of regrowth, nor a an early hyper response. Evaluate at least after 6 months

I am hoping on Topical Fin 0.01% (2ml a day) and PRP with PRF. I'll continue dermarolling with Saw Palmetto once a week and other vitamins Oral minox unfortunately wouldn't work for me

Yes but who can possibly cover their thinning area with one ml? I don’t know of anyone unless you only using on temples where it isn’t effective anyways
Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted February 19 Valued Contributor Share Posted February 19 One thing I did (rightly or wrongly) was to buy and add topical 5% minoxidil to my 0.25% topical finasteride so that I could use more on my scalp than the 1ml or 2ml prescribed. I currently use a product which is 0.25% fin.
