Regular Member Bej520 Posted January 2 Regular Member Share Posted January 2 Quick Bio: 28 year old male, with diffuse thinning that resulted in full scale baldness by the age of 22. Had SMP at 22, and have been wet shaving my head since. Desired Result: To have a hairline again, not expecting the level of density that Melvin or my Irish friend that went to Eugenix have, but something thinner then than and full coverage. Ready to accept a thin midscalp & crown provided the hairline is done well, which I’ll be able to keep at a level one guard, and grow my beard. My 2 1/2 week pictures is beyond what I ever imagined would be possible, so pretty safe to say my bar wasn’t too high. Procedure: I went to a clinic (will remain nameless for now) in Istanbul, which performed a FUE HT, extracting circa 9000 grafts from a combined scalp, beard and chest. The breakdown was roughly 6000 from the scalp, 2000 from chest & 1000 from the beard. Slits/Incisions were performed by the doctor, and placement of grafts by two technicians. Day 1 consisted of 6000 scalp grafts, which took roughly 14 hours and covered the hairline, temples and midscalp. Day 2 consisted of 3000 Chest & Beard grafts, focusing on adding density to the midscalp and very lightly touching the crown. Pictures are from pre op, post op, two and half weeks post op, and month and a half post op. I’ll leave a set of questions for you all below, and feel free to do so vice versa. I hate reading large blocks of text, so please only use bullet points if possible (this is why I put off making this post for so long *facepalm*) Just a final FYI that I have been trimming my head with a machine/trimmer since the dredded shed, hence why I now have shorter hair. Regular Member Bej520 Posted January 2 Author Regular Member Share Posted January 2 (edited) QUESTIONS FOR THE COMMUNITY: • Are those Golden/Clear wisps actually hair? • in my hairline, there is a gap which feels completely smooth, I cannot see any hairs there either, does this mean the grafts in this section died / did not survive? • Are there ingrown hairs? Or is this normal to have in the donor area one month post op? See pic below Edited January 2 by Bej520

If it was a mistake, I don’t want to point desperate people in the same direction. Even the best clinics in the world have poor results. That wouldn't invalidate that particular clinic but by the same reasoning you could deter someone from going to an excellent surgeon by posting a poor result. The point being that this forum works best for all on the basis of transparency. Whichever clinic you've just been to, there's probably cases already on the forum. And no one is going to run off to this clinic on the basis of your one month post-op photos!

Thank you, actually the overwhelming majority voted to enforce naming the surgeon in all threads. If you have a good counter argument im all ears. 1 I’m a paid admin for Hair Transplant Network. You have pimples in the donor area which is normal but it looks like they took too many grafts out. If you like shaving your head in the donor area you should stick with it. And what is the point of doing temple points wich chest hair with your level of hairloss?

I was worried about the pimples so thank you, the temple points were covered with scalp hair, I think you may have mis-read.

Regular Member Kamran10 Posted February 17 Regular Member Share Posted February 17 Looking forward to see your progress. Can you please share the chest donar area to see the healing progress ? . I have heard that taking hair from chest can cause very noticeable scaring ? I have a lot of double in my chest and also do fitness daily so I trim my chest hair every week and I’m not sure how it will look like if I use chest hair hair

Regular Member Bej520 Posted February 18 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 18 (edited) A few higher resolution shots as yesterday’s were screenshots from a video. Hopefully these help. Also I did buzz my head between these photos. Anyone know how to stop pictures rotating the wrong way when uploading? I seem to always have trouble with this and duplicates too. It's results that matter, and since many users stop posting updates once their results are looking good (or even not so good), what's left behind is a thread without much practical use for anyone.
