As I said, I'm not worrying about anything at this time. I won't be judging anything until I'm a good few months further down the line. We're still only 3-4 months in, fairly early days and plenty of time left to go 😃

I can see the density beginning to improve for sure! The next couple of months is where the magic will happen. Also I wouldn't focus too much on comparing to your pre-surgery pics (just yet!) , I say this because you had quite a bit of length then, whereas now it is comparably much shorter, as you buzzed down for surgery. I would say everything looks right on track, and is very much following the process typical of a typical Eugenix transplant. I will be following your case quite closely, as we have quite similar hair characteristics, plus I intend to do a density sitting in 12 months time, so nice to gauge expectations. Donor-wise don't stress too much. you are only at 3 months and need to give yourself at least six for it to recover (reading Karl's & Melvin threads will give you the reassurances needed). Cheers for update!

Agreed John, very little point analysing too much just yet. We're still fairly early into the process. I'm sure we'll see plenty happening in the months to come 🌱

How many grafts are you looking at for your density sitting? I'm sure I'm not alone when I say you don't particularly need another procedure, but we all strive for perfect coverage don't we 😆

Crown is coming in great now, few more months and the transformation will be complete!

No cause for concern with the donor. I had shock loss there until months 6-7. I just had to keep my hair longer so it wouldn’t show. No need to worry about any comments that make you worry.

4 Month update

Photos were taken on Saturday which was 4 months on from the 6th of January and my procedure at Eugenix.

My hair is roughly the length I used to have it pre transplant/headshave.

Again, difficult to tell with native and 1st transplant hair growing back, but I feel there has been some subtle improvements.

Photos were taken a week or so after a hair cut (skin fade)

Still early days but probably coming into the months with most activity growth wise now.

Still taking 1mg of finasteride daily, as ever. Have been wondering recently if it’s something I should switch up. See a lot of people on here taking minoxidil instead or as well as finasteride.

any advise or questions greatly appreciated 🤝🏼

what are your thoughts on your donor area? Do you plan on keeping it that short? You can clearly tell where the chunk of the donor area was taken and it doesn't blend in with the rest of the hair.

Hi mate. Agreed that at the moment the donor is still definitely recovering. To people somewhat educated on transplants it is noticeable, but to someone who isn't, I'm not sure if it is.

Anyway, I'm not going to make any judgements on anything until I'm a few months further down the line. Have seen many posts on here where it seems people manage to talk themselves into unnecessary worry far too early in the process.

Looking good for four months. I would stay on finasteride (especially as you are not getting any side effects). You could add oral minoxidil. If this doesn't give you sides it will make your hair thicker in general. But then I guess you are adding one more drug that you have to stay on. Either way finasteride is the drug to be on. All the best.

5 month update

Zero product in when these photos were taken (assuming I managed to get the small amount of fibres out that I used at the weekend 😀)

The donor seems to have shown some signs of recovery in the past month.

as always, feedback welcome!

Looks good. You’ll be right.

Suggest you either grow your sides out, or get a skin fade. This grade 2 you’re keeping is always going to show off your donor area, which is quite depleted at this stage.

Unfortunately, I've noticed this appears to be a relatively common issue amongst Eugenix patients. Especially those with fine caliber / blonde hair (I won't call out specific cases here on HRN. but feel free to search them out and form an opinion yourself.). I like Eugenix work in terms of hairline design and density achieved with most of their less ambitious cases, but the donor appearance on many of these patients post-op are quite poor. IMHO, it's the big weak spot for this clinic. If they could improve in this one area, I think they would be one of the best options out there. Unless a patient has a great donor or nice thick hair to disguise the potential aftermath, I'd probably steer clear of any clinic that has issues with donor appearance. Otherwise, you might have solved one problem on the top of your head, just to begin a brand new problem on the back / sides of your head. Just my opinion, the next person may differ.

I agree about some of their donor work, but no clinic is perfect, even Dr Mwamba has had a few bad cases of poor growth.

6 month update

These last 6 months have flown by, can’t quite believe we’re here already.

Photos taken just after a shower apart from the last 2.

no fibres or product used in any of the photos.

I used to use fibres practically everyday prior to this second transplant but barely use them at the moment. Feel I have more coverage now in the crown area particularly. I still use fibres on occasion but way way less than before.

have included a photo from my last trim which was on the 20th of June, to show the donor with a zero.

as ever, let me know what you think 🤝🏼

Going pretty good at 6 months and you have many more months in the bank to get more growth and density.....you will not need fibers from now on...

The crown is looking great and the density behind the hairline as well.

I have one concern with Eugenix (as they are frontrunners right now) as it seems to me (no offense intended) that the donor area in the back always seems quite thin once they are done. Is that just me?

7 month update

A few days late but here’s a few more pics to bore you all with 😄

Most of them taken just after a hair cut/skin fade. no fibres in any of the photos, but some slick gorilla lightweight clay (I think) applied by the barber in the first few pics.

Catch you at 8 months ✌🏻

9 (and a bit) month update

apologies, I missed the 8 month update. But here’s how I’m looking at 9 and a bit months. With a slightly different trim.

No product in my hair in any of the photos.
